Here is another 3D model animation of the Razor Crest from the Mandalorian, my most detailed model yet. Enjoy!
The Disney plus show was created by John Fav-vo and Dave Filoni.
The Razor Crest was a gunship used by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin.
Prior to the rise of the Galactic Empire, it served as a military patrol craft and is considered a ghost meaning it is disconnected from
The ship is also considered a ghost meaning it is not registered to both the Imperial and New Republic networks.
In addition, the ship is able to jam New Republic codes and encrypt its own signals.
The vessel eventually fell into the hands of Din Djarin, who lived and worked from the ship as he bounty hunter in the early years of the New Republic.

I guess Razor Crest was officially first ship with toilet. Fun fact: when in season 1 Jawas stripped down Razor Crest, they even took that toilet with them
I'm really not sure if it's a toilet since the book never said it was.
@@Halfscreen in the series it is said that it is a toilet.
@@YavorM-Yash Finally, a real toilet.
Toilets were a thing in star wars for quite a some time actually
Those are called refreshers
- Millennium Falcon have one
- Dengar's ship has one
- imperial shuttles have those (appeared in one rebels episode)
@@randomdude5993 I couldn't find them on the cross-section drawing.
His new ship is just a marketing ploy imo. The razor crest gave the appearance of a story and had its own character and a home, it was also one of the best Star Wars looking ships imo. Sad to see no more of it.
I know much effort has gone into making those models so that the sections can be explained..and the theme music was the final element to made it fantastic....Thank you!!! ...I wish more Star Wars Fans could join this excellent channel
There is an old saying...if you build them, they will come.
Stay awesome and take my upvote
@@benyzehnder9310 Thanks!
Absolutely!! Tons of time and the music edits were perfect!!
It’s fascinating how fascinating unreal tech is.
The proportions of ship to engine of the Razor Crest make it a more plausible space craft than other designs. The engines are of a viable design for dilethium deuterium fusion integration displacement mechanisms. The cabin of the craft is well designed for internal gravity integration capacitors. As a particle physicist, I give the Razor Crest a 9/10.
I’m a rocket scientist and a string theory physicist and I totally agree!
Fun fact: The idea for the razorcrest engines was lifted straight from the A-10 Warthog !
The Razor crest pulled from the ocean on Trask, to the jetty, is one of my favorite scenes for this (that) ship. Great model work.
how much water can it contain? XD i loved that scene, too!
You are hitting the mark with these animations. Great detail, interesting information and oh ya, the music is excellent again!
Thank you very much!
I love the razorcrest. It reminds me of a van for space travel lol
I really like videos like this where they show the internal layouts and systems of ships of the Star Wars Universe to whoever came up with the idea great job and I hope to see more in the future.
I love this 3D layering animation, thank you
Glad you like it and thanks for watching Thomas!
Another triumph of a video on Star Wars vehicles. Between the music and the animation, my favorite so far . . . and that’s saying something after you knocked it out of the park with your X-wing post! Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you very much! I'm trying to come up with new ideas and suggestions.
@@Halfscreen I’d love to see a break down on the Imperial Lambda shuttle craft!!! Thanks👍
@@spacemanspiff3052 I have the 3D model....i just need the time.
This was SO WELL DONE! Thank you for this in-depth cross-section breakdown of this ship. I'm still so bummed that it's gone..! The N1 is pretty cool
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great great work, you are gonna be big
Thanks for the comment, that is my long term plan. 😉
You did very well with this one.
Thanks
I love this new Star Wars videos! Thank you!
Our pleasure!
Well done and the internal arrangements are excellent
thanks.
Another amazing video with amazing music!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Incredible Details. Loved It 🔥
Glad you liked it!
Your incredibly well made animations make great advancements for my research. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
Oh boy, I love your animation. Well done
Thank!
I love your animations. However, the carbonite freezing system is located towards the back of the ship and on the other side. Refer to first episode here. The spot you have allocated for the system is where his weapons locker is. Also, the storage unite is his bunk. Next to the toilet. Just some points. Love your work.
I really based my 3D model on the Star Wars cross-section book. I tried to match it closely but it may be slightly different from the tv show.
"Love your work! Now, here's what you did wrong." You can feel the "love".
@@chrisyarmer4704 Constructive criticism is love.
Phenomenal breakdown and love the music for the inside out section
Thanks.!
crest is such a badass ship!
Animations are fantastic as always, but I finally subbed because of the music, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the sub!
One thing has always bugged me about the Mandalorian and that is why does the guy mistrust droids so much I sure would like to know.
His parents were killed by droids
Dude, screw the Razor Quest, let's all marvel at the EPIC way you built it out! Absofreakinglutely BEAUTIFUL! I am so much in love with this method! If you give other sci Fi tech this treatment, you've just made yourself your biggest fan my friend!!! I'd love to give this 10 thumbs up! Hell, I may even hit the bell for you. A rare act indeed, for me.
Thanks for watching.
This is awesome! Thanks for the great work, I love how detailed this is.
You're very welcome!
I'll miss it. The Mandos new N-1 is very cool no doubt. But the razor crest was probably more versatile
Dude... this is seriously amazing. I am in awe. I just happened to stumble over your videos and darn... this model is so over the Top, I feel I could actually build a working Razor Crest by using your Model. Naturally, I watched a few other vids of yours and what can I say? You are amazing. You truly make these things come to life. Sure, props to the Original designers of course, but your Models are just so good.
Thanks for making these videos. It reignites a love for Spacecrafts within me I was almost sure I lost.
Crazy cool animation.
Can't wait to see the junkyard he gets the next one in
That would be interesting.
Your work is absolutely amazing. Wow your good. Can't wait to see what else you do.
Thank you so much!
Excellent as usual.
I appreciate that
After seeing this, I think Lego did a great job recreating the RC with great accuracy.
I wasn't into star wars until I saw the Mandalorian, now I can get enough, I love the story through the decades. My imagination goes haywire with thoughts of space travel and cute little aliens :> )
She's a stunning, _breathtaking_ ship! 😍🥰❤️
She, the razor crest is a beautiful ship.
Thank you brilliant presentation keep up the good work
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was an awesome cross-section. My favourite yet. I hope Lego is paying attention for when they release a UCS razor crest
Thanks for watching!
@@Halfscreen easy to do with great content. Thank you for the attention to detail you give each video subject.
Another great one buddy!
Thanks for watching Ben!
Awesome video!
I read recently that when they began designing the Razorcrest they went through the usual process of sketches.
As the design was getting narrowed down they used the U.S. Airforce's A-10 Warthog for inspiration.
It kind of does look like a A-10 Warthog.
@@Halfscreen It does. The engines especially and cockpit area. It also kinda reminds me of an old moonshiners car when the X-Wings chase it down.
You're videos are absolutely beautiful btw.
Keep em coming!
@@tmseh Thanks for the kind comments tecums3h!
I think it looks more like something between LAAT and cargo plane. I don't remember about rear cannon and escape pod.
There’s some V-22 Osprey in the tail.
Very impressive model
Many thanks!
Very well done! The Razor Crest is one of my favorite Star Wars ships. I can't wait for my Haslab Razor Crest to arrive.
Insanely detailed!
That was really cool!! 👍
Glad you liked it!
The razor crest design is by far my favorite design. If i were to want a shuttle it would be that one.
I think its a well design ship.
Great video & animation!
Thanks for the visit
Love the "piece by piece" assembly of the animation sequence, although I imagine it is much more time consuming for you to do than the standard cutaway! 👍
Seem like my older videos "piece by piece" get better view than standard video. I might have to revisit these ideas. Thanks!
@@Halfscreen Especially for these smaller ships, looks great!
Holy Shit this is awesome! All the requests we've made to date and somehow we forgot about the Razor Crest? Definitely your best one yet... and very excellent your custom production of the soundtrack and also how you slipped in a snippet of The Force Theme @4:05 (was that also in the authentic soundtrack? I'll have to go rewatch both seasons all over again to see for myself. Hell I don't even need a reason to do that!)
The sound track is from a UA-camr name Samuel Kim Music, who makes awesome movies/tv show soundtracks. Appreciate the comments and your time watching my video.
Great detail!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your animations. It brings back memories that I had when I was a kid growing up watching sci-fi shows. Thank you! Maybe you could do the Roger Young next?
I tried to add some imagination and creativity with technical know-how. I don't know if I have any cross-section of the Roger Young vessel.
So cool! If I had that ship I would never leave it!
These are like those DK cross section books brought to life - great job. I'm most interested to see what Double D is flying in s3.
I was looking for a cross-section animation for these craft and find very few on UA-cam, so I said screw it, I do it myself.
Love the look of this industrial ship , just bought the micro machine model 😀
And another one!
Man...that was fast.
I didn't know the Razorcrest had a onboard carbonite freezer and escape pod, thats NEAT!
Nice work very impressive
Thank you very much!
Yes!!! Finally
You know what I was thinking about the razor crest and then this video popped up
Thank you man I really appreciated this . I may be in the few but this and slave 2 are my favourite ships .
No problem and thanks for watching.
Same I love the slave ships and the razor crest.
@@Halfscreen Hey my man I just had an idea I’m sure you may already had but could you do a video of the gunship from Elysium , Agent Krugers gunship . It’s very very cool .
@@FGI-kz1bd It's not doable since there isn't any existing schematic for it.
@@Halfscreen thank you for replying , you must admit it’s a very cool gunship.
Just watching this video I find it kinda funny that the Razor Crest uses escape pods similar to the ones on the Millennium Falcon.
Very cool made ! 😎👍
Thanks 👍
awesome work man....
Thanks electric Martin!
Well done!
Thanks!
You don't know how bad I want a solo player star wars game where you have your own ship and do whatever you want.
Good job..Cool animation and great detail you put a lot of effort to make this video ....Next time Make the ghost ship in star wars rebels..
Let me think about it. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, fantastic.
I like the Razor Crest, its a humble but solid ship that shows that Din Djarin is not wealthy but is able to make the most of his resources.
I do wonder about the aft facing canon. I don't recall it ever being used in the show. Do you have a reference for that? It seems odd the ship's most powerful weapons would fire aft, and have never been used.
It's on the Hasbro toy.
www.theverge.com/2020/10/27/21535512/the-mandalorian-star-wars-hasbro-toy-ship-razor-crest-baby-yoda
I’d Love To See an Updated Version of The Razor Crest Sane Overall design but Modern Styled Rendition with More Squared off Engines and Maybe Some Beskar Armored hull plates
Can't see the razor crest without thinking of the Cutlass Black in Star Citizen. One of my favorite ships even before the Mandalorian series :)
It's loss was one of the most painful deaths in all of Star Wars.
great job
Great video
Thanks!
Great job. Do you notice Star Wars spacecraft doesn't have much room for fuel tank, power cells/packs utilizing most of the spaces making it too spacious like CH-47 Chinook helicopter. Present day military transport aircraft, the fuel stored in lower rear fuselage and wings leaving less space for crew and cargo compartment. Space shuttle Columbia, most of the space occupied by main propellant engines, directional thrusters and solid propellant fuel. Crew compartment in tight cramped forward fuselage and middle section cargo bay with mechanical arm actuator. Also the thick layers of ceramic tiles heat shields. Verdict, Star Wars spacecraft looks like they are meant for short range atmospheric only flight more rather than spacecraft.
I think it may have to with the technology they are using. I know the Razor Crest doesn't have a fuselage. Its also possible the designer doesn't care much about functionality.
@@Halfscreen thanks Halfscreen. If you're from 80's you would notice people back then would focus on realism and only to be held back by budget constraints and special effects limitation. Newer Star Wars design tend to stray towards fancy and fantasy rather than engineering feasibility. That's why people love original star wars ep4-6 more than those latter. Rogue one is good because of practical special effects and they stick to ep4.
@@jawarakf Well, most of the movies back in the '70s and 80 still hold up. Considered the movie Alien and Aliens. Ridely Scott and James Cameron did a job keeping the realism of the ships in each movie. The movies are like 30-40 years old, but the design aspect still looks functional.
@@Halfscreen that's because of realism and practical special effects. Even children would play with realistic toys more than cartoonish toys over long term. Songs from 80's still hold up today because of the passion and quality of the composers. What do we have nowadays? Sci-fi that relies solely on CGI with fantasy design & songs that are made without music instrument just to fill the charts. Back then singers mostly were the composers that play their music instruments. Despite having all the tech, nobody makes proper sci-fi movies nowadays.
@@jawarakf Man..I still love my 80's music. If you think about it, bands and musicians back in the '80s have to know how to play their equipment. There is no way around it. That is why you don't see many live bands today, mostly DJs and solo artists.
only have to say thanks for the explanations
You are welcome!
Exelent design! Great animación!
It’s very cool
very cool great info
what i would like to see is a person next to the entrance to haven an idea how big it is
this always reminded me of the hero's ship in 'battle beyond the stars.'
Impressive work hopefully we'll some of ships from the end battle from TROS. 👍🏻
Thanks.
most of these ships were computer generated random models, akin to those background ships in OT except with even less about them
amazing video!
Glad you think so!
Woah 😻
This is now one of my favorite ships in the series. This is a tie for first place with Dash Rendar's Outrider. I grew up on Shadows of the Empire game so I loved that ship. For most it is the Millenium Falcon which is cool to me but not particularly my taste. My favorite large ship in the series is of course the Star Destroyer. Classic shape.
The show was "created by Jon Favreau" (verbatim quote from credits of all episodes).
Filoni is an "executive producer", and wrote 2 episodes (same number as Rick Famuyiwa), and directed 3 episodes (same number as Rick Famuyiwa).

My favorite starship of star wars
It's huge!!!
I never realized it but, the ship is a Clone trooper assault ship but it's wings are altered
thanks very useful for me modifying my lego razor crest
No problem 👍
Yeah I saw a video where they showed the Jawas stripping down the ship and I just gotta say one thing the little buggers are fast and efficient when they did it and the Bounty Hunter wasn't too happy about it and he started blasting them and man that was weird seeing them turn to dust when they got hit it would explain what happened to the Jawas who sold Artoo and Threepio to Luke in episode 4 who would have thought how fragile the Jawas were that they literally turn to dust when they die it sure gives new meaning to the term 'Ashes to Ashes Dust to Dust' doesn't it.
Wonderful! Hammerhead corvette next?!?
Don't know if there is an official schematic of the ship.
I loved the show but they were able to make a portable carbon freezer in 6 years? Wtg fellas!
Love it! You should consider making STLs available.
You are like the 2 or 3 person who mentioned about me creating an STL version. Thanks for watching.
With that mobile Carbonite freezing system onboard and seeing how it works freezing people and God knows what else at least we now know what poor Han went through when he was frozen in Carbonite in Episode 5.
Oooo, shiny!
That is the Space Honda!!!
I could discuss all this for hours :P
How rad (but also impractical) would it be if Din kept the Arquitens light cruiser? 😄
Great 👍
This looks dope! May I suggest for future projects that maybe you do something from Warhammer 40K as a lot of imperial guard vehicles have a lot of written detail to them so maybe an idea for alternative vehicles to animate and review. Amazing video as always.
It depend if I can find a good 3D model and a good cross-section for references. With Star Wars, it easier to find both.
@@Halfscreen of cause, within 40K for guard vehicles at least there was a entire book that went in detail about their vehicles, your only challenge really would be the animation side of things.
@@voin5371 Man, that would be very challenging due to all the 3D models needed. Let me think about it.
@@Halfscreen ahh my apologies, I only wanted to give you an idea, didn't meant to being a burden, keep up the fab work thouh!
