    The footage in this video doesn't show the real struggle Olivier faces on the court. He is by far the slowest player on the court. He can't rotate at all. There is no way he can play in the NBA. The Muresan comparison is interesting. But Muresan would be run out of the league today. I don't know what the university of Florida's medical staff is worth, but they need to work miracles if Olivier is going to play pro ball.

  • @TheNray69
    @TheNray69 2 місяці тому +11

    The comparison with Gheorghe Muresan is pretty accurate. If this was the 90's, he'd be a lock as a future NBA player. Nowadays he'll probably be a bench warmer at most. If Taco Fall and Bol Bol can't play, it's very unlikely he will. Every position must be able to guard the 3 point shot and sadly, I don't think he'll be ever fast enough.

    Being tall isn’t the only thing that makes you good at basketball the reason we never see people that are almost 8 feet tall is because of the amount of stress it puts on their legs so it’s more about the physical aspect against high schools he might dominate but against the pros he will most likely struggle do to being so tall

    • @BoboMcBooboy

      You legitimately gave the most basic comment for this video that you could have POSSIBLY given... If somebody is watching this video, then they already know everything you just said here about frame/body issues with being THIS big...
      ...But its actually worse then just making a really basic comment...
      "The reason we (almost) NEVER see people that are ALMOST 8 FEET TALL, is because basically, for all intents and purposes, NOBODY in the entire world is "almost 8 foot tall."
      World population at the moment is a touch over 8 billion... Back when it was 7.4 or so, there were roughly 2800 people in the world 7 foot, or taller...
      ...That is 0.000038% of the ENTIRE WORLD population... And that is meerly 7 foot or taller...
      ...Nevermind being "almost 8 FOOT OR TALLER"
      "Being tall isnt the only thing that makes you good at basketball" - Like... seriously... why even start off a comment saying this... its just SO obvious, it didnt need to be said. Its just so goofy lol.

    Tacko Fall, who had a very good built, was also the heaviest player in the NBA at 305lbs. He didn't pan out, but he's probably got a bundle in the bank. This kid should play 4 years of college, hit the NBA and retire a millionaire at 30.

      @@YD-pl5rnNo he can't. He's a 3 star recruit, do you not understand what that is or have you never learned how recruiting works. That means he's unlikely to ever even play in the NBA. He'd have to develop his game a great deal to even have a chance

    It's pretty clear he won't dominate college basketball. As a walk on, he will be lucky if he even gets in the game other than blowouts. At that size, though, he's sure to be a fan favorite 4th string player.

    Is he good? As much as people poke fun of Shawn Bradley, he doesn't have 1/10 the athleticism and mobility. Unless he goes crazy with big man skills he's not going to persevere in the NBA.
