You all threw me in at the deep end and watched me drown on this one 😭😂 The last Avenged Sevenfold reaction from the Patreon Poll is going up this weekend… and I might even react to the music video for ALPOH there too 🍿🔥
This song was originally intended for a Halloween EP, but when they brought this to the label, they said "you're insane if you don't put this on the main record". The EP fell through, but this song survived on the record.
" "A Little Piece of Heaven" is about a man who, fearing that his proposal to her will be rejected, murders his girlfriend. He then eats her heart and rapes her corpse. The girlfriend then returns from the dead and murders him and eats his heart. The man then also comes back from the dead to make things right. The two reconcile, get married, and together they begin killing others. " This is the song is about :D
Sure it's shock value by making a love ballad about brutal murder and derangement.. But there's also the metaphorical aspect of killers that are fucked up like this, feeling like god in the moment of... That's the little piece of heaven
This song was originally intended for a Halloween EP, but when they brought this to the label, they said "you're insane if you don't put this on the main record". The EP fell through, but this song survived on the record.
In fact, this is Jimmy's great masterpiece, because the song A Little Piece of Heaven created by Jimmy is so scary and unique, like "Bohemian Rhapsody"
I recommend watching the making of because it really shows how incredible this song is and especially the background vocals jimmy did for this are some of the coolest vocal lines I’ve ever heard which is part of the reason why I love this one… And this entire song is basically just an experiment on how to translate the weirdest storyline into music and originally it was just meant to be a Halloween special but it became a fan favourite and is actually one of their most streamed tracks :)
As someone who was always into creepy or weird things I found it fantastic watching it from an artistic side. I love songs that tell a story it just make me think about musicals and the whole aesthetic is just on point for halloween or if they just wanted it to be creepy, a masterpiece indeed
I love this song because once you don’t take it too seriously and realize it’s just meant to be a dark twisted love story that’s kind of a joke, then you can appreciate the musical arrangements, instrumentation, vocal melodies, and vocal performances because they’re actually really well done. Such a fun song that I can’t help sing to when I hear it 🤷🏻♂️ but everyone has their own tastes! I believe A7X is one of those bands that likes to push the bounds of creativity in the genre cause they are too talented not to! Appreciate the reaction 👏🏽
this, if we talk about the music I LOVE this song, it's just so good. It's not the only rock/metal song with weird lyrics so I just think it's not that deep (ironically)
From what I heard, they made this song as a Halloween shock value track for fun. When they played it for the label they said it was so good that it had to be put on the album. I think I watched an interview where M Shadows said this. Not entirely sure.
When you watch the video it makes more sense “It was a conjuring of Jimmy’s genius,” confirms guitarist Synyster Gates. “He had these parts in his mind and he was always playing piano. Whenever there was a fucking piano, he’d always be playing it and it would always be original stuff. He’d draw a fucking crowd of all of our friends and we couldn’t wait to hear it, the new shit. Then he wanted to finish it because it started picking up momentum and he really got a kick out of the chorus. Jimmy wasn’t the guy who needed a pat on the back, but he was really proud of that chorus. It was a little bit of a joke, too; when he’d sing it, kind of like Scooby-Doo. He thought it was such a cheesy kind of jingle, so catchy and so syrupy. He just thought it was so funny to juxtapose that with the lyrics.
This is a fun song for longtime A7X fans, probably not one I’d show to someone I’m introducing the band to. I’d love to see you do Unholy Confessions, Remenissions, Second Heartbeat, Beast and the Harlot, or Afterlife. Still love your reactions 🔥
@@dark_disciple i usually start people with ordinary then have them listen to this right after. doing it that way makes it to where people still are totally shocked but are willing to hear more from the band because ordinary makes it feel more like the one off that it is
LMFAO the video is literally the first thing I showed my best friend back in high school and then she fell in love with A7X and saw them a decade before I got the chance to 😂 she still laughs about it to this day. 🖤
Fans can't wait to dubp this on new a7x reactors for that shock factor on music video. I like to think of this song as fucked up Bohemian rhapsody of the band 😂
This is a metaphor. It's about the fear of being rejected, and how it feels to be rejected. Like someone ripped your heart out. So he took that possibility of being rejected from her. The Rev composed this while he locked himself in a cabin for several months. Just him and his instruments. He recorded the piano and the drum in one recording.
THE REV (aka the drummer that passed away) definitly killed it with this one!!! His vocals added so much to the songs and were so good!! And if you didnt know, he was the one that actually wrote the piece, he's the one that brought it up to the band for a kinda halloween ep!
I wish you'd seen the video but it's somehow even funnier seeing you figuring it out only through the lyrics😂😂😂 But I gotta admit, even though I've been listening to this song since I was 14, there were some lines I actually never paid attention to😂😂 A7X never disappoints
"she was not this good in bed even when she was sleeping" is said at just the right volume for you to hear it but not truly hear it. you know something fucked up is there but you don't know quite what was said. even when skimming the lyrics that line just swoops under the radar.
I'm literally in tears with laughter watching your reaction to this. The song is from the twisted mind of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan, their ex drummer RIP. I miss him so much.
this is my favorite love song of all time because while other songs are til death do you part, this one doesn't let death get in the way and allows for a true eternal love.
I think you missed part of the story where the dead girl comes back from the dead and gets revenge.... the song was written by the rev whom is the drummer that passed away and the inspiration for the song so far away. At the end of the day it was just for shock value
I love seeing people's reaction to this song it's my favorite avenged song!! You should watch the actual music video!! The video goes perfectly with the song!
The first time i watched i was completely repulsed. But the music was so great i went back and watched it again (the official video). It's now one of my favorites. I'm a grandma, not unhinged or a real AX7 fan. But musically, i think this is a great song.
Whatever you think this song is, the answer is "YES!" xD This was supposed to be a joke they made for halloween and not to be taken seriously, but it turns out the fans love it and it became one of their masterpiece, also RIP the REV :(
I did say this was one to wait to hear and people just like to make ya jump the gun 😅 I’m here before the video officially goes up, but I dunno if I have it in me to watch when it does because according to these comments and the title…I can see where this probably goes. I don’t hate this song, I just am under the firm stance that this is not the song to introduce newcomers to so early. Everyone places their own personal entertainment over what someone else might actually enjoy.
You should definitely watch the music video for this one. Its actually great and really shows you that as gruesome as this song is its still a love song in the end
Haha hahaha haha hahaha 😂😂😂😂 you'll be glad you did the lyric video cos the official video would completely fry your brain 😂😂😂😂...oh dear fair play for trying to break it down.. much respect 😂😂😂
Life got put on pause when I saw this video on my suggested list. I freakin love this song! Lyrics aside, the music and harmonies are beautiful. This song has been on my playlist forever. My favourite thing about it is when it comes up say at a baseball tournament and my non metal friends start bouncing to it and getting into it, and then I start singing along and watch the faces change
I paused immediately to say that I'm sad you're hearing the song first without the visual masterpiece that is this music video. I really hope you watch that, too.
Now you have to do Anthony Vincent’s version of this song he does it in 33 styles which brings out the beauty of the song. The drummer of the band was a fan of Tim Burton & passed away so they wrote this song for him as a tribute to Tim Burton it’s not to be taken seriously it’s about a man who feared rejection so he killed his girlfriend & she came back to life then killed him & then they had a zombie wedding. Anthony Vincent’s version was my first time hearing the song ever so I got to experience the song in a different way than most before I heard the original. If you take it seriously you will not like the song but if you picture it as a Tim Burton movie it’s a masterpiece
To be clear, A7X is in my top 3 bands. That being said, I don’t hate this song and won’t skip it if it comes up, however I won’t actively look for it. That’s me, other fans it’s their #1. I actually seen a video of a couple performing a skit to ALPOH as their just married first dance at the wedding reception. 😂
Don't go looking for a metaphor. It's basically the song version of watching a horror/thriller movie. It's supposed to be over the top graphic and ridiculous, that's the point. 10/10 banger though.
The story behind this song is a little complicated. It was written by their drummer who died during the making of the album, but it was only partially complete. The band made a decision that they were going to try and finish the songs The Rev had started writing. The Rev liked writing really creative but "out there" stuff, in fact if the Rev hadn't died then this song might not have ended up on the album. But its a part of his legacy now, and the band honors that by also including this in most of their set lists. As crazy as it sounds considering the lyrical content of the song, the band completed this out of love for their fallen friend.
I don't know if this is entirely true. I believe this came out in 2007 on the Avenged Sevenfold titled album. The rev died in 2009 I believe. There is an entire making of the song of the rev and m shadows really getting into it. It was meant for a Halloween track first but they ended up putting a lot of time and resources into it. It's amazing how much went into it. I think you may be thinking of Fiction on the Nightmare album. That was the last song he wrote and then died if I remember correctly and they added it to the album. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
for context this song was originally going to be a Halloween EP but when their publisher heard it they insisted it be part of a album. nothing about this song is meant to be taken seriously, its just a little Halloween special that made its way to a main line album by complete accident. the story makes more sense with the music video. you got the first part right about him killing her, necrophilia but in the video she comes back from the dead to kill him then they both live on as the undead, kill everyone in a church, then have a wedding in the church. it is funny having someone watch the lyric video and try to guess what its about though. its not that deep. its not a metaphor for anything. the lyrics are literal.
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Took me a while to understand the dynamics, but I absolutely love the mix of the circus music and metal. So, so cool. The Stage is another great listen.
yeah music video makes a lot of sense so you must watch it, it's not really metaphor what they say in lyrics is done in music video. also yeah this wasn't serious concept, the first idea was to make it a hallowen special song but honestly it's so fun and edgy it turned in to one of the biggest avenged sevenfold songs
Now you have to go watch the epic animated video. I just found your channel last week, love your reactions, I was excited for this one because its fun to watch people react to how insane it is.
Good reaction, this is one you really need to see the music video for lol. It's the story animated. as a synopsis, guy is nervous about asking girl to marry him, guy kills girl, guy does "stuff" to girl, girl comes back as a zombie, girl kills guy, guy goes to hell, guy comes back as zombie, guy and girl zombie make up, zombie wedding and eat the guests XD it's.. just a trippy circus performance and it's amazing. It might be worth another reaction honestly. It's... a trip.
A guy who kills a girl and turns her into a corpse bride because he's afraid of the possibility of being rejected, she comes back to life as a zombie and turns him into one too and they life happily ever after, classy xD you really should watch the official animated video, turns the creep factor up to 11^^ and then remember these are the same guys who wrote that sad, beautiful tribute "so far away" xP
I can't say I hate the lyrics of this song, I also don't love them but what I do love is the instrumentation in the track. I don't know how many times I've listened to this song since it came out but I honestly think It's beautifully arranged.
This was entirely written by the drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. He's also the one singing the "Must've stabbed her fifty fuckin' times" parts and does backups through the whole thing WHILE playing. He was an absolute legend and a jokester and this song portrays his personality so fucking well (the craziness of it, not the murdering-necrophiliac part).
For this song they basically locked themselves in a cabin in the mountains and just wanted to make something outrageous. There drummer the late great jimmy the rev Sullivan was the one who had the idea for this song but he was timid about sharing it but the whole band embraced the insanity and produced the most disturbing love story ever
The man who did the horn arrangement for this song was in Danny Elfman's band Oingo Boingo. Danny Elfman is notorious for writing and singing songs for Tim Burton films if that helps. Lol
Haven't even watched it yet and I'm already howling with laugher. I've known every word to this since I was 15 which is honestly concerning 😅 The whole thing was a joke between Jimmy and Matt, they were just dicking about, but you should watch the animated music video its hilariously fucked up

You need to watch the music video for this song. It is a satire song and it is an animated video that is just amazingly done.
yeah music video makes a lot of sense so you must watch it, it's not really metaphor what they say in lyrics is done in music video. also yeah this wasn't serious concept, the first idea was to make it a hallowen special song but honestly it's so fun and edgy it turned in to one of the biggest avenged sevenfold songs
Should of done the official music video it tells the story
It's... a trip.
you have to watch the video for sure
A guy who kills a girl and turns her into a corpse bride because he's afraid of the possibility of being rejected, she comes back to life as a zombie and turns him into one too and they life happily ever after, classy xD you really should watch the official animated video, turns the creep factor up to 11^^ and then remember these are the same guys who wrote that sad, beautiful tribute "so far away" xP
The fact you went to the Cantina Band melody from Star Wars at 2:20 cracked me 😂😂😂😂 awesome video!!
You need to see the official video😅😅😅
I can't say I hate the lyrics of this song, I also don't love them but what I do love is the instrumentation in the track. I don't know how many times I've listened to this song since it came out but I honestly think It's beautifully arranged.
This was entirely written by the drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. He's also the one singing the "Must've stabbed her fifty fuckin' times" parts and does backups through the whole thing WHILE playing. He was an absolute legend and a jokester and this song portrays his personality so fucking well (the craziness of it, not the murdering-necrophiliac part).
I said something like this too but not as perfectly put. Geniusly insane songs from a beautifully fucked up mind. ❤
Oh snap! Lovin’ the roller coaster ride Teddy. 🇺🇸✌🏽
Different one for you to check out: Rammstein - Mein Teil. Real story, you’ll need the translation because it’s in German.
You gotta watch them play this live!! ♥️
Its a love story :p love that trascends human and spiritual plains. Lol
The motivation behind the song was purely to shock people because it’s funny 😂
It's so ridiculous but you can't help but bop along to this track.
you gotta watch the music video hahahaha
For this song they basically locked themselves in a cabin in the mountains and just wanted to make something outrageous. There drummer the late great jimmy the rev Sullivan was the one who had the idea for this song but he was timid about sharing it but the whole band embraced the insanity and produced the most disturbing love story ever
This song goes hard af live
I think people who react to this song for the first time really need to do the music video version so they understand it’s a Halloween themed song 😂😂😂
Jimmy said he had a dream that inspired him to write ALPOH
I think this is the only song with the shock value and satire that you have to watch the video to fully grasp the message
The music video explains a lot
The man who did the horn arrangement for this song was in Danny Elfman's band Oingo Boingo.
Danny Elfman is notorious for writing and singing songs for Tim Burton films if that helps. Lol
Gotta do Bat Country. What a tune!
Haven't even watched it yet and I'm already howling with laugher.
I've known every word to this since I was 15 which is honestly concerning 😅
The whole thing was a joke between Jimmy and Matt, they were just dicking about, but you should watch the animated music video its hilariously fucked up
One of my all time favorite videos!!
Lmaooooo, this is why you need to watch the video, offline on your own time of course. UA-cam doesnt exactly like this video lol.
3.07, I am so excited for you to hear this piece, really was a big album for me in some dark times! made the best of me, got back into my dreams and trained hard!
LMFAO 😂 I'm literally in tears
Don't put it on UA-cam lol
Also the music video is super fun but everyone knows this song is super fucked lol
"Cover your ears BP" HAHAHA so sweet
