MGW > Anything Else. MGW manufactured gun parts before they got into the shifter game. They only know how to build precision/high quality parts. I went to their shop in Georgia and met the owner who actually installed the shifter in my S197 for free. Really nice people and awesome company.

Waiting on my MGW shifter now! I called Barton for weeks, emailed 5 times, never got any response from them. MGW responded within a day. That alone made all the difference. I don’t have much confidence buying from a company that does not even email back. Extremely excited to get the MGW in, going in at the same time as my Gen 5 whipple!
After installing this with my buddy, first impressions were that it was extremely notchy and required lots more effort. Been a few weeks now and it’s very smooth and precise. I absolutely love it. I have the x spec standard profile. Drove my buddy’s low profile and didn’t like it much. Too low for my taste. I recently got to feel out a Barton v3 shifter and yes it was more “buttery” smooth then the MGW. But the Barton owner and I both agreed the MGW was a better overall shifter due to how precise it is and felt more engagement. Also, MGW’s customer service is the best!!
When you boost your car, your channel will DRASTICALLY get boosted as well. Trust me
I installed the Barton Two post bracket for that flimsy stock bracket. It made a difference but not as much as I'd like. Looks like a new shifter is in the future. Thanks for the review and details about it.
I have a 2017 Z51 Corvette but this channel has me really considering trading it in for a 19 GT with red interior. Thanks for the vids bro, keep it up!
Don’t do it. I am doing the opposite. Going from GT to Vette. Manual transmissions have lot of problems. 10 speed is the way to go but then its not that fun just pressing the gas pedal. Vette is also alot nimble and faster for manual vs manual. 3300 lbs vs 3800 lbs.

Its nice and all but the mt82 will lock you out from shifting too fast on upper rpm levels. It doesn’t work with power shifting either. I tried the mgw, clutch spring change, transmission mount, and BG Synchro Shift 2 fluid swap. Even then had problems with the transmission. Ford needs to drop the Tremec in the GT’s.
al a mantic or McLeod clutch will solve it
Never missed a shift in my 19 Bullitt yet still on stock shifter 7400rpm shifts 12.16 115 mph 100% stock down to the tires
Know its been four years, but in the last four years I have had 5 MT82 Gt's. Put about 30-40k miles on each. Currently boosted at 1,000 to the rear, on the ORIGINAL MT82, with only a Lethal LPXHD Twin Clutch upgrade, AND I shift at 8k. You sir are doing something wrong. MT82 is only a bad transmission because people like you who don't know how to properly drive a manual say it is.

Yea i got a chance to check out my buddy's MGW......I have a Barton and it has a way longer throw than the MGW. The Barton has very little play after the break-in phase (quick shifting at 6k rpm) and overall feels tighter. But the MGW has a VERY short throw.

I had a barton shifter installed in my 2019 when i purchased it.. i should a start a utube channel.. my car has lower springs..barton shifter and tints..

I just ordered the MGW X spec shifter with standard handle so I can use the OEM shift knobs with the MGW adapter from ford performance. Looking forward to it. 21% decrease with that set up.

How long was the actual install? Labor hours?
The only reason I’d choose the Barton over the MGW is the Barton retains the stock reverse lockout instead of the old push down reverse lockout.
Everyone says the MGW feels better though
Skullcrusher Gaming I used to say that. Ended up getting the MGW on my 2017 GT PP. I now prefer the push down so much more.
adrian m8 If I didn’t constantly have to get in 2019 Mustangs (I’m a salesman for Ford) I would get used to it pretty fast. But constantly switching back and forth would be a pain

Hey Rush. Another great video as always. I just had the Steeda Race STS put on my 2018 BY PP1 and the garage that installed it threw away my factory bottom rubber shift boot. The Steed a requires the reuse of the stock boot. I believe the MGW comes with its own. If you still have your stock one would you consider selling it to me? Or if you know anyone who may have one. Thanks buddy.

I have a raceseng knob and just bought a mgw. Did you need to buy a new collar for the shift boot. I know mgw used to make an aftermarket collar that works great with the raceseng but I don't believe they make them anymore.

I have this mod as well. It didn't stiffen the clutch as much I would have liked, unfortunately. But still better than stock.
Im planning on getting an ecoboost 6speed had a 2012 v6 and the lockout really ruined the mustang for me with the lockout how’d your with the trans upgrade did it help with high rpm lockout

Ive never been locked out of gears on my 16 but i do not like the transmission. It makes to many noises, and its just sloppy. Im definitely getting a shortthrow. !

Whats the point of shifting faster when the rpms dont drop fast enough because of rev hang for a smooth shift?
