    I remember that alcantara is also known as ultrasuede and it has been in the industry for more that 25 years because it is a very light material besides it was used on race cars because it is flame retardant. It was invented by a Japanese and is owned by a Japanese company named Torey or Toray, sorry forgot the exact name, but more high end vehicles have it, specially Japanese cars besides Italian cars, obviously.

    I've known a few people who have damaged their alcantara interior using this exact product. They followed every single step like the instructions said.

      Really?! Alcantara is pretty durable. I’ve cleaned plenty of alcantara surfaces with no issues. What exactly did they do?

      @@MirandaDetailing I'm on a Dutch carcleaning/detailing forum and there are a few complaints about this product.
      I wasn't there when they used it but looking at their reviews they didn't do anything other then following what was written on the product itself.
      Their complaints were that the alcantara started losing it's "hairs" and become grey-ish and look faded.
      Those guys even went to the Dutch headquarters of Sonax and they also comfirmed the problems that particular customer was experiencing.
      The car was an Audi S8.

    AMMO NYC Lather is super gentle on all fabrics. Works brilliantly on Alcantara and most headlinings

    I used this product on my Audi SQ5 Alcantara seats and it left dry blotches from where the foam was initially sprayed on. After i sprayed, I used a brush to work the foam into the Alcantara then used a moist rag to clean up. I followed exact directions on the bottle and it still left those botches. Any reason why? And how do i get rid of them

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 місяці тому +2

      It may have left marks like that since it was concentrated in small areas. I have found that sometimes you need to spread the cleaner over the entire area and even it all out so there are no dry areas. Maybe try cleaning the rest the area all the way to the edges and evenly wet the area. Make sure you leave no dry areas.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +3

      Hi. You can but I would tread lightly on those. Usually steaming them and towel drying is less aggressive on some delicate alcantara

    Off subject question, love the videos but you used an engine detailing spray on a car and then blew it around with a blower to finish it out without having to wipe down every nook and cranny in one of your videos but I can not find it. Can you point me to the product? Thanks

      Glue residue probably needs a solvent and of some sort. This cleaner would not remove glue unfortunately.

      Me too...🤷🏻‍♂️. I have products that I will probably never use becasue I don’t come across certain situations.... like Dr Beasley’s Salt Chisel, in the northeast sure, not here I’ll most likely never use it. But I can still show it as a viable option to use for people who do come across those issues, even if I can’t show exactly what it does.
