    Thanks for the video. Followed exactly what the video showed, step by step and it was a super easy install. I have basic DIY mechanic skills. What made this install easy, was having the right tools, in this case, box wrenches and an extender for my ratchet. I walked in the installation with low confidence and came out like a pro, super fun install.

    I haven’t done anything more than change my own serpentine belt on a beater. Having a newer mustang and seeing this video was very intimidating. I finally did it over the weekend and it was the install from hell. Most of it due to my own lack of experience. It’s 3 am rn and it’s finally installed, and IT FEELS SO GOOD. I can’t wait to actually bang some gears tmrrw. 2 days of my life, well worth it

    The best Mustang shifters on the market. Period. There is no equal to an MGW. Well worth its full asking price. A Gen 2 MGW shifter transformed my GT500. Customer service second to none as well!!!!

    I installed an MGW Race Spec (standard shifter/standard handle with OEM Knob Adapter in a 2016 S550 GT-PP that is all stock) about three weeks ago. I gave myself plenty of time and went step-by-step with the video. I had no problems with the install which took several hours (hard to say how long because of several interruptions). I have no complaints about increased noise, vibration or harshness after three weeks of varied driving. What's definitely gone are the weird rattles and buzzes from the stock shifter. I'm very happy with the length of the throw and the height of the shifter, and I like the push-down for reverse operation retaining the stock shift knob. The quality of the MGW product is immediately evident when you unpack the parts and it's really impressive when in use.

      4X4XFAR how is it slamming gears?? Havent had a lock out issues yet but the sloppyness on the stocker is annoying !Very intrested in this shifter. Not really too worried about it nvh increase as i have xpipe and roush axlebacks

    Did this today and it took every minute of 5 hours. I'm not sure how they prepped the Mustang in the video, but they're swinging a ratchet in spaces I can barely fit my hand. It wasn't hard because the video prepares you pretty well, but doing it on jack stands without dropping the exhaust or driveshaft is a chore. I had to loosen the exhaust and hang my full weight on the transmission to get that bolt in the front of the bridge... and the one on the front of the linkage is no picnic either.
    Glad I did it, but damn... I'm gonna feel it tomorrow.

    Installed mine a few days ago with my buddy. Only had the front of car lifted. Took us 3-4 hours not bad at all! Install isn’t that hard honestly. Anyways, first impressions were that it was extremely notchy and required lots more effort. Been a few days now and it’s gotten more smooth. I absolutely love it. I have the x spec standard profile. Drove my buddy’s low profile and didn’t like it much. Too low for my taste. I recently got to feel out a Barton v3 shifter and yes it was more smooth then the MGW. But the Barton owner and I both agreed the MGW was a better overall shifter due to how precise it is and felt more engagement. Also, MGW’s customer service is the best!!

      Very accurate assessment and keep in mind it will continue to get smoother over the first 500 miles!!

    I’m not gonna lie it took me 11 hours to install but not because of the shifter but because some nuts and bolts just got stuck and jack stands ect. I definitely recommend removing the exhaust for this install. I like the quality of the materials really premium i thought i was going to have to reuse a lot of stuck from oem but almost a full replacement which was cool. My shifter didn’t need to be adjusted which was cool

    Love your product just wish you included a separate plastic collar so we don't have to cut the original in case we sell the car and want to revert it to the stock shifter plus it'll make it easier on us DIY'ers.

    I'm having issues with mine ive got a 2016 gt350.
    I've never missed 2nd and 4th gear now when racing the car I'm missing 2nd and 4th gear I'm not sure whats going on but not to happy is there a way to adjust it so 2nd and 4th isn't so far back? Ive had a mgw race spec in my 50 year edition gt and no issues but my shelby is a different story

    I get what you guys do with the modification of the boot but you could’ve done a better job with showing the cut and spot to cut on the inner plastic part of the boot better. This is a very unique way to modify the shift boot and this step should’ve been more up close and personal. Other wise great shifter.

    Hey I just installed my MGW shifter and my 1st to 2nd is not feeling smooth going into gear I think I might of had a lock out going to 3rd I can't really tell because my shift ball is loose I don't want to put lock tite on the ball until I know the shifts are correct. How smooth are your shifts especially from 1to2 on normal driving? Mine shifter seems lined up more to the right and takes effort from neutral to get it into 1st gear. Does it supposed to fell this way or should I adjust it? Thx oh I have a 2015 Gt

    Is it necessary to remove the entire console? I’ve seen other videos showing the shifter bezel to be the only interior trim piece removed.

    How are you getting into Reverse?? Are you pushing down then up and over???

    • @MGWINC
      @MGWINC  8 місяців тому

      yes same design as the 2011-2014 cars which I much prefer. Just push down over and forward. It also makes the shifter look more traditional instead of that goofy rental car push up collar under the knob.

    Is the crossmember torque really 76ft-lbs for a 2019 bullitt? Feels like it’s going to strip even trying to hit 60ft-lbs.

    I had a real hard time following this video for install,it was way too fast and some narrating would be extremely helpful. I would also add for each step pan to a transmission setup with noting around. I couldn’t tell where things went from your camera view with the driveshaft blocking the view. Took me 10 hours to install this on jackstands. Had trouble every step of the way even removing the exhaust and driveshaft. Took 2 hours to separate the darn console I was afraid of breaking it. Thank you for producing this fine product though.

  • @ironair67

    Is the old video still available? I much preferred to listen to you describing what you were doing, not having to read it while trying to watch the video at the same time.

      The 57:39 one. UA-cam says you removed it. Please, can you put it back up.

    • @MGWINC
      @MGWINC  7 років тому +2

      I had to remove it because SEVERAL steps are wrong on the old video and it was causing way too much confusion and issues. The new video is MUCH easier to actually follow and the typing allows you to pause it and read it not keep rewinding and trying to figure our what was said. Also if you follow the old video you will have problems with the install. It's NOT accurate

      I installed a previous generation without the bridge assembly on a 2014 and appreciated the verbal comments too. The hardest thing was getting that rubber boot installed. It helped give me the confidence to do the install on my own. I'm about to buy the new on for a 2018 GT I am waiting on so I've been through this video a few times since i'm going to be doing this on jack stands and wanted to make sure i didn't have to drop the driveshaft and exhaust.
