I was stationed at Grissom AFB, IN, back in the early '80s. There was a guy in Peru who built one of these and you'd see him flying it around his farm. I was told he had to accumulate "X" number of hours in it before he could take it across country.
Beautiful resto. The A&P School I attended had one donated to them it came to us in boxes unfinished myself and a few other students wanted to finish it but for some reason the staff wouldn't let us. I found out some years later that they had scrapped her. Boy was I Pissed!!!! Anyway nice Scorp!
I remember over 40 years ago now when I was first introduced to the Dcorpion ll helicopter. Lately I've been looking around for one. Absolutely love that design. Well as much as you can love an object anyway. They're just not around. I even do a project like this guy did. Anybody knows the one please let me know on here. I live in central lower Michigan.
hi. has it been sold? I read that this Scorpion had difficulties with vibrations (of the main rotor), is that true. Please, let me know, whether you sold it. Thanks a lot.
I have always wanted to own one of these. When I came home from Viet Nam in 1971 I got to fly one at the factory, It was fun. Alot different than flying a bell aircraft. I have over 10,000 hours in helicopters and would love to own one. Is this one for sale and how much?
ROTORWAY SCORPION152 • $10,000 • SALE FELL THROUGH • Later model RW Scorpion with 152 engine Still has the cable hub design. This ship is close to the kind of machine I taught myself to fly in. But it has a much better engine. I've installed the longer tail blades and big fan blade. More upgrades have been installed. Two barrel Delarto carb and a CD ignition system have been put in. These are both very desirable upgrades from years ago. I've changed out the blades, so I can offer it for the lower price even with the added upgrades. Has been tracked and balanced using DynaVibe balancer. Very inexpensive helicopter to get started with • Contact Homer K. :::::: Mr. Zogg Thank you for you service ,, I was born 1970 and loved those years and would go back any day... but nothing beats this look . This body was also used on a hot rod in those times which was one of my favorites “ copter rod” Dick Tracy’s car I think ...... thanks again
If only I could find ONE video of someone with the guts to fly-away in one ... even for a three-minute flight.
That was my dream machine back in the 70's Ordered the info packs and even talked to BJ Schramm. Thanks!
Happy New Year Sir

skyangle do you still work on these birds.
What rpm does she wind up to?
Wow!!!!!AWESOME, LOVE IT....
It looks like the collective position for flight, would be uncomfortably high for the arm.
How much is this?
Do these things actually fly, or just hover over the ground a little bit? Can’t find any videos of them flying.
they can fly but the pilots are usually too scared to go higher than they're willing to crash from.
Looks like a lot of fun
Looks like a flying Bond Bug.
I can so close to ordering one but I had to pay for college instead.
Surprised you could find parts for it.
I really like it except for that belt driven tail rotor.
That thing is pretty sharp looking! Restored? Does that mean they no longer make this bird??
Sadly, no

4shellma all about balancing the blades and making sure tracking is setup correctly. Once dialed in they are pretty smooth .
