      ExtremeTerrain.com how much longer are the new shocks? I need new shocks for my yj and i bought it with this kit already on it. It also has a 3” body lift will that affect the shock length too?!?

    Nicely done. I installed the Rubicon Express 2.5" suspension on my '91 YJ back in 2012. It has been great so far.
    I didn't use the front brake hard line extensions that came with the kit and opted to install longer flexible brake lines instead. Also didn't reinstall the front track bar. I did install a dropped pitman arm (stock XJ pitman arm). I did use the rear shock relocation brackets until I swapped in an XJ Dana-44 rear axle. I now have a shock mounting stud welded on the spring plates.

    Nice video but never tighten spring ends until the Jeep is sitting on the ground. Another thing
    I’ve never had this kinda luck working on a rusty Vehicle, always getting the torch the Sawzall
    and a BFH.

    Rubicon express leaf springs are made overseas, not in U. S. Not as good as they used to be. Broke main leaf at little sluice on Rubicon 3 years ago. B D S or Allen are manufactured in U. S. If you plan on using them hard, find out if they have gone back to American materials. Very good video on how to do this install. You don't really need the track bars with leaf springs. Consider them optional.

    I put this kit on about a year ago. Absolutely love the stance, the look, and the ride. I had 31" tires on it initially, but they looked too small after the lift. So, I upgraded to 33"s, and now it looks perfect. I removed the trackbars, both front and rear- vastly improved the ride. Overall, great quality kit. Can't recommend it enough.

    I'm looking at this lift and the Rough Country and lift and my obvious question is why does it seem like there is so much more additional stuff to do and install on this lift versus the RC lift? Is the RC not factoring in all these are things you need to replace or this just optional stuff to make the RE lift "better"?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 років тому +1

      Both are sold options! But the RoughCountry lift is definitely a bit more bare bones. This RubiconExpress lift will come with extra accessories to make things a little more complete overall like the transfer case drop kit and degree shims to keep your driveline angles in check, brake line extensions, a front track bar bracket to keep your axle centered and quick disconnecting sway bar links. You could always purchase the Rough Country lift if you plan taking care of your driveline angles and track bar differently (by getting a slip-yoke eliminator kit and new driveshaft, get getting an adjustable track bar instead of using brackets), but this RE kit does a nice job of including solutions as part of this kit. Hope this helps! -Zach

    • @BrandenFarmer
      @BrandenFarmer 5 років тому +1

      @@extremeterrain So can I put the RC lift on and be good? Or is it an incomplete lift and I will need to buy extra stuff?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 років тому +1

      @@BrandenFarmer I wouldn't call the RoughCountry lift incomplete, since you can run a YJ with it and things will work fine. But *personally* I would recommend getting something like the RubiconExpress because it is more complete in comparison. Having those extra bits will really help you in the long-term and prevent any issues from popping up like death wobble or driveline vibrations. -Zach

    will 31s look very small with the lift?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 роки тому

      I don't think so! 31's paired up with 2.5" of lift is a great combination for YJs. Anything larger tire-wise and you'll likely run into rubbing and clearance issues. If you want to run 33" tires, I would recommend looking into a larger 3.5" or 4" lift kit. -Zach
