Oh, man, Don! Now you’ve done it! Walter Wanderly’s “Summer Samba” was on the radio in dad’s ‘56 Olds when I said “Daddy let’s watch the train!” We stopped and watched a B&O freight here in New Castle, PA. Oh what a time it was…
I've been watching your Videos for Several Years. We've went under a few different names and channels. I may be your biggest Fan. Tunnel Looks Great like everything else on your Layout. It's so nice to see you coming out with videos again. I hope you will continue. I love watching the Best and Most Authentic Appalachian Model Railroad in the World. Being from West Virginia this is Spot On. In a few years I want to tear down our Layout and do a complete rebuild focusing on West Virginia Coal and Small Town WV. I remember watching the B&O pass right in front of my house at The Crossing in Reader WV on the Shortline Railroad that Ran from Clarksburg WV to New Martinsville WV hauling lots of Coal and Freight. The line is still there and still active with CSX at the Helm. Theres a Tressel and a B&O Tunnel a few miles down the Tracks from Reader that looks similar to the one you just built. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022. Matt and Jebb
Thanks Matt and Jebb....lots of movies planned for January......let me know if I can help you when you are ready to start your project. I have lots of pics.....
@@Industrialmodels2 OK Sounds Great. May need some help in the Future. I'm so glad to hear you have plenty more videos coming. Can never get enough of your Layout. I bet it's something to really see in Person. I'll be excitingly waiting for the next one. We have some Videos of our Layout including an Overview. I have lots of Buildings but will need to Weed Some of them out when we do another Layout. I want this one to be more realistic. This was our 1st Big Layout and I've learned I'm not real happy with it and theres so much more I'd like to do. I have 5 different Loops because my Son Jebb whose 7 Loves to go down to the Basement and Run Trains. Plus I have 4 other Grandchildren ages 1 thru 4. Figured that would give all of them a Train to Run. Matt
Well done! Fantastic modeling work! Additionally- Those of us that are old enough to appreciate and remember the "beautiful music" of the era... We "get it". We understand and appreciate the music and pop culture of days gone by... It's all interwoven into our recollections of what would be the tail end of classic railroading. So nicely captured here. Thank you for sharing!
I always love your videos and this project was an amazing addition to the layout. O scale for the win! And Summer Samba....the second it started it was already stuck in my head lolol.
@@Industrialmodels2 Can't wait your 2 rail layout looks simple as far as simplicity and maintenance goes where other big o scale layouts look like it takes weeks to clean and are cluttered with to much detail in one area, also it's hard to find 2 rail locomotives to purchase at this time and atlas takes forever and sell very quickly
@@cow212tst yes simplicity was a goal from the start....it's a lot of work maintaining an O scale layout....more than I bargained for honestly. It's not just keeping the tracks clean, it's cleaning the engines, rolling stock, maintaining switches, keeping buildings clean etc. Then there are updates to be done. Layouts age.....will try to film a walk around this week.....
Don that's some amazing work you did in just under 7 minutes. I knew you had super powers! Anyways three questions. What is the name of the foliage you used for the hillside and where did you get it? Thirdly, when can we get a layout tour? Your layout is on my bucket list but a virtual tour will do for now.
Thanks....so Super Trees from Scenic Express is the way to go. Its expensive but worth it. Get the value pack for both the trees and leaf flock. For flock I use equal parts spring green with summer green. The slight variation in color allows you to see more leaf detail and they look more realistic. I use 3M super 77 adhesive spray (in the red can). I tried hairspray and other adhesives but this works best for keeping the flock on the trees. If you are trying to create a large forest the variation in tree profile of the Super Trees prevents the "puff ball" effect you often see on model railroads. I am going to make a virtual tour movie in January.....promise!
Nice job thank you for sharing good music too easy to listen to.
Wow Phenomenal Work . Simply amazing affects that are so well done . Thanks for sharing Your Work ! 🙂

Fantastic job! I can imagine wading in that ice cold water - very realistic results.
BTW... thanks for the earworm! 🤣
Yes exactly....there was a price paid for those rocks!! Just glad the creek wasn't frozen over.... :)
You're layout is amazing. Now I'm humming that tune!

Tunes like that are very infectious.
And take you back!
Wow I didn’t even realize that watching the mine run video!! Looks great!
Summer Samba, Walter Wanderly. Nice! :-) Haven't heard that in years. Not sure what I enjoyed more: The music or the model railroad!m Great idea!
Excellent job, Don!
You are the master of water!
Outstanding layout!
When will we get a full view of the layout
Soon!

No sorry....some day I will learn how to use that software. I will do a layout tour soon....
So nice!
