I purchased the $140 kit soon after it came out. As you say, great kit, and a fun build. The UCS version looks incredible, but I don't like the ship that much to pay that type of money.
I just want to make note that the space in the smaller Razor is pretty impressive. The bed area and weapons area in the lower front feel like actual rooms which semi makes up for the lack of back room on the upper floor. Also though the main interior space in the larger is 8 studs wide (floor space) while the smaller one has 6 studs wide (floor space minus the column support beams occupy), you could easily dress up a wall on one side with a weapons locker and other interior detail.
Totally agree with you. I actually counted the number of studs length-wise and width of its interior (by downloading its build instruction pdf from rebrickable) before I decided to buy the play scale version. Its one of those rare Lego SW ships that has very efficient use of 'livable floor area' if you will. Kinda important when you need a "space camper van" for your galactic adventures. :-)
@@angmohnize-to-atasify indeed (about the space camper thing)! Last December I was only able to afford something a bit smaller (got the Armored Marauder) which I purchased for the purpose of transforming into just that, a space camper as you put it. I modified it but still a work in progress. But I was impressed with the usable floor space when you gut out some of the insides. 4 studs wide (center has elbow room from the recessed walls) and is something like 16 studs or more long (I gutted out the back turret seat and made it empty space and put the spinning turret on the roof in the same space). Later I widened the ship but now it looks like a fat box. It is not bad but not the profile I am going for. My new aim is to take the slender profile of the base Armored Marauder and add huge engines on the sides replacing the gun/storage side panels. It would then have a profile similar to the Razor Crest.
I love the new helmet print, because the T Visor of Din is slimmer than the normal Mandalorian ones. It looks like Dins now and not a recolored Boba/Mandalorian
Hopefully that helmet print is what we see on every Mandalorian figure from now on! I think it is obvious what most peoples favorite razor crest is, just wish it was a little cheaper.
I think the microfighters are a super nice small and fun addition to the line up. I think for the money you can’t go wrong for 10 bucks and make a little display corner with all the micro fighters. At least I do enjoy it as wel as the larger sets.
@@brooklynboiprod I prefer Polybags tho, the Microfighters need to make up space for the minifig which just makes it look incredibly inaccurate and comically chunky
Outsider looking in, the mircofighters are probably the best value than any UCS model. I don’t think UCS models are there for playability but, to look nice. I would def buy a microfighter 60 times than an entire UCS set.

I would like to add that the $130 model is crazy fun to mod. A bit of a pain, since the model was built so sturdy, but a fun project nonetheless. For mine so far, I've made the cockpit more detailed and replaced the back chair with 2 1-stud wide ones (which I think has a fun utilitarian feel regardless of accuracy), replaced the stud-shooter rack with a space for cargo as well as the vac-tube, and added a small gun rack next to the bed (even though it's in the wrong position). I'm in the process of making the engines a bit more accurate since I'm not a huge fan of how they did the front, and I think it might be interesting to mod the escape pod area with a space for a small speeder bike. The UCS one is cool, but for those who don't want to shell out $600 or who don't have the shelf space, modifying the play scale one is a good compromise.
When i got back into Lego around 2 years ago, the playscale Razor Crest was my first new "big set". It's a great set, nice construction, accuracy is fine and from a playability stand point it covers all the bases. Although, now i really have to get my hands on the UCS. I totally agree with you about the comparaison between the AT-AT and Razor Crest with their UCS vs Playscale models, this is a production pattern that Lego should do more often. Great comparaison video!
The ucs 1 is cool but it’s £600 where smaller 1 is £120 it might be smaller and not have all the details but it is £480 cheaper and it’s still cool the microfighter though u should only buy it for someone who’s starting with lego
I took out the two flat light bluish gray 1x3 corner tiles on my playscale Razor Crest and it made room for more control panels in the front. I agree it felt inadequate to have a single 1x2 panel when I was putting the cockpit together for the first time.
one thing I wish the designers did was make It displayable in a cross section format like the UCS AT-AT did so well. Although that would have probably led to losing some of those amazing angles the designers were able to pull off
I know right?? Beautiful and ALMOST perfect set - but if this came with the ability to take off landing gear AND a display stand it would be the perfect UCS set
I just finished building the 75292 set, and i do agree with you on most parts. Its a fun build, but needs a little more detail, however, with the UCS set, i have the falcon set, and its is amazing, but too big to show and play with. I'm a 50 year old youtuber, but with the size of the 75292, it sits perfect with other models i have. Problem i have is i combine both universes, and star trek kits look great along side this one, the UCS for me would be too big. The razor crest is my favorite ship from all of star wars, so its not a big surprise that im a fan of the lego versions. My family got the 2021 Star Wars advent calendar which included a miniature razor crest that had maybe 7 pieces, I bought the play size about half a year after it came out because it was the only other razor crest to get, and then i stayed up late to order the UCS model as soon as it released. While i was building the set, i realized that there was only the micro fighter version left so i opened my phone and ordered it same day shipping just so i could say “I have every razor crest lego set” And i think the UCS was the best purchase of my life, I’ve never had so much fun building a set, and I keep it on my dresser because that’s the only place it fits, and every time i walk past it i have to stop to admire it again, its just so beautiful.
in the ridiculous interior space on the $140 one, you can fit the speeder from trouble on tatooine or turn it into a mandalorian dropship with the battle pack!
I got the UCS razor crest today as a gift, I completely recommend it. I haven't finished it im not even close due to school but so far it's a great building experience/model
Would kill to get star wars lego sets again, used to get them from my grandma when i was little and they were affordable and you could get big ones and didnt have to worry about spending 500$ but now even the smallest 50-100 piece sets are $20+ shits sad
Great comparison! Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be getting any of these. The mid-tier $140 set is the one I would be most inclined to get, but I find the proportions and kind of blotchy color scheme to be less than desirable. I love the look of the UCS one, but the size and price are pretty big impediments.
I just bought the 140$ set. I already have the millennium falcon,bd1,k2so,the slave one,and the trench run set. I think it will be a fine addition to my collection😅
I think the playscale set is the best one to buy. It's more affordable, it arguably has better minifigs, and still retains all the key features while being super sturdy due to a strong Technic structure. The UCS set tries too hard to include everything and they don't mesh well together at all (the Boba Fett armor right next to the blue cookies and Imperial crates being a good example) and it feels like they just wanted to fill up space. It also includes stuff that's too specific (the frog eggs which only showed up in two episodes, the Boba Fett armor which is hardly seen in the ship, the blue cookies which are never seen in the ship) My main complaint with the playscale set is that it doesn't come with a speeder bike for the Scout Trooper, but for the price it's respectable enough, and there are plenty of other sets and battlepacks with speeders in anyway. Those sets also come with additional troopers for kids to put against the Razor Crest if they so desire. I'd personally go for the playset, but the UCS set is good for what it tries to be
I found that the speeder bike from the "Trouble of Tatooine" set fits into the $140 Razor Crest. A small feature, but I find that it adds a lot of value when you can store a speeder bike inside a vehicle. But obviously, it will fit into the UCS set as well.
I loved the Trouble on Tatooine set for introducing silver missile pieces. Swap them into all my Star Wars sets so the trans colored missiles or empty holes don't stand out.
The bigger set really would benefit from having the sides come off inside of the top. If they made the sides come off they could have parts of the interior connected to each side. Also for your dropped piece, TWEEZERS. There is also a mechanic grabber tool that would work. (The legoland guys actually use mechanic grabbers)
Not sure if someone else already mentioned it, but I'm pretty sure that the instructions were that color to highlight the color on the ship itself. Incredible packaging overall on the UCS build.
If u want to make the 140 dollar one look better in the cockpit you can just mod it and put a bunch of technical looking pieces and just put a weapons rack or if you really want to do more make a gunner position on the actual weapons rack
I purchased the UCS Razor Crest on the vip release date and the 140$ one a while back. I used to think the 140$ one was unbeatable but I had been hoping ever since the play scale one came out, that they would make a UCS model. And now that I have it built in person, it makes a stunning display piece and is also kind of a good play set for younger kids, well, except swooshing it around. I would say if you want a smaller set for a desk at a relatively affordable price, you should go for the 140$ one. If you have a very high budget and are looking for one of the best sets, with an amazing building experience, go for the UCS model. I feel that it is worth every penny. Also if you want to get a smaller child a small gift, get the micro fighter. That is the only reason you should get the micro-fighter. But that is only my opinion. Hope this helped if you wanted to get a razor crest but can’t decide which one you want.
Bro i dont have enough money to buy such a big ucs set so i only have the playscale one Which is a great set But seeing it compared to the ucs one The ucs one is god dam amazing
Interesting bit for displaying the smaller (and larger UCS would work well too I'm sure) of you have Mando's speeder, can set up a nice scene of him pulling it up onto the ramp of the Razorcrest
I’m here after building the UCS version. I’d say it’s a pretty chill building experience and the end product looks immaculate. I just wish they included more figs and printed silver tile pieces that look like beskar ingots.
MandR - you dropped the Coliseum from a ladder, so I really think you need to put an M1000 inside the razor crest and blow it up. I'm confident you will get more views and have more fun than that Coliseum video you enjoyed so much
I think the microfighter is actually a great pick if someone doesnt really want or have any of the other sets Mando comes in, but what I'm gonna do is try to build my own microfighter of it since it's such a small set anyway.
Great comparison, I have the small and medium Razor Crest and my daughter has just bought the UCS for X-mas. So will have some building to do in the new year. Also have joined Disney+ to watch the Mandalorian and Andor. As always excellent review, cheers from 🇦🇺
I have the $140 set, and it is one of the few Lego sets I have bought in the last few years that I regret. I'm not a fan of the engine build, and the overall build was kind of underwhelming to me.
the play scale one is pretty good deal right now for $100 almost. It's 125 CAD on amazon now. copped it. if you dont like the mando figure, you probably pick up the N1 starfighter set anyway if you are a fan and that comes with a good figure.
Get both the Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars Advent Calendars this year too as they are both really cool :). It is great to have a minifigure of Rocket and Groot.
I have the $140 razor crest. Bought in spring of 2021, and it is what got me back into legos. Sadly a month after I finished it it was smashed by a falling framed poster. I am now in the process of rebuilding it and having to order parts that have now gone missing.
i know this is unrelated but its honestly quite ironic where i accidentally clicked the dislike button and seconds later he says "be sure to like the video"
bro how can comparing all these three sets in a situation where obviously the ucs is the best, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Toyota and then a Toyota to an old bike. of course, the Ferrari is better but not everyone can afford one.
I purchased the $140 kit soon after it came out. As you say, great kit, and a fun build. The UCS version looks incredible, but I don't like the ship that much to pay that type of money.
It should have zero stickers at that price too but thankfully at least all of the interior are printed pieces.

Bro i dont have enough money to buy such a big ucs set so i only have the playscale one
Which is a great set
But seeing it compared to the ucs one
The ucs one is god dam amazing
I have all 3 and I can definitely say the UCS is best. No question
Interesting bit for displaying the smaller (and larger UCS would work well too I'm sure) of you have Mando's speeder, can set up a nice scene of him pulling it up onto the ramp of the Razorcrest
Watched your video while building bag five of the UCS Razor Crest, and the smaller play-scale version is on the shelf.
I'm confident you will get more views and have more fun than that Coliseum video you enjoyed so much
$10 Razorcrest is a must buy if you only want the figure
This was a great comparison. The details in the $600 one is just INSANE. I don't know where we would put it....
I think the microfighter is actually a great pick if someone doesnt really want or have any of the other sets Mando comes in, but what I'm gonna do is try to build my own microfighter of it since it's such a small set anyway.
Not the same mando though but he still looks pretty damn good all the same.
"Is that Steve Harvey?" LOL
$10 Razor Crest. Its a such a nice (small) but nice build! Grewat video!
This just makes me want to rebuild my UCS Slave 1! I'm definitely saving up for that UCS Razor Crest!
Lmao Ryan having trouble with the water bottle
It’s just gonna stay there 😂
Lol, 5 years pass by, what is that?
I have the play scale version and never bothered with the micro fighter but that UCS is looking sooooo good
I don’t have the space but that’s not keeping the UCS version off my Christmas list! Nice comparison.
Great comparison, I have the small and medium Razor Crest and my daughter has just bought the UCS for X-mas. So will have some building to do in the new year. Also have joined Disney+ to watch the Mandalorian and Andor. As always excellent review, cheers from 🇦🇺
1:12 as they what🤨
These are both excellent models with reasonable prices, I own the smaller one and I love it!
Ok

I have the $140 set, and it is one of the few Lego sets I have bought in the last few years that I regret. I'm not a fan of the engine build, and the overall build was kind of underwhelming to me.
I'm modding mine as soon as I get it, I think the base model looks good but the front of the engine look so weird!
Can you compare the Inqiustor schyte to the Razor Crest (2020)? It would be nice since both ships are around the same price and spaceships
the play scale one is pretty good deal right now for $100 almost. It's 125 CAD on amazon now. copped it.
if you dont like the mando figure, you probably pick up the N1 starfighter set anyway if you are a fan and that comes with a good figure.
I’ve been waiting for this review so thx! So yeah I don’t have the two big ones just the micro fighter.
I would highly recommend the advent calendar razor crest micro fighter to any Mandalorian fan.
The computer piece at 11:19 is from 1990s Blacktron. Is this piece commonly reused after all this time or is this something as an easter egg?
Get both the Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars Advent Calendars this year too as they are both really cool :). It is great to have a minifigure of Rocket and Groot.
Love the video! a i randomly got the thought that a micro-fighter mandalorian starfighter will be cool.
6:30 it looks like you can rotate the cookpit open as well
I have the $140 razor crest. Bought in spring of 2021, and it is what got me back into legos. Sadly a month after I finished it it was smashed by a falling framed poster. I am now in the process of rebuilding it and having to order parts that have now gone missing.
LMFAO “is that Steve Harvey”
Is that Steve Harvey?
Had me dying
i know this is unrelated but its honestly quite ironic where i accidentally clicked the dislike button and seconds later he says "be sure to like the video"
Pff acople hours nah personally I’d do it in like 1-1:20 hours
Not multiple hours
bro how can comparing all these three sets in a situation where obviously the ucs is the best, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Toyota and then a Toyota to an old bike. of course, the Ferrari is better but not everyone can afford one.
