Is this another example which may give the perception that USA MAY NOT BE A RELIABLE FRIEND OR ALLY AND CAN BE TRUSTED IF PROBLEMS CONTINUE FOR LONG PERIODS. Examples of lack of trust may include not only now in the case of Israel but earlier Ukraine and Afghanistan who was abandoned.
France President has called on EU countries not to be over dependent on the USA for defence security but to be self reliant indicating USA may not relied upon even via NATO agreement. India may also be considering its relationship with USA after USA threatened India with sanctions after India signed an agreement with Iran regarding a ten years + management contract of one of Iran ports.
