My daughters were 4 and 9 when my wife passed away from cancer. That was 12 years ago. We played this song at her funeral. You listened to this song with both of them. This was her parting wish for them. To this day, I encourage them to "dance". My wife was very brave and courageous and faced cancer fearlessly. She was never given any hope. But she always said "dance". And, today, she is in the presence of our Lord and I'm sure she is dancing!
This made me cry. And I hadn't even removed my mascara yet, darn you:) Sir, you sound like an amazing dad to two amazing young women. From what you said, your late wife possessed a will and a drive that I'm certain was passed onto your daughters. Bless you and your family. Extra blessings because your girls are now, if my math holds up, 16 and 21 respectively. I recall my dad seeking refuge in his den whilst me and my older sister were teens/young women. Good luck, sir:)
Kevin, I am so sorry. Reading your comment almost made me cry. You know your wife is watching over y'all. You are right. She would want y'all to dance. Not just your daughters but you too. Be safe and happy.
This is a song I want sung at my funeral, especially for my grandson’s, they’re 16 & 14 right now & I’m hoping it’ll end up being played for great grandchildren.
This is one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL songs ever written. She sang the hell out of this song. I get emotional every time I hear it. It's simple but sooo much in the song.
As a grandmother, I enjoy watching younger people discover the music of my younger days but you are the only reactors I have subscribed to because of your joyful, positive spirits.
This just wasn't their families type of music I guess. Lol They are a year older than me and I was born in 1995. Your comment would make sense on a born in the middle of generation z persons reaction to this because they would actually be discovering it. I remember this song being new in 2000 and her winning an award for it in 2001 as a 5 and 6 year old. It was on the radio and everything. Late 1990's though middle 2000's was our childhood and you remember more of your childhood than anything. Lol
When this came out it was on replay over and over and over. It game me such a good feeling. If I remember correctly.not positive but I think those are her girls.
The two little girls are Lee Ann’s daughters. The background vocals were done by a country group called Sons of the Desert. Such a gorgeous song. I quoted it in my oldest daughter’s yearbook page.
They did whiskey lullaby, and, AK didnt make When you say nothing at all.. she was voice dubbed in for the duet, and, her solo is a remake.. That's a Keirh Whitley Original song, taken way to young, may he RIP.
Okay, my loves. The subtext of the lyrics by the male singing a "counter chorus, " says, "Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along, Tell me who wants to look back on their years. And wonder where those years have gone." just so you don't miss it before you go on. This is an emotional song and I always cry when I listen because of the honesty of the lyrics and the delivery.
I agree Lisa. Because of childhood trauma, I allowed fear and insecurity to hold me back and limit the risks I took. Has left me isolated, and this freakin pandemic is a big factor too. I dance and sing on my own, but we also need other humans.
You two are incredibly beautiful souls... thank you for sharing yourselves with us and for spreading love, light, and positive energy. God bless y'all and your family. Much love from Dallas 💯❤😊🙏
I love Lee Ann! Great neo-traditional country artist. The Fool. I May Hate Myself in the Morning. Never Again, Again. Just a few of many of her great songs.
For Amber listin to Martina McBride's "in my daughter's eyes" For Jay listin to Tim McGraw's "my little girl" also listin to Heartland's "i loved her 1st" Another amazing Leeann song is "I may hate myself in the morning"
This song is wonderful. Even after all these years it still makes me cry. I made a CD of this song in a video for my daughter of her growing up. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for it. I hope you will love it too. ❤️
I never had kids but I can tell you as a songwriter of almost 39 years, this tune is POTENT. I wish I could hug everyone involved including the incredible backing vocalists. Such an amazing song, performance, capture and mixdown.
Butterfly Kisses is staggeringly good. A fan brought Bob Carlyle out to the fan's car after a show to show him the dent he had in his car from the fender bender he was in while crying to the song

Since you loved this one you should listen to Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes" you will definitely need tissues. Also "This One's For The Girls" also by Martina, though that one is a happier song :) ♥
One that's definitely a tear jerker, but a great song for dads of daughters is Bob Carlisle - Butterfly kisses. My dad and I danced to it at my wedding.
I was in college when my grandma died. As I was driving home for her funeral, this song came on the radio, and it was like she was speaking to me from beyond. From that moment on, this song has always made me cry.
This song was used for my daughter’s junior high graduation back in 1999. It always makes me cry. 😢 Those are her daughters and the baby actually did take some first steps during the filming of this video. Another great reaction 🌺✌️
They played it at MY 1999 Jr high graduation! It ruined this song for me because the principal cried when he played it. It was the single cringiest thing that has ever happened to me.
There are three country songs that still always make me cry: I Hope You Dance, Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis, and Austin by Blake Shelton. The lyrics of the latter two are storytelling to perfection, and both have twist endings.
😭😭 I swear this song can bring a tear to even the hardest, toughest person. It definitely pulls on ALL the heartstrings in parents, especially of little ones! ❤️ Our job is to help them understand & navigate emotions. To teach them how to "people" so they will be prepared when they're ready to go off into the world. But WE are never ready for it... or even to think about it.
Yall are such a great couple. Just love the way you enter act with each other. Also good to see people showing there emotions. The world needs more people like both of you. Thanks for the good work.
I was very painfully shy growing up, had a rough childhood, my best friend that I met in school was a little older then I was, always looked out for me. When this song came out he dedicated it to me and told me never to give up, to always love yourself and keep faith. He passed away 4 yrs ago. I was in his wedding as ring bearer and had so many great times with him. Every time I hear this one it always lifts my heart and head high. Its a blessing to have someone you love so much wish the best in life for you for always.
I think I love you, Little Lady. Your reactions are so real. You are both so beautiful! I am ANCIENT, and I have watched my children grow up. Have watching your babies grow up!
I absolutely love Jay's glare he gave Amber when she mentioned y'all's daughters getting their heart broken😂😂 That's love right there. I give the exact same look when I think about my baby sister getting her heart broken too. We must protect and cherish our loved ones bc at the end of the day they're all we got.♥️
I haven't listened to this song in years; I'd forgotten how beautiful it is. I love her song, "Does My Ring Burn Your Finger." Another great country song to check out would be Garth Brooks song, "The Dance."
My younger Sister passed away in May of 2012 and this was her favorite song. After she was laid in the ground I stayed and played this song for her one more time. She passed from Alzheimer's at the age 62. She was an Angel who walked among us. I love and miss you Dottie. Continue to REST IN PEACE MY GUARDIAN ANGEL.
This is my song to my girls. I’ve been singing it to them, badly, since they were babies. Pure song. Now try Butterfly Kisses for the dads! That is a crying, blubbering song.
This was my mother's favorite song. At one point you could buy a book, I hope you dance, that a cd single of this song. She bought one for every single family and friend. We played it at her funeral and at every big family celebration, i.e. my wedding. With this song I always have my mother's encouragement to keep dancing. The men singing is Diamond Rio, great band definitely worth you checking out.
Finally I hope Enya is coming soon. The song isn't about girls; it's about people, children and adults. male and female. She probably just had girls in the video, because she has daughters. Check out: Trace Adkins - You're Gonna Miss This
Y'all made me tear up a bit. My daughter was just born in September. Leeann has a fantastic voice. Grew up listening to country and this song. But like y'all said, it hits different when you have a daughter. You want the whole world to give her everything good. And she is my sense of wonder as a rainbow baby. Makes the grey tones sit different.
Love this song and Lee Ann!! For a fun one from her try "I'll Think Of A Reason Later".... you'll get a kick out of it!! A couple more great Country songs along the same beautiful lines.... "MY WISH" by Rascal Flatts and....... "DON'T BLINK" by Kenny Chesney Beautiful reaction as always guys!! Be well and be blessed...
My Aunt was way ahead of her time and oh how I loved her. She was some lady and someone I admired greatly. They played this at her funeral and this was how she lived life. She danced. Love you Aunt Kate. Love this song.
This song was released during a very important time in my daughter's teenage years. She was being pulled in different directions, including considering dropping all her dance classes, which she started at 3 years old, in part, because the time of one of the classes was conflicting with a youth program she wanted to take at our church. They both meant a lot to her. I didn't have a solution, but asked her to listen to this special song. She chose the church classes, but then the dance studio offered another time for her dance class, so she was able to continue that too! I was thankful she chose to place God 1st in her life & happy that she was able & decided to continue her love of dance too! Of course, the song symbolized much more than dance classes & I realized in a few short years she'd be going out into the world on her own & facing many decisions along the way! I hoped & prayed she'd stay humble, sweet & faithful & that she'd always choose good & happy things in life! She's now a beautiful grown lady, with 2 little dancers of her own (she also teaches dance part time!) Along with her husband, son & daughters, she dances through the good & hard times in life, with faith & joy in her heart & soul! I'm proud of & happy for my daughter & I hope she'll always "dance" 💗
This is also a hard song for me because like you Jordan, I have 2 little girls (7 & 10) that are my world. I love my boy too, but daughters melt a dad's heart and this song is special when thinking about the past and what is yet to come. Great song choice!
When I was teaching, I used to print out the lyrics to this song or Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" and read them to my seniors on their last day with me before graduation. On one such occasion, after I finished reading, a young man got up in the back of the room and walked slowly towards me. "Uh oh," I thought. When he got to me, he gave me the biggest bear hug you could imagine. My eyes filled with tears and the class applauded. Good memories!
This song used to always make my older brother cry when we were younger. He would get teased for not being 'tough', but he just really felt the emotion behind it (and looking back, I can understand why)!
LeeAnn Womack is a country singer, but this song went beyond the country charts. Few songs make such an impact that it goes the genre it started out as. This was 1 of those songs. Possibly 1 of the most impactful songs EVER.
This is a Great song. It’s like a prayer for your children or any young person. What you want for them.In fact, when this song came out, I had a good friend’s daughter graduating from high school and going to college. Came across a small book of inspirational poems that enclosed a CD with this song and gave it as a gift. Thanks for your reaction.
We played this song at my mom's 75th birthday party and she danced with her ring bearer. He was only 7 when my parents married in 1955. My Dad passed away in 2001...I'm sure he was looking down with happy tears that day. Such a beautiful song. Thanks for the reaction. 💕
Reba McEntire, "Whoever's In New England"... EmmyLou Harris, "Boulder To Birmingham".... Lari White, "Now I Know", Patty Loveless, "You Don't Even Know Who I Am".....you gotta try these....😀❤❤❤❤❤
This song is hard for me to listen to without crying! My wife grandmother died of cancer and she didn't want us to be sad at her funeral so she wanted this song played at end! She wanted her great granddaughters "my wife and I daughters" to get up and dance during this song. So when the time came we wasn't sure if they would actually do it because they was both very young! So when that moment came they did just want she wanted. So now when I hear this song it make me remember that moment! R.I.P. Nanny we love you! Great reaction you two.
I raised 3 girls and I know how this makes you feel. I never went a day without letting them know how much I loved them. This goes for my son as well. But always let them know that this is the outlook on life they should have.
After sitting sober and playing country music for drunks, for 20 + years, I kind of burned out on country music, but I never stopped loving this song. She is beautiful, her little girls are gorgeous, the songs melody is beautiful, and the message is so real that the video just hits you straight in the heart, and if anyone isn't moved by this video, then their heart is dead, and I truly feel sorry for them:)
Omg I feel the luv u have mommy it's beautiful and I feel it from u also Rob but to see a momma with that face I feel her love for ur babies and it's making me cry more than the song and that's SAYING ALOT!!
Give a listen to “Bible and a .44” by Ashley McBryde. Warning: this song is very emotional if you had a down to earth Dad. Amber, this reminds me of how you speak about your Dad.
Hey guys. I love female Friday!!! So much that apparently my phone suggests Friday after I type female. 🤣 can I suggest Quarterflash “Harden My Heart” for a female Friday? Have you done Reba McEntire’s song, Fancy???? It’s FIRE

The song that sons of the desert and put out after this "what i did right" was a banger
I spent years telling my students to look up the lyrics to this song in their yearbooks. Now I recommend "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.
And what's weird is the guys in the background have the same last name but are not related to her.
I always thought they were hers. Little heart breakers!
The little girls are grown up now, this is an old video, this has given joy to millions.
I sat my daughter down and dedicated this song to her when she was a teenager. What more can a Father say besides I love you.
So sweet

"Roots and Wings" What every parent needs to provide.

"I Loved Her First" makes me think about my daddy. 🥺
I also want to add “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Lee Ann is a true country artist. I love her so much...
The sole purpose of music is to bring about an emotional reaction. Of whatever type. This one definitely does that.

This song is so beautifully done, every nuance. Spectacular!
This is also a hard song for me because like you Jordan, I have 2 little girls (7 & 10) that are my world. I love my boy too, but daughters melt a dad's heart and this song is special when thinking about the past and what is yet to come. Great song choice!
Such a beautiful song for your daughter. I tell my daughter this all the time. I hope you dance
She had another great song that was a hit, Something Worth Leaving Behind.
LOVE
That chorus hits me every single time. 😭
Her voice is soooooo excellent!
LeeAnn Womack is a country singer, but this song went beyond the country charts. Few songs make such an impact that it goes the genre it started out as. This was 1 of those songs. Possibly 1 of the most impactful songs EVER.
Love, Family, and Music. Peace.
I gave that same set to my mom for mother's day one year. 😇
Wonderful song, wonderful parents.
Oh this is so sweet
Also that little girl is her daughter and she has followed in her mother footsteps and she is now a singer as well her name is Aubrie Sellers
Yall made me cry . Beautiful song. Thank-you for this reaction.
I cry every time I hear this song! Beautiful and full of meaning.
I love your emotional side. I love the love you have for your babies! 🥰🥰
I raised 3 girls and I know how this makes you feel. I never went a day without letting them know how much I loved them. This goes for my son as well. But always let them know that this is the outlook on life they should have.
I just love you both especially on the sweeter love songs that hit your hearts. You are beautiful people
Such a beautiful song, I am glad you did this one. I read somewhere that those 2 girls in the video are LeAnn's daughters.
I thought so. Wasn't sure about the older girl. But I knew the toddler was...
Omg I love this song. This is definitely in my top 5 favorites of ALL times!
Trisha Yearwood also recorded Ashley’s song too :)
Love that song by Ashley McBride ❤
The song itself with just her is amazing. The first time i her was the video with Eric church
I’ve been trying to get a reaction for Ashley. 😁✌🏼
Agree. I have been wishing they would try "one night standards" or "girl going nowhere" by Ashley Mcbride. She is talented
Lee Anne sang this song at the NOBLE CEREMONY in Stockholm Sweden at the request of the NOBLE COMMITTEE. Such a beautiful song.
Hey guys. I love female Friday!!! So much that apparently my phone suggests Friday after I type female. 🤣 can I suggest Quarterflash “Harden My Heart” for a female Friday? Have you done Reba McEntire’s song, Fancy???? It’s FIRE
That's what I love about music, it brings out emotions!!!
