Clicked on this because I had no idea who this was that won the Grammy album of the year. I expected to listen for about 30 seconds and then leave puzzled as to what the appeal is. Much to my surprise I find myself intrigued by the style and the voice and I plan to visit this entire album. I doubt that it will become a favorite of mine but I will give it a chance. I'm glad I dropped in. Congrats on winning Album of the Year.

tbh i never heard of him before yesterday. i was looking up every album of the year winner since it started and his WE ARE album came up not too long ago. didnt listen to the whole album yet but this song is amazing. I know he was featured on one of Lana Del Reys tracks from her new album. I don't know why I havent herad of him. His composition is legendary. Why do u think hes been so under the radar?

Just a reminder to everyone that the award is supposed to be for the most significant album of the year, not the "most popular album of the year".
It is awarded by people in the industry who know how hard it is to create an album that blends several different genres and does them all very well.
Considering the current state of the world, this is the uplifting music we need: We Are, Freedom, I Need You, all of it.
Jon is a genius, but he's a genius with Angel wings. He spreads happiness and love wherever he goes and every song, every word touches our hearts. He actually walked with the people in these pictures to spread peace and hope instead of anger.
If you haven't watched "Freedom" yet, please let that be your next choice. There are historical and ethnic examples within the powerful lyrics and characters of the story he tells. Second choice would be "I Need You" which reminds me of the music of the 50s and 60s. Thank you, Jon. You've made the world a bit better. 💕🎵🎶🎼🎹🎻🎼🎺🎤

I think he comes from a musical family. He embraces many styles but the last couple of years he seems to have found a way to fuse them together. Like Peter Gabriel or Paul Simon with more soul. So talented and really fresh sounding.
I just got through watching "Americans Sympathy" what ever Jon Baptiste said about music I was idencal feeling the same way through out my life music I heard beats regardless I can't play any musical instruments but that beat/music is always there 24/7 it was happy to hear another person feels what I feel...I know we all feels music but my family feels music too but I didn't know they felt it constantly like I did I believe I knew it but to hear someone say it out loud made me feel I'm not crazy..
