  • Over a three-year period, Philip Lymbery (CEO of Compassion in World Farming) travelled the world with a camera crew to explore the complex web of farming, fishing, industrial production, and international trade, which effects the food on our plate.
    This film exposes the hidden costs of cheap meat and the devastating impacts of factory farming on people, animals, and the planet. It follows Philip as he hears firsthand from people affected by factory farming in Argentina, China, Mexico, Peru, and the USA.
    The full story is told in Farmageddon: The True Cost of Cheap Meat, published by Bloomsbury, and now available in paperback.
    Farmageddon is now available to order online and in all good bookshops: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/14...

      Primitive?...no, this is the result of modernity. If we were primitive we wouldn’t do such things.

      Destroying the only home we have is a pretty primitive behavior in my opinion. We may have advanced technologically but we have a long way to go philosophically. We'll get there though.

      Well we like our "Primate Cousins" the Chimpanzee our closest relative Require vast amounts of meats to get the complete aminos - the only way we can use them " nutritionwonderland.com/2009/07/understanding-our-bodies-amino-acids/?fbclid=IwAR1_ZQ0dZXkqFogp7OGKftknToFslNnJm1OjOSn9h3TqvU6maQMdKi7p-5M " they have hunted one of their Primary sources of meat which is other monkey species / forget the name but they are not agressive monkeys so make for a easy meal but like us they require complete aminos without these we and they would starve to death or die young as happened in China in the 1960's and im sure before just not much records prior / but Military and Politicians got the meats everyone else died about 36.6 years of age - all vegan diets / this is populaiton of 1 billion or more back then so short of you being in military was if you were luckey enough to own a huge farm or live in fishing village /// www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/history-of-life-expectancy

      For Us our Fix is to feed our Animals properly where we can fully compost the stool for re-use it is no more complex than that - we don't and cannot use human waste since we consume so many and much heavy metals and toxins which are eliminated in our stool but this as well could be changed stopping GMO's Roundup / and even DDT - yep that is correct USA still makes DDT we sell it world wide we just no longer can use it in the USA but Plants in winter months that you buy - might want to make sure you grew them in your own green house as its a safe bet they are sprayed with roundup or DDT even if they say they are organic or what ever /

    Thank you for the video. It was hard to watch what we have done to the planet. However, There is not enough land in the world to feed grass to all cows. The animals will be happy until they are slaughtered, there is nothing happy about that, and people will keep dying from unnecessary conditions caused by eating animals. 😢
    We need to eat plants. Legumes, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts. That is healthier, sustainable, and compassionate. 🙏🏻🌱🤗 that is the only way we will be able to reverse climate change. We have 12 years! It’s time to wake up🌱

    I grew up near a family farm, whenever I ate meat, I always pictured the meat coming from there..... I will definitely research where my meat and dairy is coming from, and try to have more plant based days in the week.

      because the world will never be vegan and it will be easier to make all animals treated kindly that to stop it all together. Maybe after it is reduced significantly then veganism can start to be advertised as the way forward.

      death is not the solution so go vegan. claiming something is not a parasite and then using something else that something made to say that the something which made it isn't a parasite isn't evidence enough it could just mean that that something it made is just its puke.

      Although I'm not a vegan myself, I respect vegans for helping to change the way we would normally make and consume food. Without them, I'm not quite sure we'd have good progress on stuff like lab-made meat.

      @TI. Say's who exactly? The World Health Organisation urges a move toward plant based diets. The American Dietetic Association is a leading body on health and nutrition. It's policy on vegetarian and vegan diets states - "It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence, and for athletes".

      Being vegan is an option, but nature provides us farm animals and vegetables for our living. We decide whether we will consume them properly or not

    • @Jim89M
      @Jim89M 7 років тому +1

      Actually farm animals are not provited by nature. over the centuries human '''created'' farm animals by selective breeding... natural selection didn't..

    • @ysfkrwn7095
      @ysfkrwn7095 7 років тому +1

      +Jim89M , Okay, sorry for my mistakes, i would replace the word "nature" with "the creator of nature". So the creator of nature has provides us animals and plants that are able to be eaten by human. It have already planned and placed the nutrients we need to some of the animals and plants (not all animals and plants), so we can decide which animal and plant we can consume.
      +b vegan , And if the consideration is because animals tend to look tortured or slaughtered, did you know that plants are also living thing? The case is, animals are more similar to us (human) by their characteristic. They can speak, they have facial expression, they can move, and so on. But plants are not different. just because they don't speak or move like us, doesn't make plant not included as living thing. And now you might be asking "But why we should eat animals? What are the urgency?". From the nutrient fulfillment perspective, it is the same reason why you should eat plants. Second reason is, farm takes space. We can't make the whole earth to be farm (for food adequacy reason). We have the balance of plants and animals consumption, because they are both reproducing/replicating over time. And "why we don't eat human?" you know the answer.

    A pertinent introduction to the animal, ecological and human holocaust occurring every day on the planet owing to the industrialisation of death. However, this introduction continues to follow the paradigm of carnism. Veganism practises a healthy, completely nourishing and sustainable food system for all, outside the death cycle of slaughter, disease, famine, environmental destruction and the corporate takeover of our communities. Thus, in the final analysis, this introduction, though pertinent, loses credibility.

      with that kind of logic:
      3 to 15 dollars a pound of processed meat from farms with antibiotics and dont even provide a healthy way of eating even half of your daily nutrients, completely affordable.
      50 cents to 2 dollars a pound for most fruits and vegetables from which you can get most to all of your nutrients from, out of this world expensive.

      That is Bullshit new people The same nonsense. Duden I show them I went through the kitchen them their ignorant thinking. processed is quicker that is the true reason behind it to have more time the spent in front of the TV. And from all the processed foods their taste buds were so fucked, only fatty or sugary foods tasted of anything to them. Then not to mention the extra cost they had to spend on medizin and dr. visits because thanks to their mostly processed foods they suffered from high blood pressure high cholesterol at age 34. Was ist judend at that time with a lesser income than them so your argument is bullshit but people are made to believe that nonsense so that the big retailers Keep having plenty of people to buy their shit. and when it comes to meat, it is not only unhealthy because of antibiotics and other crap, on top of it it is so fucking cruel

    If we tried to farm how they are suggesting we would all starve to death! Also I would just like to point out that those animals are not "wildlife" they have been bread for hundreds of years to do exactly what they are doing. If you set them free or whatever this video is suggesting they will just die of starvation! Also I would like to point out that yes, shit smells like shit! However it isn't some toxic mustard gas that causes you to have to hold your breath, trust me I am in it all day! Finally using the manure as fertilizer is actually a good idea. If you are suggesting organic farming or sustainable agriculture or any of this other nonsense then you don't have a choice! Its either manure or chemicals or starvation ... your call!
