PLEASE do every Tool song from the beginning. Your reactions are fucking fantastic! You offer more than "oh wow that sounds really cool" like most reactors. I appreciate your candor and your vulnerability - this is what Tool is. And I'd love your reaction to the evolution of the band and how it relates to your personal evolution. Thanks for all you do!
Holy shit....I'm speechless. We just witnessed the true power of this one a kind band. You are such a genuine, kind soul. Hope you're doing well. Thank you for your encouraging words. Much love from the old continent, my friend. Happy New Year!👍😉🤘
As a victim myself, I would say I love this song. Because it’s somewhat of an anthem for those that have been through it. Don’t feel bad for liking the song. When I heard this song for the first time it made me realize I wasn’t alone
If you listen to Tools discography from the beginning you hear Maynard’s journey of emotions. You literally hear from album to album how he lashes out, copes, reflects and forgives. Accompany that with the amazing composition & musicianship and you have a simply once in a lifetime creative force to experience. Really appreciate your channel, keep it up…and keep reacting to Tool!
I have watched a lot of Tool reactions and yours are by far my favorite! It takes a certain degree of intelligence, self awareness, and life experiences to truly grasp the meaning to a Tool song and you figured that shit out in just the first listen. Seriously impressive. I really am looking forward to you doing the entire discography.
Wow! I was not expecting this type of reaction. Thank you for your openness and trust with such a heavy experience. I am sorry that it happened to you. On a lighter note, Tool’s lyrics go from dark and heavy, silly and ridiculous, sad, angry, philosophical and spiritual. (Have I missed anything?) cheers man! Love the reactions!
Thanks for sharing. As a life long Tool fan, it’s touching to see when people connect deeply with their music like I do, good or bad. Much respect man.
I am always torn on this song. It might be my favorite song musically and Maynard paints the picture of the abuse cycle in an amazing way. It's just too real that I have a hard time listening to it. Great music makes you feel something, this song takes that to a level that I didn't know existed.
I love Prison Sex this is my favorite song, the extended version they do live is amazing! Maynard adds a few verses that really bring home the message of the song. It talks about the cycle of sexual abuse how the abused always has the choice turn into the abuser. I am really sorry to hear about your abuse. 😢
Please react to their entire discography, the evolution of the music is more than relatable. Tool has helped me evolve and continues to do so. Great reaction, do yourself (and the Tool Army) a favor and start your Tool journey from the beginning. I would be honored to witness your personal growth and connection to the music.
Thank you so much for your courage, your honesty, your reactions, your taste and judgment. You said you forgave your friend and you said “of course” as if that’s the norm. It is not. You’re a kind soul.
You're doing well if you've got your head around things at 27. I was well into my 40s before I even began to get there, especially with the dad thing as mine was the same but with an extra dose of guilt. Getting beyond these things is what most of Tool's music is about. The first step is recognition and acceptance. "H" is a similar song about breaking with the past and taming one's demons, if lyrically more cryptic. We appreciate your honesty much more than typical reactor sensationalism.
I was tossing and turning so much in bed thinking about watching this! So I got back tf out of bed and just watched it.. The instrumental part of this song is excellent ! But the song and the lyrical content and meaning behind it is very, very heavy, Tool using their artistic platform to convey this in a different way than usual is quite profound imo, but also quite confronting.. I'm so sorry you went through this hun, but I'm glad to see the person you have obviously become today, which seems like a pretty damn GREAT one! Much love, Rhi 🖤🎶
Wow, an incredibly honest reaction that will live on to help others find their way through dark times. Thank you, I'm looking forward to more Tool reactions. The first EP and first LP are under represented in the reactor community. Maybe you would consider listening to a few of the early songs.
Thank you for sharing. It takes a lot of strength to do so, and you aren't alone. Tool does bring stuff up to the surface, which can help to heal. Mushrooms also help and go well with Tool.
Man, thank u for your truly honest reaction. Stay true like this, u will find it resounds with a lot of ppl out there. Love the playfulness in your reactions, but this was different & refreshingly genuine. Cheers brother 💪
Beautiful commentary on one of the more difficult songs in their catalog. I’m sorry you went through that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. Love your tool reactions thank you so much!
Yeah, no bubble gum pop music from Tool, just real life stuff nobody wants to come to grips with, and they add fantastic music and singing to complete their package of greatness.
Same here, dude... took me years to even begin to talk about it. Hell, it's easier to talk about combat than it is to talk about that shit. But we aren't alone. We got through it, we survived, and now we go forth in life. Be kind, and God bless.
You rock man, keep being this honest, humble and a connected human being. Thanks for adding value to our society, you have a gift and you're not afraid to use it... And I love that.
The seemingly perfect music that TOOL creates is always put up against the weight and beauty of the lyrics. That’s what makes their music masterful. The reason they take so long to craft every beat, every note, every sound, and every word of their music. Great reaction
I just saw this vid come up in my UA-cam recommended videos section.. It's 6:07am here in Australia at the moment, I'm so tired this morning, I'm gonna have to get a little bit more sleep, I want to watch this right nowwww so badly!? But I can barely keep my eyes open 😭.. I'll definitely be back later to watch though! I've been LOVING all of your Tool reactions and I always recommend them to all of my 'Tool friends' (of which I have many) hehe.. 🔧🎶🌀 🖤
Tool likes to add double meanings to their lyrics and, with this song, there's a surface meaning but also a deeper one (elbow deep). It's also about religious indoctrination.
well, that is as most certainly a reaction video. mine doesn’t lose storage it’s misplaced what triggers it. Absolutely can’t get enough of tool reviews about you please do more.
This is a very heavy song, it is a true example of how this band go's beyond the "pop" or popular type of song to really give you a real experience with true story lines. I can't say who really molested Manard when he was younger. His own remark was that he was vessel at the time. I herd a lot of different stories so I don't want to repeat.them because it's all just gossip. The real takeaway is that heavy song that it is it's a great song
Nice reaction, penisve and vulnerable. Who could ask for more? Incidentally, I kept wondering why your voice sounded so familiar and so interesting and then it dawned on me, did you know that your voice sounds a lot like the actor Jeff Golblums' voice. I mean, the candence is a bit different but the sonic accoutrements of your voicce are a dead-ringer for his.

@@ThisReactiverse If 5 people now have noticed this in you, there just might be something to it. And yeah, your right; Jeff has a really nice voice. You are pretty lucky to sound like him. I wish I could sound like someone that I personally look up to but my voice doesn't sound anything like theirs. Alas, I am stuck with mine. 😕 Lol
Dude, leading up to last week's Tool concert in Birmingham AL.... I watched a bunch of Tool reactions. I, somehow didn't catch any of yours. But, I've watched a few today. I'd love you to go ahead and go all the way back to the start and just go. I'll watch em. :)
I had one dude tell me that this ain’t wasn’t heavy. But he was referring to to the way the guitar sounded. I said read the lyrics. He came back nos was like “Oh I see, you meant HEAVY metal.”
It's even crazier than you think. It's talking about exactly what it sounds like, but to double down, there's a secondary meaning. He's also using it as a metaphor for religious indoctrination. "Got my hands bound. And my head down and my eyes closed. My throat's wide open" is literally the description of a child praying an singing to god. Maynard is super against religion and the brain washing that comes with it to children, which is why he makes the parallel between physical and mental rape. This might be the most brilliant song I've ever heard. You're points are completely valid, and to realize the sub-context that's being missed makes this and your commentary so much more important.
Thank you for this video. Beautiful message eloquently shared. I've witnessed awakenings, healings, and transformations because of Tool's music, in others but also in my life. Maynard's brutal honesty comes straight from his soul. He is a masterful poet who digs deeper than most and does it with grace, irony, dark humor and bitch-slap transparency. Can't wait for more Tool videos!

Reaction videos are really a terrible use of time. If you have the talent and ability to create music, why waste your time doing this? It’s really disturbing to see this goofy trend.
There’s this other truly awful trend at the moment… See when someone sees content that another person worked hard on and made themselves vulnerable for but it’s not the viewer’s cup of tea, the most efficient use of that persons time would be to scroll past. But if that viewer wastes their own damn time by typing out a self righteous negative comment - well I just fail to see the logic!! Wouldn’t you agree?
A more terrible use of one’s time is rather than create content, or anything for any purpose, entertainment, insight, camaraderie, one instead spends one time going from forum to forum shitting on others efforts and passions, contributing nothing to the world and only having negative, unkind, mean criticisms.

Thanks for your take. The band took a lot of grief over this. MTV only played this after midnight.

A more terrible use of one’s time is rather than create content, or anything for any purpose, entertainment, insight, camaraderie, one instead spends one time going from forum to forum shitting on others efforts and passions, contributing nothing to the world and only having negative, unkind, mean criticisms.
