I bet that dealer was being nice and helpful right after they found out how many people watch your content every week, lol.
100% ... scum bags
They are not going to have an issue selling it on either…
@@wobblysaucenope because someone's gonna delete it and put on a cp4 disaster kit and it'll never have another catastrophic failure again.
In his first video on the subject it didn’t sound like the dealer was very nice at all. Must have seen the nearly 3/4 of a million subscribers and changed their tune.
@@failranch9542 yup they treated him like shit, saw he had a following afterwards, president of the company went on to save face mode
It was nice meeting you man! Glad we turned a bad situation into not such a bad situation! I hope to see a G56 truck in the future personally and hopefully we can get some doors in the future!
You’re a real one Chris need more ppl like you!
Sweet man keep it up!
Absolute 🐐 Good on you dude.
Thank you Chris.
Not many people would do what you did the world needs more people like you
I'm a big believer in keeping the old vehicles on the road I'm all for beefing up the fummins
You and me both. Not only do they last so much longer, are easier to work on, and cheaper to work on, but they're made out of much better material. I remember my dads International Scout. He purposely rammed into a tree, and it didn't leave a mark. 😆
Same here old school only way I runnin a Toyota landcruiser 60 series atm no tech bar the digital clock lol owned her 6years only problem I had was a blocked charcoal filter fixed it for under 50 bucks😊
Me too, my 2017 Ram 3500 with 300,000 miles has never let me down once!
i dont know why he doesn't go compounds, get the trans tuned professorially, and just have an upholstery shop redo the interior with a sound system and call it a day
Usually made better, if you have to have some moder tech, install aftermarket and still be way ahead!
Shout out to Chris for being one hell of a gentleman.
It's cool that they reached out and tried to make it right. But let's be honest, if it was any of us that doesn't have a platform, they wouldn't have given a shit if we were treated like crap. How they acted without the spotlight on them showed their true colors.

Cummins power baby💪💪💪
Personally you already started building the ultimate truck with the Fummins. As you stated ALL vehicle have their issues, but if you take the best from each brand, you end up with an killer rig! I'd put an Allison behind that Cummins or a manual trans, you can always upgrade sound deadening in the truck to make it more modern, and even interior / ride quality could be upgraded.
Props to Chris for helping, that was awesome!
I wouldn't get another Ford even if I get paid to own it, we went with the Dodge and it has been great

The fummins build is one of my favorite series on the channel. I think it deserves the love to be turned into the ultimate tow rig. Lose the semi wheels, get a proper transmission tune and let er rip. Garage built is the Taylor Ray way!
The Semi wheels do look sweet though. I'm from the UK, never seen it done before. Looks so good 😅
Older trucks are always better if you can resto-mod them, bodies hold up longer and fewer things to go wrong plus no DEF. People wonder why the mid 90's F250/350's can easily go for 10k+ in even fair condition, crew cabs can get 15-20k or even up to 30-40k+
They won’t have no older trucks working here, on their jobs, but there’s a guy up north that wants help. 😾 breaking the face of anti drug MADD 😸mother and RADD race war brother 🐀

I think the Fummins is a good fit for you, I agree, the whole fact of being swapped does open doors for issues but like you’ve said, you know the truck in and out and that’s a huge advantage. I’ve always loved the megacab third gens but you’d have to have the frame extended since none of them came with an 8ft bed from the factory and that’s a big negative for 5th wheel as you know!
We hear stories like yours far too often, which is why we designed the Disaster Prevention Kit and the new DCR Pump Conversion. Thank you for using our DPK diagram in your video to help out other Ford Super Duty owners. You shouldn't have to give up on your dream truck, and they are a dream to drive and tow with. We have a 2016 and a 2021 that we use for development and towing our show trailer cross country. With a DCR Pump Conversion installed in both, we feel great about taking long trips and enjoying the ride. For what it's worth, we have had multiple reports of Ford honoring warranties with our Disaster Prevention Kit installed. If you decide to get another Ford, we can help you solve the CP4 problem so that you can "live the dream!" We can likely help with the Fummins too, if it's common rail.
Make the Fummins the ultimate tow rig like you intended when the project originally began.
Your an extremely smart man Taylor and your attention to detail should give you all the piece of mind you need to take that Fummins anywhere.
If it breaks you can fix it, and then design it not to fail that same way again.

Remind me not to go near a dealership again! Now days you pay 100K on a new truck and they shit all over you. Thanks to Chris who came to the rescue.
Yep. The $100,000 truck AND the dealership you bought it from schit all over the overpaying customers. Weird. #FJB
@@dcarts5616 unhinged af comment. Stick to your echo chamber and stay there.
I amazed Ford hasn't already done a recall to put the disaster kit on, as it would save themselves a lot of money. As they would only need to change the pump, looks really bad on Ford if this is a known issue and they try and palm the cost of the repair on to the customers. Personally I'd stick with the Fummings, as you built it and if it does break down you will more than likely get it back up and running. All the best 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@Makka668 The disaster kit break the federal emissions rules.
@@Makka668 auto manufacturers only do recalls they are forced to do. they would never do one before action has been taken against them. These trucks are expensive as hell so likely a class action lawsuit is already under way i'm sure.
The mega cab dually trucks are so good for long trips… my 08 (I know it’s not a 4th gen) is something I’ll try to hold onto for a very long time.. they’re just able to accommodate so much more comfort features than most other trucks on top of being as capable as the 6.7 is…
I love seeing the Fummins everything about it is unique and its definitely a statement of who you are!
Keep the Fummins, sort the suspension/Tyre combo, enjoy the fruits of your labour. Garage Built for the win
I'd absolutely keep the fummins and make it a labor of love just like everything else you own. You have the capability to make it exactly what you want and that includes converting it to a manual transmission if that is what you really want at the end of the day. Sure you can go out and buy something shiny and new but haven't we already learned recently enough together maybe that isn't necessarily the best option. At the end of the day you do what makes the most sense to you but my money's on making the fummins the best that it can be.
I agree! And for what it's worth a tow rig should never be shiny as everything will happen to it. Imagine working on it with fresh paint you would stress so hard at scratching it, or you get a random dent at a meet, I would go off for sure! Old and a little ugly is what you want, dents and scratches should make good adventure stories not tears and stress.
Good news about the dealer covering it under warranty. There have been unfortunate examples where dealers got caught dumping water into the fuel samples in order to claim fault on the owner in an attempt to get them to fork out for the repair. The warranty is about to run out on my TDI, so once it's done I'm doing the preventative stuff to make sure that CP4 never becomes an issue.
Everything you said about the cp4 failure is why I like old HUEI powerstrokes . They can pass gravel through the injectors. I have 400k on mine and don’t hesitate to drive the shit out of it. It’s easy to work on and parts are always available. I drive it long distances with loaded trailers. It’s mostly a matter of being in tune with your vehicle so you can avoid issues.
CP3 all day. 530K on my LLY
Chris is the type of person who gives me hope for humanity! Well done Chris!!!
Chris is the type of guy that is a "rare breed" these days, they are "few and far between".
I am a dodge guy but I love the work you have done to the fummins. Please please please 🙏 keep it and just do what you want to it. Manual swap it or what ever but you have already touched everything on it. Keep it and if anything happens you will shock yourself on how quick you fix it. Since you have already touched it. And the content you can make with it is still there
+1 for this, a truck you know how to fix anything on is so much more valuable than a truck with a warranty. Only time you'll break down in a situation where you can't just flatbed it home will be towing a trailer with a ton of tools. Can't go wrong
Thank you Chris! What a super hero! Lots of goid people out there.
Thanks for posting this. I am looking for a truck to pull a big trailer and had no idea the new trucks were like this. I greatly appreciate you honesty.
Chris helping was such an incredible thing to do. I know Ill be alot more mindful if I see someone in need of help on the highway/road.
Even though I love the wheels on the Fummins, I think you should replace them with the same kind of wheels that are on the new truck to help sort the comfort
Yep
dear gawd this. that wheel/tire combo looks like less sidewall for worse ride comfort, absolutely
100% agree. My friend put those on his Ford and ruined the ride comfort. Lucky for him, an Amish horse and buggy hit him and totaled the truck. Not so lucky for the poor horse though. 80 mph horse vs F350 was not pretty.
those wheels and tires are horrid they need changed
it's not just for comfort, it's for safety. His purpose for this truck is towing and with a ton of weight on the tires, having no sidewall is a very bad idea.
I would keep the fummins, do the upgrades and show it the love it needs. You know that truck better than anyone, since you have literally touched every bolt on it. You know it’s strong points, and it’s weak points. getting a new truck would be starting over and working through the growing pains of getting the new truck to where you want it and dealing with its potential gremlins. Either way glad you guys made it home safe!
💯 own old Toyota landcruiser and have over the years replaced or taken off n cleaned do all my own maintenance and yeah no exactly where my rigs at how old parts are oils,,, everything I actually keep a notebook on when works been done people ask me so what work have you done on the old girl n I find it easier to say what I havnt done cause it's a short list replaced things that worked properly but I wanna know where it's at mechanically n now igot spare parts for whole vehicle👍🍻🇦🇺
I will say that Chrises truck is a nice setup. Good looking truck!!
Thank God for good people like Chris out there who just decided to help for no reason!!
I vote for keeping the Fummins, your soo close to having it run flawless. Put in the work now and it will be easier to fix along side the road if it were to break down.

@@Frostyfarms that can be done. The question is, does he want to do that to the Fummins. They have engine brakes with Automatics, he might want that route. Who knows, right?
Keep the fummins 100%, it’s the best all around rig imo. That’s what he built it for
@Wyattwalker02 I feel like it is his dream truck and it has the reliability factor best of both worlds Cummins reliability and the best cab chassis
@@ricochetey agreed!
The fummins is pretty bad ass. I’d keep it, make it what you want. Upgrade the seats, the suspension, sound deaden it, the whole 9.
Love the content ! I understand the concerns of the fummins and the new trucks. I tow all over the country a 42 foot boat. I built a kodiak 5500. 5.9 cummins 13 speed fuller. Truck has full air ride. Love it towed for 2 full seasons. I did get the itch and looked at some new truck. Ended up sticking with the 5500. New trucks are nice but come with big payment and they still have the problems. You already put a lot of Time in the swap. I say finish it up and get the use from it !
As a guy who has always played the “new truck” game, I fully advocate for building your own vision of the perfect tow pig. OEM’s design to cover as many end users as they can, so the things you see as super important might be overlooked. Every single thing you want to accomplish with your tow rig can be done through fabrication and aftermarket, then you have the knowledge of how correct it is because you did it yourself. I think you have an excellent starting point in your fummins. That iteration of the Cummins has excellent longevity and reliability as well as aftermarket support, as does the Ford trans. The truck platform is reasonably solid too, with good creature comforts. Build what you have. You’re already 75% done with what a lot of guys would consider the “ultimate tow rig”
If you get an itch to sell the Ford/Cummins build, it will go fast. So many people in the diesel world that use these "new" and creature comfort truck are stuck in Nebraska or Main with a "warentee" paper in there pocket. This is there only means of income and dealers treat them like trash. Just for laughs, look up how many other vehicles use this cp-4/3 pump! This is no joke. Its been talked about for yrs now.
@@delawareseastcoastpuller5545 "warranty" :)
If you keep the Fummins, give it all the love and upgrades you can, there's a lot of amazing history with the channel and it's such a cool unique truck! On the other hand, you sound really excited about the mega-cab dually Cummins with manual trans - that could be an awesome new chapter too. Love the content and love how you share your learning and reflections so openly with us. Keep it cummins!
Mega cabs are short box only from factory.
Like others say on here, I'd say keep the Fummings truck you have and do the upgrades you've talked about. If you're worried about the ride consider investing in the air bag suspension. At least if you have any issues, minor / major, on the road you'll be able to fix them yourself without waiting for a tow truck and have to deal with the dealer to fix the issues. That would be my 2¢. Hope you make the decision that is right for you. Also thanks to Chris for coming to your rescue. He deserved much props!!
All depends on how much you plan on pulling that trailer around the US, but what about looking into a really good used Freightliner M2 106 or 112.
Shout out to Chris saving the day, shows us goodbye side of the interwebs and social media. That dealer was backing up all that negative 😅
Chris is such a good guy. Kudos to that man, he seemed happy to be able to help which is rare nowadays
Just wana say to the subscriber that loaned his truck out, your an angel in disguise. Being stuck like that far frm home and no way to get back. Damn. You deserve a big ty. Good heart my dude. Not to many ppl are that trustworthy.
Glad to see this truck videos have been performing well
I hope you continue to build up your Fummins! I feel like that is the best of both worlds like you said without the current trucks failure modes. Would love to do a fummins build in my excursion some day.
Im Team Fummins! I think your last video many people made a great point about getting different wheels and tires to improve the ride aspect. Im also curious to see if the transmission tune you add to it will be your silver bullet.
Hats off to Chris for lending a helping hand! It's great to see such kindness and generosity. 👏👍✨ He's definitely a stand-up guy, and his assistance is truly appreciated.
I just went back and watched the fummins build series. That thing is built right, it's cool, and most importantly, it's paid for. I'm team Fummins all day long. Id be driving that bad boy
I've bought new and I have bought used. In my book, now with the long engine warranties available, I buy new. Then I keep it forever. I have one with about 87,000 miles on it and it's an 2007 model, and I have an 2011 with over 127,000 miles on it. Both were new and I have been the original owner and I do most of the general work ie; brakes, oil changes, plugs, filters and most common repairs. As I've done everything from rebuilding engines, automatic and standard transmissions, differentials, and axels, I'm like you in watching most mechanical issues. But, the aspects of having new on most systems wins the game.
Great video, thanks for the info on diesels.
Shout out to Chris and the other genuine people on the internet! The world needs more people like you!
Anything with a cp4 should be replaced. And a class action lawsuit should be stated.
Ram even went back to the CP3 pump in '21.
I dont know why anyone would buy a Ford SuperDuty. They always have problems.
Cp4's are garbage
Absolutely.
And they STILL kept the CP4 on the new '23. That H.O. 6.7 is going to be a nightmare on service down the line...
Isn't this partly because US diesel fuel sucks? I've been seeing a bunch of articles about that over the last month or two.
A g56 mega cab dually is hard to beat but the fummins with a zf6 swap would also be hard to beat. The 6.7 is a pretty good motor but the simplicity of the 5.9 is great also
stay with the fummins, got history and would like to see it 100% its a sick rig
You have the ultimate tow rig. Make it right, drive it. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Sad to see such an awesome rig go but i think the best tow rig you can have is what you already got! The Fummins is gonna be reliable and easy to work on. Put a billet trans in it and you will never worry another day in your life. Sad to see that you had such a terrible experience at that dealership, at least they are willing to buy the truck back, but as others have said the pump isnt just a ford issue. All the manufacturers are having issues with them, i guy i know bought a 2019 cummins brand new and within 10k miles his pump went out and they told him HE GOT WATER IN HIS DIESEL, and they wouldnt cover it! It cost him another 16k out of his own pocket to gwt it fixed. Stick the with the fummins and keep up the hard work man! 💪
Mega Cab, Aisin transmission Dually with the long bed conversion. So much interior space and don't have to worry about crushing the cab. I've towed a 25K/lb toyhauler all over the western US, over some big mountain passes with zero issues.
never rely on the dealer or their warranties, that's the main rule.
Lmao.
@Dennis Duffy well most people are able to learn how to work on them.
Should probably mention. Do not trust aftermarket warranties. Im fairly sure that's what he was sold and naturally they did very little of what they promised.
The dealer he got towed to probably doesn't offer the same warranty as its dealer by dealer. So a dealer 3 states would (and did) react very differently than the one who sold him the truck
@Dennis Duffy how many brand new vehicles have you seen spit a rod out the block? Like yeah no shit in that situation yes make them pay for it. But people rely on warranty too much so that's how you get cars being treated like washing machines thrown out as soon as they break out of warranty
$74,988 is what the dealership listed his old truck for.
holy. shit.
Lol 😆 🤣 better off buying a new one
New is $100k+. That price it's listed is $10k below what any are selling for
Hope the gave him something reasonable for it
You can get a badass 3rd gen Cummins and a decent bay boat for that kind of money. Crazy how many people hate money.
I believe if it wasn't for your videos, they probably would have crapped on you. I didnt like their attitude from the get go but did like your videos. A reminder to all of us who tow.
hats off for chris
and use your old truck, just add new seats to it and it be amazing!!
I think one of the reasons you were fortunate enough to have your dealership write this up as a warrantied repair, is because of your UA-cam channel. They probably figured that if they didn't warranty the repairs, as Ford commonly does with these trucks, they would get put on blast for being butt monkeys, and they didn't want to deal with the backlash. As for what to buy next, I know I'm going to be in the market myself, hopefully in the near future, for a diesel pickup, so I'll just tell you what I already have my eyes ready to look at. I'm thinking king cab, long bed, 4X4, Cummins Ram, but it cannot be any newer than 2006 because, I don't want to have to deal with DEF, or any fines for deleting it.
My dad doesn't have a youtube channel has a 2016 6.7 F-250. Recently had an issue with the DEF heater. It was out of warranty time. Ford in Baton Rouge fixed it as a warranty and didn't charge him. Its not uncommon and I have been around many of these trucks, used a 2012 and 2014 extensively driving around the country. They are good vehicles.
The way this channel is purposed , I’d love to see a build on a truck
When you do builds you think of everything
It would be interesting to see your thought train on it
You’ve got a good base truck to work with and the talent to make it great
Forget about a new truck just build your own, you’ve got every skill needed
He built his fummins frame up a couple years ago, it’s a good series
Definitely like the idea of the mega cab dually. Put a big turbo and a nice fass system on it and call it a day!
Well I’m glad it all worked out. Maybe not a perfect transition, but you seem satisfied all things considered.
Just a heads up if you want a mega cab you’ll need to get a custom one to get a long bed. The short beds have less room than Chris’s truck to turn without hitting the cab. Dodge doesn’t make mega cab long beds either so it would have to be done by a shop
That crew cab is only a 6'4" bed and HD megas have a 6'4" too.
I was wondering where he would find a mega cab long bed. I've looked. They don't exist. But..... doesn't mean it can't be done
@Scott Aga There is a company that specializes in making them.
@@muttdozer they do exist, just not from the factory. It’s been done
Incorrect Ryan, it is the exact….same…..bed as Chris’ truck.
You would have to have a mega cab long bed “made”. And as mentioned by several others, there are companies that specialize in this exact conversions.
Chris the man the myth the absolute legend of a person this is what the automotive community is all about there needs to be more people like chris
I hate to think what kind of loss you took on that truck.
You are very lucky they covered that repair under warranty. 2020 was a horrible year for injection pump failures, Ram even recalled theIr Cummins trucks and replaced the pumps at no charge to the owner. Most Ford dealers are crooks and will do and say anything to not cover that repair under warranty. I also agree that it would have been better to have a truck not under warranty, then you fix it yourself. I’ve done a handful of these fuel system jobs after the pump failed and I’m confident the job can be done in a day in a parking lot with the right tools and the right people. Hell of a story man, thanks for sharing!
I fell for the "get a new car and the waruntee will cover it if anything goes wrong" as well.. Funnily enough with a 2014 Ford fiesta 😂😂
Ram 1 ton manual. Mini semi truck. Engine brake and manual tranny reliability. And who doesn’t like shifting gears.
Bigger side wall tires and helper air bags would probably make that truck ride so smooth.
Fummins is amazing. Glad you still have it.
Keep the Fummins! Once its completely dialed in, it'll definitely be nicer in the long run.
Fummins, you have already put so much time and effort into that truck, you know you have done a high-quality build, just finish the job and make it perfect. You won't regret it.
Need more people in this world like Chris, as far as the truck goes an inline diesel w/ a manual trans is the only way to go.

Been a mechanic for 53 years and find that water getting as far as the injectors is a rediculous situation , considering the filters and watertraps is has to pass, my last job was working for a fast expanding construction company, around 30 different kinds of diesel equipment, we had a fuel tank at the depot so when water problems started showing up we installed an additional watertraps "before" the fuel filters, when you have machines the can earn $500-$700 an hour you cant muck about, personally i believe a lot of water problems are picked up while fueling the vehicle in the rain and placing the fuel cap on a wet surface
Wow. What a story. I’ve just watched 3 videos of the new truck back to back. However, it’s funny because I was going to mention a mega cab Cummins stick but get it modified with the 8’ bed. Those are sick.
Chris to the rescue. Legend.
Your medium term plan sounds like the best: get the transmission sorted on the Fummins and a few other not so costly things and start using it, while gathering all the info on the alternatives. Then in a few months time you'll know what you want to end up with.
The best advice I have ever heard about buying a car is that "the best car is the one you already own"
I respect whatever decision you make but the Fummins is a very sorted truck and getting the last bit taken care of makes more sense than buying a new truck and starting with something completely new. I watched that build series and you put a LOT of time and thought into it and I think you did a great job!
Thank you for the update to your breakdown. You just stopped me from making a huge mistake. I was going tomorrow to put offer on 2020 f350 w/ 50k miles. The cp4 issue popped up yesterday in my investigation. I said it must not be that bad if Ford is still using...I think I was wrong. I've been reading horror stories the last 24 hours and then your video pops up. I've never seen your channel. But glad I did today!!!
Now I'm back to square one. I was originally looking at Rams only. Because of Cummins. But the new ones have me walking away...guess I'll get me a team of horses! Thanks again.
Yes sir everything breaks down or can break down at any given time. Nice to know the problem with the truck.
You have the perfect tow rig. What is stopping you right now from hooking it up and going to an event? Maintenance?... bet you could do it without even doing that. We need more people like Chris.
Rides like shit and has electrical problems. Can’t even leave the battery in the truck.
Keep the fummins and do a second build series transforming it into the ultimate tow rig. Do some F450 axles, a compound turbo setup for towing get the transmission tuned right. I think that would be the best way to go and I would love to watch it!
450 front axel is SO nice. The turning radius is insane!
@@alecmiley oh yeah! plus bigger brakes and 19.5s, he’ll need to also swap the gear box if he wants the turning radius tho. Oh and the rear axle is massive!
Unfortunately Ford, GM and Dodge all use the Bosch CP4 pump depending on the year range and they all suffer the same problem. The Cummins is just by nature easier to change because of the location on a straight 6. I did one on a 2013 Duramax. I changed all the rubber fuel lines because of age and difficulty to reach, changed the pump and injectors, but did nothing with the fuel tank and only blew out all the hard lines with brake cleaner and compressed air. I couldn’t afford the disaster kit. It’s been running fine for 15,000 miles now.
Similar but different story. I use fuel oil to heat my house and bought my own barrels at 40 bucks a piece to bring it home myself. I bought me a 12-volt Diesel fuel pump at the parts store. A visibly there's a little bit of water in the bottom of the barrel that killed the pump instantly. I tried a second pump and the same result. Not a solution for your car but my solution was to get an aquarium air pump and a t on the siphon hose. I have 150 ft of Polly something or another tubing that carries the oil to the big tank wherever that might be at my storage area. I've had problems moving the oil just because of a little water that couldn't get past the centrifical diesel pump. How one can protect their fuel tank on their trucks from contaminated fuel, just a drop of water will kill the machine.
WE REALLY NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE CHRIS AND HONESTLY TAYLOR (People who bring whatever they used back topped off or in the same condition if not better)
Yes we do but Ryan didn't show his appreciation just by giving him crappy merch and a gas full tank lol when you get that type of appreciation doesn't make you wanna help anyone
@@LizCal-yp3jr What was he suppose to do?
@@LizCal-yp3jr You seem mad
@@Burley_Bert lol no one's mad 🤣😂. I speak facts that makes me angry ? Lol he's being a cheap skate should give more to the guy then some merch lmao
The Fummins is the ultimate tow rig and you already have it and have put a ton of time and money into that truck plus it was built frame up by you so you know that truck inside and out and the ability to get parts at any of the parts houses across the country is also a win if your out of state. Keep building that truck to your liking and it will take care of you.
Keep the other one, look at the sidewalls of the new truck, that helps with smooth ride, change tires on old truck to those high sidewall tires. Low profile tires ride ruff.
I downloaded this video and provided it to my ford service advisor. I’ve ask that Ford send out a service alert so we can get these all replaced under warranty. Just like the Tailgate release. This was a good vehicle but rather than sending people off to yet another vehicle by some other manufacture that has yet different problems.
All of the mega cabs are short beds, but you could always go that route and make it a long bed. Not the most cost-effective way, but they do look awesome.
The 4 gen cummin sounds like a good idea and might you can do things to it to Mach it better for towing
I think you should build the Fummins, and have the goal of making the most fixable truck in case it breaks down.
Like, refresh it and use lines you know you can get at X auto parts store.
Kind of like how some FD teams build their cars on jackstands, because the tracks won't have lifts.
You've already done it mostly that way, but I think you could make it even more serviceable just in case it does have an issue.
It would also be a direction for the build.
I've only owned 1 car with a warranty in my life and it's the only car that ever left me stranded. It was just out of warranty also.
So sorry about the challenges. I love the look of the Super Duty and the interior design. I wanted one bad. This fuel pump issue though is why I just bought a Silverado 2500 HD. They changed out that pump and seem to have a lot less issues than any of the other diesel trucks.
Love the Fummins content and a guy like you and with your skill set you can turn that truck into anything you want.
What an awesome guy Chris is for lending his truck. I feel so sorry for anyone that has to go through a bad experience like that, especially with a newer diesel. I myself had a small experiance with an 03 cummins and bad injectors years ago, so I just decided to hang it up and go back to gas. Being that you have the Fummins, I would definitely upgrade it to the way you like it and save over buying a newer truck, besides you already know what you have. It's kind of a funny thing, but theres a reason that all the manufactures keep the gas models around. Anything these days is a catch 22 anymore.
I did the same thing with my 2021 F350 Dually, I just didnt trust the cp4. It was showing some sign of premature failure. You made the right choice
Might be bias...but get a Kodiak or Topkick 4500-5500 with a LBZ OR LMM DURAMAX 4×4 or 2wd depending on your needs. Love ours and they are easy to work on👍🇺🇸
Keep the Fummins! You said yourself you can break down in anything. You've put the work in to it already and about to put more into it. Having the control over what you can work on and repair with the fummins greatly out ways the fancy bells and whistles on a new truck. Especially, when you already have the Fummins sitting there begging to be used.
