LCAC Air-Cushion Vehicle Landing & Unloading LAV-25 Amphibious Vehicle
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 тра 2013
- Marines serving with Alpha Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, team up with Assault Craft Unit 5, a Navy unit based out of Camp Pendleton, CA, to make an amphibious landing. The Marines learned how to tie down their light armored vehicles onto ACU-5's landing craft air cushion, a hovercraft class vehicle, in process known as "griping." Marines loaded their company of LAVs onto the LACs in the predawn hours and landed on Camp Pendleton's Red Beach at sunrise. Produced by Lance Cpl. Corey Dabney.

Smôôth film work. Very nice.
Thank you for your service, gentlemen. Marines have been in more engagements than the majority of the U.S. military's branches, including the Army, Air Force and Coast Guard, and have been in just as many as the Navy. *Oorah*.
The Amerijuanican That’s blatantly false. The Army sees far more combat and undergoes significantly more engagements than the USMC. That’s just a matter of numbers, as the Army has about 1.1 million personnel and are the main ground force of the US.
0:55 dude on the right is a cyborg! Look how his head turns!
(Could be dropped frames but I'd like to think he's a cyborg)
Raise a glass to Sir Chrisipher Cockerell, the man who invented the Hovercraft.
Those LCAC landing crafts - does the Navy have anything cooler than them in their inventory?
Best part 08:31
Not going to lie I really liked the design but I'm not sure it would be the most accurate because it takes a while to deflate and while it's deflating you're getting shot at
how strong could be the inflating platform i forgot how it was called but could it be as strong as the inflating castle on which the kitds jump or it thoughter than a brick wall :P :D
Aren't the LAV's supposed to have propellers at the rear of the road wheels?
Good
How this inflatable tube behaves against rubber piercing bullets?
Wow just wow! Only US and Japan have these toys!
@1:10 Let's play "tip the port-a-potty!"

So are LCAC's only used in cold beach landings?
حدا يقلي شو اسمها هالمكنه بالعربي مشان ابحث عنها وعن آلية عملها
Is that nz
Blake robby looks ocean side Camp Pendleton. SoCal. Looks very similar to the north island
I always hated riding on LCACS. After the first time it’s just annoying.
I don't understand that the successor of the LCAC, the SSC, has not been designed with the ability to unload the LAV-25s and AAV-7s from the sea. LCACs/SSCs are very vulnerable vehicles and the area around the beach has to be completely secured before they can be used.
With the ability of unloading the AAVs in the water, the SSCs could be used for the first wave of assault, and their speed would be used to bring a lot of amphibious armor quickly to the beach.
I have no idea where you heard the SSC couldn't unload the LAV-25 from the sea. They specifically can do that.
LCAC seems like a huge sitting duck in the water to me
That's why you're not in charge.
Are Lav-25s amphibious? and if they are, why are they transported to the shore on lcacs.
anfernee jones no the LAV-25 was about the same speed of the AAV-7 its just the SLEP (service life extension project) is getting rid of the Propellers for some reason that is beyond me?
anfernee jones Because its cheaper maintenance wise before the LAV's were sent out before Amtrac's to do the scouting and raiding now I have no f*cking clue what there use is? Personally I would think Marines would want as much of there equipment to be Amphibious as possible.
+Kael Mara They're not designed for the ocean.
what kind of damage do those LAV’s do?
they will fuck up you day, i think the the gun is a 20mm, well able to pentetrate bulletproof glass and some tanks.......
@@shutyomouth5653 M242 Bushmaster (25MM) and maybe some BGM-71 TOW missiles.
Mental to their crewmen
u.s navy needs a f-22N model to replace the f-14 plus and super fast system to counter hyper sonic missiles, replace Harpoon ststem

Fastest way to resupply terror groups, rebels and mercenaries via coast without being caught by local authorities lol
Why taking so much time to unload the amphibian from the cushion vehicle. What this a slow motion drill? buck up guys. Faster. Do not make me a drill seargent.
OK so why aren't the LCAC crewmen wearing body armor? They should be.
They look like sitting ducks to me....out for a stroll. War is so bizarre and even banal. Our children and civilians are killed and maimed so mega corporations and other business interests can make big money. When will we say no.
A. Z. Ajit. Welkmdejoi.
The LCAC carries only 2 LAV’s? Too slow, and inefficient.
Carl Hursh it’s because the weight is too much, it would sink the landing craft
It can carry four LAVS or one ABRAMS MBT.
And it’s not slow by any means.
Andra Britt 50 knots capability
What a yawn fest. What are the modern US Marines expecting, no opposition and then take all day to unload a couple of vehicles with little red flags and portaloos. Seems really surreal to me. I assume they train for actual combat?
I guess Dday was yawn fest since a large amount of tanks have sunk before they reach Omaha beach
But yes they can be use for combat
