@Samson-h6l he was a role player who was part of Jackson's winning coaching. He had one of the best teams on the court with him, and Rodman was making up for his lack of rebounding. You could put any center in that team, playing the triangle and they would do the same if not better.
@ No, you couldn't. You needed big bodies to defend (and commit fouls) on big centres like Shaq, and Longley was huge, tough and could even pass a bit. If "any centre" could do it, why did they choose him?
You'd think an international GM, like my Bulls, has would have this kid on his radar. The fact that his parents were athletes and the kid has a swimming back ground, means he's been developed in a healthy environment. I'd like to think this makes him less injury prone and able to run for days. He is also not awkwardly proportioned or clumsy for his size. Then, the thing I like about him is that aggressive glimpse I saw in those highlights. He seems to have a little nastiness to him, and that's attractive to someone from Chicago at the start of MJ's career.
@redhorse6652 why do people keep bringing up Luc Longley. He was below average and terrible as a center (in an age of legendary centers). Rodman had to cover for his terrible rebounding.
@@alimfuzzy so wrong about big Luke. You yung-uns need to research more than highlight videos on players from the past. Big Luke was the starting center on a team that won the tittle 3 years in a row. Those that still believe MJ won those tittles with no help are delusional.
@edwardthames9003 I watched NBA in the 90s and even met Luc. He's a great guy and coach. But in the Bulls he was a role player. He did his pick and roll, he put his body up against much better centers and took up space but wasnt good at rebounding. Rodman is what got the bulls through the championship over Longley. And when you have MJ, Pippen, Rodman, Kerr, and Kukoc and lead by Jackson, well there's a reason why Luc was overlooked (sure it was wrong to do so) for The Last Dance. You could of replaced Luc with almost any other hald-decent center and under Jackson would of done just as good.
Needs a three point shot, needs a faster first step and lateral quickness. A better other sport is soccer, not swimming, too bad he was a swimmer. Water polo like Jokic would have been a better choice too. Looks more like a Taco Falls than a Wemby.
You forgot to mention Big Luc Longley
Luc Longley was a below average player.
@@alimfuzzy Lottery pick, multiple time NBA champion (as a starter). He might struggle in today's NBA but in his own era he had value.

Just realized I misspelt Aaron Baynes name. Sorry Aaron.

Mabie this guys a new Luc Longley. But a little lighter.

He is going to be a great player.
"Born and rasised on the Sunshine coast..." [shows pic of the Gold Coast], anyway nice vid, thanks.
He def looks like a player for the future.
😭🤣
Team duncan is a swimmer switch to basketball..because of the shark😅 i hope spurs pick this guy
Ben Simmons? 😂
When will he be drafted?
This upcoming draft I believe
Dude really said Ben SImmons for incredible talents.
He is mostly just taller than most of the players that he plays against.
another Bolbol in the making.
Ben Simmons..Andrew Bogut …Patty Mills ? Ouch
Now they’re going to unleash a 7’2 Mathew Delladova …named Rocco?
Absolutely Awesome!
Bogut and Mills were key to Championship teams.
Now we know you don't watch basketball when you dissed Bogut and Mills. Those 2 are key pieces to GS 2015 and Spurs 2014 championships.
nothings new. hes just an average center player.
That's not true. A good center is RARE in the NBA. My Lakers have been trying to find one for years. They haven't found one yet.
@rozburg Hes just like european center player. Flatfooted soft and can hardly jump. lol
Did he dunk on you in high school 😂@@Redwoodsting
@@Bunyipz I did posterize him lol!
🐐
Pls go play with the spurs
Maybe if we back in 90s ..no internet scouts

Tim Duncan was a swimmer training to qualify for the Olympics (1992) before he switched to basketball.
