when recording this video, what graphics card are you using? i have a 1660 super and a ryzen 7 37oo x that I run my streams on. no one seems to have a video covering non RTX cards for OBS.
Ive watched a lot of obs settings tutorials between gaming careers, Harris heller, epos vox, etc & this was one of the best. Had no idea about shutting off the preview. Thanks man!
Hey, just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Complys! I'm new to streaming and despite having a pretty decent spec'd PC I was getting some terrible laggy content when trying to stream through OBS. Applying these settings absolutely fixed the issues I was having. My stream is now crisp and clear. I'll now dabble in tweaking a few settings to see where the sweet spot between performance and quality is, but for now, these settings are amazing!
For the preview window I recommend setting a hotkey for it and if you have a recording profile set up, make a separate streaming one if you don't want to accidently mess with your settings.
Thank you so much! My stream quality has well improved after these settings and they aren't killing my CPU. You just got a new subscriber. 😉 The turning off the preview window dropped my CPU usage with about 15%. After watching dozens of obs settings videos, I can honestly say that this is the best one.
Coming back to this video with my new PC/Monitor bc it was literally a cheat code for my last PC. Suprised this hasn't hit way more views, thanks for the video🙌
Most helpful settings vid and I've seen hundreds of them, subbed! I was having the worst time on a Rtx 2070 super/3900xt/32gigs Ram. In Star Citizen I managed to get a smooth game but horrid stream (fragmented/blurry) until I applied your settings. Now I can stream 1080p@60 and have yet to see any drops! Stream now looks awesome! Thanks a ton!
Extremely helpful man. I’ve been having a ton of issues with streamlabs lately and tbh I was just too stubborn to switch over until tonight. 100% will be applying these tomorrow when I get up. Thanks man :)
Why don’t you keep the base canvas at the same resolution as your monitor then just change the Output to 864p? I’ve found if i change them both the screen doesn’t fit, i can rescale it but whenever i change scenes etc it will rescale back automatically and not fit perfectly again
i have a 11-11700/2060 and had so many issues because i used some other settings i saw on a video. this video fixed everything and my stream runs so good and i still get high frames over 150fps. thank you so much!!! :D
I went from a stream with 40000 framedrops to a stream with 0 framedrops thanks to this video! It absolutely works and if you are having problems with your pc and obs just copy exactly what he said, I ended up not even needing the program he recommended at the end!!
Windows Game Modes only functionality is to hide Windows notifications such as updates and other things, it does not mess with CPU scheduling or anything else.
In a nutshell... Dual PC X264 (Depending on CPU), Single PC - NVENC. I run Dual PC and my dedicated CPU is a 5950x and let me tell you. Overkill... HVENC is nice but I find little details with my OCD that bothers me why I over-killed a rig to do X264 but HVENC is coming around!
This is one of the best videos on the subject I've watched, and I've watched A LOT since I've been having "Frames missed due to rendering lag" issues for a while now. After following these suggestions, that seems to have improved however I still see frames missed. I don't think I should have this issue, I have an I9 intel CPU and an RTX 2080 Ti FE GPU which should handle rendering of a stream with no issues. I still get 7 ms average to render frames even when I'm not even streaming nor recording. I run OBS in portable mode, maybe that's it? Who knows! Kudos for this video, is goes straight to the point (all other videos take way tooooo long in their intros), and you give exactly the information that is needed and a brief easy to understand explanation of what the changes do for you. Nobody else does that without loosing people in technical details. Thanks again!
just the guide i was looking for, thank you bro… did so much searching and this is the most in depth i’ve seen… any bios or OS settings you recommend changing or no?
So Prio doesn't work on Windows 11. Every time I tried to right click in details it crashed my task manager. After uninstalling Prio it worked again. Great tutorial regardless!
@@beaszty Nope, it most likely still doesn't work. I ended up leaving Prio uninstalled and found an alternative using my PC's built in management system, provided by the company that built my PC (Omen).
I am using single pc streaming . I have i7 8700k and rtx 2080 super . Which settings do you recommend me ? I mostly play fps games and dead by daylight
followed you on twitch. Couldnt find if you were affiliate or partner. Was thinking maybe thats why you can go over 6k. Very helpful video though. Messing with settings now and ill check it later. I have a modern mid-high teir machine(5800x, 32gb ram, 3070ti) and run into problems with some titles when I do not have obs as my selected window it will start running bad. Hoping the admin setting changes it. Thanks!
i love your video. but the only problem i noticed from other videos ive watched is that they forget including this video that a dedictaed server for a region plays an important role for a consistent connection. for example, in OBS on the stream tab the server bar under service has no dedicated sever for africa as awhole. which worries me. u may suggest i go with auto but my internet struggles with even 2000 kbps on 480p. despite having 15 to 20Mbps upload speed on average. i doubt its my ISP but the distance of the server. Im an africa streamer based in nigeria. I;ll still try ur settings but use a lower resolution and see how things work out. thank you.
Can you do movement settings video? I look at CLG lou and his wall jumps are so clean. I know how to tap strafe and wall jump but i cant do wall jumps like him i feel like im missing something.
Also if you run it as admin instead of refular you wont have to set the priority at all it will be number one as priorritt but i guess its an ok app so you dint ahve to run admin
i followed every step (starting from default) but now my stream output is showing the 720 I picked but only of the top left corner and cutting off the bottom right side
What Video output do you recomand for 2560x1080p ultra wide monitor ? Streaming on twitch fps games so i prefere high game Performance tryed a bit arround but dont got the right Yet :(
With ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3070 ti gygabite i want to stream and record the same time with record at higher quality. Should i have to use nnveck new as enncoder for both or i have to stream with nnvidia and record with my processor? Ty
Great video. I hope your configurations work on my gaming PC. The last guy I watched here on UA-cam for this got me stills for my livestream. So I installed Prio and it does not work it doesn't even show up in the start menu. I guess Windows 10 is blocking it. I am about to try a live stream soon I am almost finished watching your video. Hope it works.

Best you’re the video running thanks for the help and support bro 😎
Thank you so much. After looking for hours I finally found, what I think is the best video on this topic. Well done homie
5:04 you don't need to run at that high of a bit rate, lowering it actually helps out in the long run for people watching stream.
yo you showed me things aint nobody on this platform showed me how to do on obs, you a real one thanks for putting me on game

Such a good Video. Does the Input Delay get higher or do i just feel it because i changed settings, and my brain search for reasons :D?

Would you still recommend these resolution settings if my native resolution is 1440p?
Me 2.. have you test it yourself now?😅
Yall gotta actually do it LMFAO, works alright for me. 720p 60 fps go figure lol

What about your upload speed/download speed? Does that matter or should we do what your bitrate is ?
Depends on your upload speed, not so much download

Hi! should i set base canvas 1920 res even tho i have 2k monitor?
thanks
Yes unless you plan on recording in 1440p
Very helpful. Thanks.
can u also do a process lasso guide for fps boosting of apex legends. thank u so much
i followed every step (starting from default) but now my stream output is showing the 720 I picked but only of the top left corner and cutting off the bottom right side
Right click your preview screen look for "Transform" and hover over it, and look for "stretch to screen" or "fit to screen" witch ever works
Hopefully I understand what you meant correctly
The priority thing won’t work for me when I right click on obs it doesn’t have the options for me all it does is pops up on process
Thankyou brow, 720p? Bit rate 5k 6k?
