I think when the internal affairs people get done with this investigation this person will no longer be a reserve officer with Severe County sheriff's Office. As a fellow towie .. we had a call from the county for a car in the ditch .. turns out it was a city officers son .. but he was PISSED we charged him $200 for recovering the car ( that they drove away ) but officer proceeded to tell my operator that we best not come into HIS city when he’s on duty because he will make *^%* sure we all pay that $200 over 100 times .. luckily.. we use body cams as you do .. and I just sat on this for about a day and was like .. I can’t just let this guy threaten us and bully us for just doing a job we was called to do by the deputy that was on scene .. well his commanding officer was just amazed at his attitude towards my guy and he was since terminated from his position of power for the abuse of power he thought he had over us. It’s crazy people loosing their jobs over a few hundred bucks to pay for a service. Really makes me wonder how many other le we face daily actually do feel about us in the end. Anyways , great job guys we are in Alabama and visit the area 2-3 times a year so we may see if you guys are available for lunch when we are in town.. stay safe and watch your 6 !!

Oh it's alot more cops than you think. Their ego drives their behavior. I watch a lot of cop watchers on You Tube for instance and it's sickening to witness because we need good police but now it's make a criminal out of everyone. 9 times out of 10 when you get pulled over they use I smell weed that gives them probably cause to search or bring a drug dog to say it hit then find nothing. But they don't have any accountability.

I live in East Tennessee (about two hours from Gatlinburg )and what I have learned from watching this show is to go ahead and pay $20 dollars to park somewhere .Just because someone says …”park over there ,it’ll be OK “…doesn’t mean it will be OK ….pay the $20 bucks.
I’m really glad the department took this seriously and took action! Someone that tries to use their volunteer position to make threats because he doesn’t like the cost of the mistake his daughter made is an absolute disgrace to the department! It shows his over inflated ego and complete lack of respect for the department.

yea run through the math of his cost of business.....the insurance alone....liability and damage (because of people like the ones a few videos back claiming they would sue for a transmission), the liability and damage that can happen because of a mistake or equipment failure, the insurance on the truck itself and getting in a wreck as a commercial vehicle owner (always brings the lawsuits), the insurance for being smashed into by a driver that is not insured or sliding off the road in ice trying to help others, property insurance, insurance for theft and damage at the lot, fuel cost, equipment maintenance and replacement cost, pay for him and his wife, the cost to own or rent the lot, the cost of office space (even if based at home), accountants, insurance for Jeff and Kristen if hurt on the job and can't work.....they are probably hundreds of dollars in the hole every day before they even turn the key and burn fuel to get off the lot and down the road......the tows they show up to and people got pulled out by a friend or managed to get it out themselves (and did not call to tell anyone), the tows where they get there and suddenly the people just decide they are too expensive and they will try someone else.....illegal parks where the people have left just before they get there.....they run 24-7 basically if you call and they answer they are going to come......all that adds up to a hell of a lot of cost
Disagree, the person being towed has no choice, no recourse. It would be different if the fee for towing an illegally parked car was listed on the sign at the parking space.

They also have a method of recourse, they can get a lawyer and file suit if they think they have been defrauded or illegally overcharged. (I believe that the towing fee laws vary by state.)

@jaygreentree4394 I wouldn't call a reserve deputy is a fake cop. They are post certified, trained, weapons qualified and have to maintain the same education standards as active deputies. That is based on my experience as law enforcement in the state of Georgia. I will also say any officer who uses their position to intimidate anyone should be stripped of their post certification.

He's a businessman running a business. Making peace is the best outcome. Abusing official authority to harass someone is 100% unacceptable police conduct. It’s more like cars suddenly being fined $2000 for driving 5 mph over the speed limit in a tiny jurisdiction in Texas. Yes, the cars were violating the law, but you would be justified in thinking the price for the fine is outrageous. What the fake-cop needs to do is find out what the illegal tow charges are for other companies in Gatlinburg. If they’re all around $300 then OK. But if they’re all $150 and only Jeff is charging $300, then Jeff is being a jerk.

My ex has a sign in her shop..."Prices may vary according to customer attitude" ... It is next to a large photo of "Max", her Cane Corso, which is labelled as "Complaint's Dept.". All her regulars love Max as he is at the shop with her every day.

I'm glad you decided to report him. I had similar dealings with a reserved officer here in Texas many years ago at my restaurant demanding a free meal. I called and reported him 2secs out the door.

Jeff don’t ever apologize for defending yourself after a POS supposed cop is using his position to threaten you and your business. What you charge is what you charge. I’ve never been towed for illegally parking but I have had to have my vehicle towed and the prices vary. I pay what’s required for services rendered. If I park illegally I run the risk of paying whatever it’s going to take. That’s called “paying the price”.

I think this is the second time it was a reserve officer....I think a guy from Georgia pulled the "I am a cop do something for me" and turned out to be a reserve officer.....then there was the other one that was found to "no longer be in law enforcement and with good reason"

People don't understand that the tow fee's have to pay for your manual labor, your gas, insurance, utilities any business loans, ect. And then with what is left over you still have to pay your mortgage, home utilities, health insurance, groceries, ect. It is not like you are pocketing $300 profit and getting rich. You are just a making living and paying bills just like anybody with a 9-5 job.

Another expense that people also have no idea about is the cost of to cover vehicles while on the back of the tow truck during transport with insurance. Company insurance is no joke either.
Just something to add, Not only do you have the tow for illegally parked vehicle with everything involved, you have a second trip to go back and meet them at the lot. There is a lot of time involved.
with the cost of diesel fuel and insurance alone not counting truck payments that is alot of money out. i have never barked at the tow guys fees when i have had to pay for towing(never for illegal park) i know those trucks are not cheap to run.

Not only did you have to do all of that stuff to get the vehicle towed and the wear/tear and gas on the trucks..but the fee is also so the illegal parker gets stung a little so they wont park illegally again. Getting hit in the pocket book usually will make a person think about and pay attention to their surroundings next time. Once again you're human Jeff. You have every right to get upset and spout off. Wow, the first time after months of watching I heard the cost of the tow, $300.00. That will definitely teach them to park where they are supposed to. Some of those bad parkers should be charged more for the way they just park wherever they want for as long as they want. Keep up the good work guys.

I am glad the department took action and did the right thing based on a proper investigation. This shows that there are law enforcement agencies that do protect and serve and hold accountable those within the ranks who abuse their authority. Good for them for being on the ball with this.

I used to tow and everyone always said when I towed that it was our fault that we towed a car, weather it was a illegally, parked or driving while suspended no insurance, whether it was a mva. We got blamed for taking their car they did nothing wrong even if it wasn’t the person that was driving, just a bystander that had no clue what was really going on. He didn't charge that much because truck back then were a 1/3 of the price they are now, fuel wasn't nearly as expensive, insurance was non-existent because cars didn't cost what they do now. Of course, he didn't charge as much. It didn't cost as much as it does now.
I'm betting he didn't actually own anything, just like how he isn't a 'real' officer (by that I mean Paid regular duty employee) but represented himself as tho he was. Just another that's on a power trip and tries to bully to get their way

Thank you for reporting the officer as his words are unacceptable. His daughter admitted the time she parked was when she went to work which is nothing to do with eating at the restaurant. You had to keep this in because this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

As a fellow towie .. we had a call from the county for a car in the ditch .. turns out it was a city officers son .. but he was PISSED we charged him $200 for recovering the car ( that they drove away ) but officer proceeded to tell my operator that we best not come into HIS city when he’s on duty because he will make *^%* sure we all pay that $200 over 100 times .. luckily.. we use body cams as you do .. and I just sat on this for about a day and was like .. I can’t just let this guy threaten us and bully us for just doing a job we was called to do by the deputy that was on scene .. well his commanding officer was just amazed at his attitude towards my guy and he was since terminated from his position of power for the abuse of power he thought he had over us. It’s crazy people loosing their jobs over a few hundred bucks to pay for a service. Really makes me wonder how many other le we face daily actually do feel about us in the end. Anyways , great job guys we are in Alabama and visit the area 2-3 times a year so we may see if you guys are available for lunch when we are in town.. stay safe and watch your 6 !!

Oh it's alot more cops than you think. Their ego drives their behavior. I watch a lot of cop watchers on You Tube for instance and it's sickening to witness because we need good police but now it's make a criminal out of everyone. 9 times out of 10 when you get pulled over they use I smell weed that gives them probably cause to search or bring a drug dog to say it hit then find nothing. But they don't have any accountability.

I live in East Tennessee (about two hours from Gatlinburg )and what I have learned from watching this show is to go ahead and pay $20 dollars to park somewhere .Just because someone says …”park over there ,it’ll be OK “…doesn’t mean it will be OK ….pay the $20 bucks.

Someone that tries to use their volunteer position to make threats because he doesn’t like the cost of the mistake his daughter made is an absolute disgrace to the department! yea run through the math of his cost of business.....the insurance alone....liability and damage (because of people like the ones a few videos back claiming they would sue for a transmission), the liability and damage that can happen because of a mistake or equipment failure, the insurance on the truck itself and getting in a wreck as a commercial vehicle owner (always brings the lawsuits), the insurance for being smashed into by a driver that is not insured or sliding off the road in ice trying to help others, property insurance, insurance for theft and damage at the lot, fuel cost, equipment maintenance and replacement cost, pay for him and his wife, the cost to own or rent the lot, the cost of office space (even if based at home), accountants, insurance for Jeff and Kristen if hurt on the job and can't work.....they are probably hundreds of dollars in the hole every day before they even turn the key and burn fuel to get off the lot and down the road......the tows they show up to and people got pulled out by a friend or managed to get it out themselves (and did not call to tell anyone), the tows where they get there and suddenly the people just decide they are too expensive and they will try someone else.....illegal parks where the people have left just before they get there.....they run 24-7 basically if you call and they answer they are going to come......all that adds up to a hell of a lot of cost
Disagree, the person being towed has no choice, no recourse. It would be different if the fee for towing an illegally parked car was listed on the sign at the parking space.

They also have a method of recourse, they can get a lawyer and file suit if they think they have been defrauded or illegally overcharged. (I believe that the towing fee laws vary by state.)

@jaygreentree4394 I wouldn't call a reserve deputy is a fake cop. They are post certified, trained, weapons qualified and have to maintain the same education standards as active deputies. That is based on my experience as law enforcement in the state of Georgia. I will also say any officer who uses their position to intimidate anyone should be stripped of their post certification.

It’s more like cars suddenly being fined $2000 for driving 5 mph over the speed limit in a tiny jurisdiction in Texas. Yes, the cars were violating the law, but you would be justified in thinking the price for the fine is outrageous. What the fake-cop needs to do is find out what the illegal tow charges are for other companies in Gatlinburg. If they’re all around $300 then OK. Jeff don’t ever apologize for defending yourself after a POS supposed cop is using his position to threaten you and your business. What you charge is what you charge. I’ve never been towed for illegally parking but I have had to have my vehicle towed and the prices vary. I pay what’s required for services rendered. If I park illegally I run the risk of paying whatever it’s going to take. That’s called “paying the price”.

I think this is the second time it was a reserve officer....I think a guy from Georgia pulled the "I am a cop do something for me" and turned out to be a reserve officer.....then there was the other one that was found to "no longer be in law enforcement and with good reason"

People don't understand that the tow fee's have to pay for your manual labor, your gas, insurance, utilities any business loans, ect. And then with what is left over you still have to pay your mortgage, home utilities, health insurance, groceries, ect. It is not like you are pocketing $300 profit and getting rich. You are just a making living and paying bills just like anybody with a 9-5 job.

Another expense that people also have no idea about is the cost of to cover vehicles while on the back of the tow truck during transport with insurance. Company insurance is no joke either.
Just something to add, Not only do you have the tow for illegally parked vehicle with everything involved, you have a second trip to go back and meet them at the lot. There is a lot of time involved.
Plus the fact she woke him up at midnight
with the cost of diesel fuel and insurance alone not counting truck payments that is alot of money out. i have never barked at the tow guys fees when i have had to pay for towing(never for illegal park) i know those trucks are not cheap to run.

Not only did you have to do all of that stuff to get the vehicle towed and the wear/tear and gas on the trucks..but the fee is also so the illegal parker gets stung a little so they wont park illegally again. Getting hit in the pocket book usually will make a person think about and pay attention to their surroundings next time.

WOW!!! Can he possibly say CONFLICT OF INTEREST or ABUSE OF POWER? He may have ran his own business at one time, but as you pointed out, he may not have had to do the same form of extractions you do. It is also obvious he is going to try and get you removed from the roll over list. I can only recommend you have a talk on your own behalf to the Chief or Asst. Chief regarding his conduct. I know what the cost of diesel in my part of the country and I am sure the insurance is not a cheap piece of doing business. Jeff, keep up the great work you are doing.

Wow, the first time after months of watching I heard the cost of the tow, $300.00. That will definitely teach them to park where they are supposed to. Some of those bad parkers should be charged more for the way they just park wherever they want for as long as they want. Keep up the good work guys.

Dudes giving good cops a bad name💯 and 300 is not enough for the tow. That's alot of Hassel and aggravation and traffic and ridiculous tight spots to get out of. 300 is getting off cheap and your car is taking care of very well

I am glad the department took action and did the right thing based on a proper investigation. This shows that there are law enforcement agencies that do protect and serve and hold accountable those within the ranks who abuse their authority. Good for them for being on the ball with this.

Sevier County Sheriff is beyond themselves based on first hand experience(s) and anytime you call for help from them they shouldn't be asking the innocent if they trespassed just because the accused is in the wrong for placing nails and screws on a one way street..

I used to tow and everyone always said when I towed that it was our fault that we towed a car, weather it was a illegally, parked or driving while suspended no insurance, whether it was a mva. We got blamed for taking their car they did nothing wrong even if it wasn’t the person that was driving, just a bystander that had no clue what was really going on. You have a great following and really enjoy watching your videos.

He didn't charge that much because truck back then were a 1/3 of the price they are now, fuel wasn't nearly as expensive, insurance was non-existent because cars didn't cost what they do now. Of course, he didn't charge as much. It didn't cost as much as it does now.

Glad y'all did the correct actions! No reserve cop should try to represent themselves as if he was on duty full-time! He also tried to use some kind of authority to get a refund or special treatment. Then when he didn't get his way the threatening began! Some people just have to learn to learn the hard way... he is one of "those people"!
Another thing to remember, he did say he use to own a tow company. USE TO being the operative words. That tells me he was not good enough or couldn't be successful as a tow operator.

He isn't a sherrif. A sherrif is elected and there is one in the county. If he was a cop, he would be a deputy.

Qualified Immunity is what local or state cops work with the Federal revenue enhancers aka cops.
Thank you for reporting the officer as his words are unacceptable. His daughter admitted the time she parked was when she went to work which is nothing to do with eating at the restaurant. You had to keep this in because this kind of behavior is unacceptable.
