We need a compilation of customers describing wildly specific sounds coming from their car, that make you go "No way a car can make that sound", but then the sound is somehow exactly what was described

The snow plow guy, man. That really had me rolling. Not only did he trash one, no, he bought a second one and did the exact same thing that expectedly also wrecked the second. You really got to wonder how some people made it to adulthood in the first place.

I once saw a guy in a parts store measuring air filters to find the one for his car.
The holes looked like they were made with a pencil. It's not surprising that it wouldn't filter any air or that the car stalled under load.
It was very effective at filtering the air, as clearly none made it into the engine
Repair waiting rooms should should have this channel on repeat. The customers would be either amazed or laughing until their issue showed up on video. Then crickets.

@@mikebrodeur6802 some of these people are what I can only call "dumbsmart". Smart enough to know that a spark plug's gap may need to be adjusted, but too much of a meathead to not screw it up very badly in incredibly stupid ways.
I've been vehicle technician for 15 years and this is an honest question. Does anyone still gap spark plugs?
All the plugs I've seen in the last 20 years have been pre-gapped. I think I saw my father gap a set of plugs back in about 1993 and I haven't seen it done since.
Holy shit that Kia Sorento is a friggin trooper! Not only did it have MULTIPLE rod failures, but it kept on truckin despite having blown multiple gaping holes in itself.
Poor thing held out long enough to die peacefully in a shop with mechanics there to guide it to the afterlife.
And, it apparently blew up without making any odd noises!?!?!
My friend spun a bearing in his 2.5L Fiero, the rod smashed through the block, and he drove it the rest of the way home with it sounding like "a steam train".
All it wanted was to be peacefully laid to rest!

My grandfather, who was my father figure for the vast majority of my life, passed away a few days ago. I'd show him some of the clips in your videos, and he'd get a good kick out of them! So thank you for helping create some of my favorite memories of him!!

I have had the displeasure of meeting some extremely affluent people who are so dumb that they don't know which end of a screwdriver to use.
People save up to buy a nice car, then are like ??? When parts are more expensive also.
I feel bad for the second to last one with the Lexus. Electronic door latches are just stupid. If you have to have a mechanical failsafe just have it be mechanical to begin with, it cuts cost on both engineering the electronic version and for the wiring. Maybe I'm just boomer-minded and behind the times, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the way door latches have been done for a hundred years.

It's NOT a helicopter light. It's obviously a AUTOGYRO/ GYROPLANE light. Big difference! Helicoptors don't have a propeller in the front. People these days...

That one blew me away. As a former own of a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger stock at 80 I could feel the front end lift and become really light feeling. Needless to say 80 became a no go for me. I can't imagine doing a 100 in it. That was with no damage. This maniac

@@rogerwilco2 I've got a 1999 ford ranger, I don't think it can go 100 and I agree with the other guy in that I wouldn't want to test it. It's in relatively good condition for a Minnesota truck but they aren't really built for speed and it's lost a lot of horses!

My favorite ones are the "shop declined to repair". Attaboy! Send that junk down the road.
Can autoshops red tag vehicles like an IA certified A&P can red tag and ground an aircraft due to unsafe airworthiness components? Granted it'd be roadworthiness in the case of cars.
I feel itd be a liability to see a non roadworthy car roll into your shop, and then just knowingly tell them to eff off down the road elsewhere to go cause a major accident.
Like theres no way shops cant not stop a death trap from going on the road right? Or is it a bit more legally complicated than I may have realized?
There are reasons a shop will decline to make a repair. For example, the vehicle repair is beyond the shops scope of their ability or the vehicle is a health hazard like the one full of cigarettes and roaches. They don't just "send the car down the road" any legit shop will have a form stating the reason they declined the repair and a copy will be given to the vehicle owner. Remember, any business can decline service to any "customer" for any reason in this country. If the owner of the fucked up vehicle gets into a crash, it is NOT the fault of the shop that refused to work on the vehicle. That said..my favorite is the one where the shop actually wants to fix the vehicle, but the vehicle owner refuses to get it fixed. That is the person to be shaming, not the shop owner!

I’d love to believe all these people are unemployed or drug dealers, but well, experience has something else to say about that. I’m an industrial electrician. My wife’s girl friend knew someone that needed a receptacle in a house looked at. The guy was a lawyer and his wife was a professor. I get there and they take me to the kitchen where a receptacle was laying on the table with the conductors stretched back to the wall box. He says it won’t work. Turns out the circuit had kicked when their 4 year old daughter spilled juice and shorted it.
I just… how did anyone think this was a smart move? They pulled it out of the wall and yanked so hard it pulled the staples out that secured the Romex so his cell phone charger would reach where he sat. Could’ve killed his child or burnt the house down, but he never even thought twice.

I'm pretty sure the complaint was that it only happens when stopping. If you never thought about where the gas intake is, you might not realize this should happen and be surprised. He probably expected it to run smoothly and then just die.

If I owned a vehicle repair shop, I would have the following sign posted at the entrance and the exit to the property. "We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason, or for no reason at all. Please see management if you have any questions."
And have the management office in another state. :))
I use to do PC repair and had to refuse work due to insect infestations a few times. We would bag them up and call the customer to come get them. It was always so awkward handing them their computer in a bag like it was toxic waste.

I'm not a fan of Mercedes (except their old diesels), but I'm impressed that one made it to almost 100K miles on the factory engine oil.
Really it makes economic sense considering what oil changes cost. You saved enough to buy a new vehicle. At least a good downpayment.

I smoked for over 50 years (I quit) and none of my vehicles ever looked like the cigarette one!! I kept my vehicles kind of clean. Worked construction so wasn't too concerned about how clean they were but I would have never let that happen!!

You can never be to sure these days. You know how it is with all the U tube videos around to prove that it is only 2 bolts to do the job.....right.

I think the fact that they are alive is the surest evidence that breathing is involuntary. If they had to think to do it, there's no way they would have made it. It is also evidence that being stupid is a lot like being dead, in that it's easier on the actual person while the others around them suffer more from their condition...

A spark plug is a spark plug. Who cares about the length, power output, gap, or even threading. They're all the same, right? ... Right?

It amazes me how for some of these a "customer declined the repair(s)".. here (Europe) your car has to pass a yearly technical inspection... they'd be scrapped or fixed immediately.
There are a large number of vehicles on our roads that aren't licensed at all, with drivers that have no license.
Some states have inspections, mines every two years.... Problem is many shops don't care bc they don't make money on inspection unless they have you fix it.
I used to be an Inspector.
And for the customers that don't care (most seen on here) you can almost always find someone who will take an extra $20 and pass it.
Some states the car can be perfectly safe but won't pass if the check engine lights are on.
@@shannonharrisThis. Also, to make matters worse, many cars will throw a check engine light for mundane things that have nothing to do with drivetrain operation or emissions, such as the windshield washer fluid being low.

12:33 that is the car companies fault not the owners or firefighters...Cars with door locks that dont work when the battery is dead are the dumbest cars to buy and do not buy them...Also,firefighters cant study up on the 2000 new car models per year!! Owners also most likely were not told and thought it was like a normal car as it was always a safety feature you open the door by the normal handle even when locked and the door would open dead battery or not....Car companies are idiotic today! Dont buy that model of Lexus total trash! As it shows 2000 miles and it broke already! JUNK!
But it is your responsibility to read the owners manual and find out!
