As a kid this was the first buildable RC I ever owned. Unfortunately back then getting help was new impossible. No internet, the hobby shop in the next town over wasn't much help so I was on my own. I know now 30 years later that I must've burned the ball diff and possibly the slipper clutch. Thank you for re-releasing this car so I can have another chance to do it the right way.
Back when the world's car was out. This was back in 94'. I wanted it for Christmas. What I ended up with was a late model C stamp championship edition. I raced that car, I bashed that car, had a blast with that car! ( Raced @ hobby haven in Livermore CA , and hobby warehouse in Sacramento CA) This was back in the good old days! When you can walk into a hobby shop and the walls with pegboard were full of nothing but associated parts!! Enough Parts on the wall to build several vehicles! Kits of various models were stacked high to the ceilings! ( Wolds hobbies in Dublin CA , Sheldon's hobbies San Jose California) I'll never forget these times! . I do want to say.. thank you for bringing this car back out! But I will add a black chassis set to mine. I ordered my kit last night. AE#1
I used to buy a magazine in the UK (1988/89) called "radio race car" and at the back was all the top, races, drivers, cars, and lap times printed like proper spreadsheets. Is was 2wd RC10, and topcat behind. 4wd yokomo maybe a bosscat or a lazer behind. Nice video
My first Real RC was the RC10 gold pan. Bought used in 84 or 85. Original trans. Got into the local racing scene. At the time, the money I put into that thing to make it competitive was insane. Lol. Loved every minute of it. The only regret I had was selling it. But, I have another stashed away, and plan to bring it back to it's former glory. That car started a 40 year passion of anything RC. Many have come and gone. Don't make me count how many I have right now. Lol. Thanks for the memories.
Back in the late 80's when I was racing you hade AE and Losi around here, and it was very much a Ford vs. Chevy type deal, but a bit more good natured. I kept every single car I have ever had including the RC10 and 12 on road cars. It was just so much fun back then. Yellow, red then black batteries all by Sanyo IIRC. I tried to go back several years ago and it is just not the same, not that it should be. Perhaps now that I am retired I will try it again, but with all the old stuff. I am pretty stuck in the past.
I'd like to see more info on the unreleased 89 and 91 World Championship winning cars and why they were never mass produced. Great video though love learning the history of the products.
If you guys did a cliff lett edition of the 91 works YZ-10 I would buy four of them. Also if you re-released some of the Reedy stock and modified brushed motors I would buy them by the dozen.
I still have my Team Associated RC12E! Raced at an indoor/outdoor track called Rattys Raceway, in North Attleboro, MA. Well before brushless motors and Lipo’s! I still have my first RC10 as well . I even have my Bolink Elec-Rider motorcycle! Needless to say, my RC car collection pisses my wife off to no end. The highlight of my career was meeting Pete and Re-Pete Fusco (anyone remember them????). I learned from Pete how to true tires on 1/8 scale gas cars on the abrasive track surface on the outdoor circuit. Bill Ratty was not thrilled about that mess!
Nice to these iconic cars coming. I’ll have to wait a bit for this, got the 40th that is a runner and just finished the Halsey edition, thats going to sit on the shelf looking all sweet and pretty 😁
I'm feeling no urge to build my 40th anniversary kit without vintage electronics. Is re releasing some 80's-90's brushed motors and vintage style speed controllers an option? It would be neat to have a vintage battery pack, even if it was just individual cell wraps around standard ni-xx cells
I would buy a new team car every year for the upcoming race season in the 90’s. By far my favorite time to be an RC racer. It’s cool to see all the different RC 10 collector cars coming out. However I will never buy one because I think the fun in having an RC car is racing it. I don’t want to buy a car and have the threat of it being discontinued in a year or afraid to get it dirty.
Team Associated, if you're listening. Make a "lite weight" B7 like the B6.1. Not only will the stock racers eat it up but would be a great seller in the oval community. Carbon chassis, 3gear tranny ect.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge RC10 fan (I have 11 of them). But AE threatens legal action against current companies that have stepped up to support the cars AE abandoned for years. Yet, AE openly admits to blatantly copying RPM and MPI upgrades to put in their own kits. Sure, AE made minor changes but they didn’t care about stealing ideas from other companies.
Asked a few buddies who raced back in the day as well.... we came to the conclusion that Associated made too many gold pans for original edition re release and wanted to use em up. Just speculation tho. I had the original black pan Team Car as well, and would have been sweet to see it again. Still an awesome car. ME WANTS!!! lol

Things were a lot better in the past. Stay stuck there 👍🏻

Awesome.
Man I wish I could afford one of these new RC-10s.
I'm restoring a A stamp right now that'll be a runner as long as I can find parts. 😁😁

Its still the best looking RC..

I still have my 1984 gold pan I built new in 1984, 40 years later I just built my B7 last week. 😁

I gave up in 84 could not afford an RC when it was launched ;-( scorpion was my last car I raced, I have a gold pan now though :-)
so this is a re-release of the #6035 black chaise but gold
Correct. Same car, just different color chassis.
@@TeamAssociatedRC same weight too?
I got a double A stamp Team car which is unusual

Are they offering parts for this one?
Yes, parts will be available for all re-release Team Associated vehicles.
When is Team Associated releasing a credit line/card!😅 cha-ching! I'd be buying alot more of them. Think about it.
👍

cliff looks like brain cranston...
I was seriously considering this but went for the Cougar works which is also much better value.
Gah , why not the correct black chassis!

too bad they never fixed the bump steer .
