- White House says Russia is developing a space-based anti-satellite weapon that is troubling for the United States but poses no immediate threat to people on Earth. But Moscow denies the claims as "malicious" and "unfounded", describing them as a white house ploy to try to pass a multi-billion-dollar Ukrainian war aid package stalled in Congress.

Western colonialism ended decades ago, it's end began after WW2. Are you using the past as an excuse to do something stupid like putting a nuclear weapon in space? Russia has never been colonized, so... what's the purpose of that weapon? To start a space race to put as many weapons in space? Russia already has weapons to take out satellites, why do they need to put a nuclear warhead in space? Is it really a EMP weapon to take out the electric grid of a nation? Say the US. Such an attack with take out the power from cities, the US military system are hardened to such attack. The military will survive & reply in kind, such as launching nuclear weapons against cities in Russia. Because an EMP attack will wreck the US as a nation.

I think the information is wrong. It's not a nuke. It's some sort of sattelite with a nuclear reactor, this is used to power weapons like a strong electromagnetic pulse to deactivate other sattelites or even burn them with a laser.
