And no, I am not counting Big Arms because *that is a glitch!* In Sonic 3 & Knuckles, which was originally intended to be the canon version of Sonic 3, that bug was fixed, clearly showing that Big Arms hurting Super Sonic *was not intended!* And no, I don't care if it was retconned so that the separate games are canon instead, the fact they fixed the glitch in S3&K still means that it is *not* canon that Big Arms can hurt Super Sonic because it was not the developer's intention for that to happen! As because some people mentioned that Knuckles was able to knock Sonic out of his Super Form, the reason he was able to do that is because one, Sonic was not expecting it due to being *absolutely unaware of Knuckles' existence* and was relatively inexperienced with the Emeralds, and two, Knuckles has the same, if not greater control over Chaos Energy than Sonic does, (which was demonstrated again by him stopping the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic Adventure 2), so it makes perfect sense for him to have been able to do so.
i cunsider big arms to be able to knock sonic out of super form was because of knuckles teaching eggman the way of doing it in sonic 3 and dark gaia is probs half strong as infinite or same
I think Big Arms being able to harm Super Sonic is more of a glitch, considering Super Knuckles doesn't take damage from it, and S3&K was intended to be the definitive version of S3 (plus, Big Arms doesn't directly harm Sonic, it slams him into the ground, where as this guy is launching projectiles at Sonic, and it's the projectiles that are harming him).

Sonic 1 final boss in Metallic Madness 1. Sonic 2 final boss in Green Hill 2. Sonic CD final boss as Heavy Shinobi mk 2 in Titanic Monarch 2. I don't care that it's called the Kleptomobile, imma callin'it Big Arms!
I'm are already piecing things together regarding Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. Both the Phantom Ruby and Infinite have that same sound effect when their powers are in use. Classic Sonic does the same pose in the Mania ending as he does in the first Sonic Forces Trailer. And in the Enter Infinite trailer of Sonic Forces, Tails said that "the readings were all messed up" and that "they don't make any sense." In the final boss fight of Sonic Mania, take a good look at the timer at 1:21 after the Phantom Ruby warped Sonic. The numbers didn't make sense either. The signs are too connected for things to be purely coincidental. SEGA clearly planned this. It'll be interesting to see how this will turn out.
In light of this game, it appears that infinite is somehow connected to the gem found by Eggman in Sonic Mania: Same sound similar colour scheme (In that their both primarily reddish) and the ability to travel between dimensions. So here's my the In the good ending sonic defeats the final boss which is using the gem mentioned earlier to power it's attacks. After defeating the final boss the gem creates a portal that sends both it and sonic through and at the end of the cutscene, Sonic is going through the portal and comes out making the same pose he does when he first appears in the trailer for Sonic Forces. So what if Classic Sonic (The sonic that arrived via portal) met up with Modern Sonic and the gem was found by Eggman. But that's not all, what if the reason the gem has similar powers to Infinite is because it is Infinite or rather he was sealed inside the gem like Chaos and the Master Emerald and was let out by Eggman. Then Infinite, perhaps as a way of repayment, assists Eggman in taking over which as we see in Sonic Forces, worked perfectly. That's just what I think happened at the end here
From what's occurring, and yes a battle royal. They're all after the same gem, so that's why you keep seeing the gem being switched between eggman and the machine leader.
Giao Plays Basically a new power signal is discovered by eggman on angel island and he sends the hard boiled heavies to collect it. The Phantom Ruby corrupts them but still somewhat listens to Eggman except for one, the one you see on this video. They are called Heavy King, Heavy Gunner, Heavy Shinobi, Heavy Magician and Heavy Runner.
Encountered a glitch in my playthrough where if you beat robotnik before the yellow robot, nothing happens, they both are gone and you cant do anything but run out of rings.
Gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed with this final Boss fight. It's nowhere near as iconic as the Death Egg Robot or the Doomsday Zone. They focused too much on making it about a gimmick rather than a more cinematic send off of everything you'd accomplished to stop in the game. For example, in Sonic 2 you have to take out the Death Egg, so the game ends with a final showdown inside it with its main Boss sending it crashing to earth. In Sonic 3 you have to stop Eggman from stealing the Master emerald which is what he was after the whole game, so it ends with a final chase in space to get it back. Here, while you do fight the Hard Boiled Eggies one last time and their King to get the pink gem there's no proper closure to what we did. We don't get enough context on what that gem is or what it exactly it does to raise proper stakes other than it's simply dangerous. And if this ending is supposed to tie into Forces we don't feel that we accomplished that much given that if that thing is how infinite was born we really didn't stop him. Instead, we unintentionally gave him the emeralds so he'd be more powerful or gain a physical form. Long story short: I simply didn't feel as fulfilled the same way as with the other endings in the original trilogy.
Fractorification Same. I found the fights themselves to be kinda boring, too. They're just too easy for a final boss and not as difficult or intense compared to the other games imo
yeah was hoping he would keep warping you to different final bosses throughout 2d Sonic, sort of like what he does in the non final boss with his robot minions
Despite being arguably a better game, story wise, Mania is absolute wank compared to the original classics. Makes absolutely no sense to compromise Mania's ending just because it's tied in with a game the majority of Mania/Classic fans don't even want.
I found this thing to be the absolute worst, shittiest, time wasting, frustrating last boss in a sonic game ever. a better use of my time would be pouring bleach in my eyes, and masturbating with barbwire.
When you defeat the final boss as super sonic: the game: OH! HAH! *YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OVER?* Just like that, you get the phantom ruby? THAT *EASY?* That’s funny. Welcome to the true final boss. *teleports* When you defeat true final boss: game: alright yeah you got me I got nothing else here’s the phantom ruby have a nice day sir
Phantom Ruby's power ain't explained yet but nothing suggests time travel, also this happens after Sonic 3 & Knuckles, so the only time experimentation that'd have taken place is the events of Sonic CD. However, as zones between Sonic 1, 2, cd, 3 & knuckles are all intermixed and that sonic 1, 2 & CD would be around South Island while 3 & knuckles is around Angel Island, it'd suggest that the Phantom Ruby has literally been reshaping the world.
I don't like this secret final boss, there's no easy pattern to determine how and when to hit them(especially the Phantom King), it's pure trial and error, and I couldn't beat them.
Why the fuck if you lose all of your lives you have to replay the whole previous level? Seriously, when will developers understand that forcing their players to restart the level is damn frustrating, especially when you have little time. There are better ways to punish players after losing (look at Shovel Knight for example). In any case, they should start letting people save their files whenever they want, just like in emulators, let people play the way they want.
@@DerpaTure9503 "Why do you get punished when you lose all of your lives?" I'm not saying you shouldn't get punished, I'm saying there are better ways of getting punished, like in Shovel Knight, in that game you lose money when you die but you will never be forced to stupidly replay the whole level. In this game, if you die to the boss then you have to go all the way back to the first area, why? What's the point? Where is the fun? In my opinion the concept of having lives is old, there are much better ways of punishing players. And I was complaining in general, not only towards this game. And btw, I didn't understand what you meant by "something that won't happen to literally anyone who knows what a Sonic game is"
@@DerpaTure9503 Well I think how hard a player should be punished should be up to the players themselves, you'd like to restart the whole zone? Okay then, do so, but I think the player should have the option to choose how those kind of things will work in their game file. And I know the boss is easy, I died because I got impatient. But even if it was the easiest boss in the history of videogames, I still think that forcing a player to restart a level is antiquated and frustrating in an unnecessary way.
This is definitely one of the worst 2D Super Sonic battles they ever made. You're just going around in circles like an idiot, praying to finally land a hit.
This boss fight is really cool but holy hell, getting to this fight and then game over’ing because I only had one life at this point and didn’t understand what to do and then getting sent ALL the way back to Titanic Monarch Act 1? I had to step away for a bit to collect myself from how frustrated that made me. I love this game but the lives system should have stopped being a thing in games when consoles were invented
Didn't mind the fight but just felt there should of been more to it, like having to also dodge lightning caused by the Ruby or something, or have the background change to different stage backgrounds to show that it's screwing up time, the game timer going berserk was a nice touch though
Eggman got betrayed but *didn't* lose out on true final boss status. I love that the final fight is a three-way bout between Sonic, Eggman, and Heavy King.

So here's my the
In the good ending sonic defeats the final boss which is using the gem mentioned earlier to power it's attacks.
That's just what I think happened at the end here
Normal ending: everyone lives
True ending: sonic dies
oh ok
Chilly Sonic didn't die he got teleported to Sonic Forces with the ruby
Haster The Electric Flaming Fox I know, I was joking
iFlameChylz - Games, skits and more! He might as well be dead if he's going to forces.
3:58 Look at the stone shine, look like that bug aura from infinite
even a sonic cd ending reference at the end when his head shows up in the stars and winks
I love the sound the Phantom Ruby makes
1:37 wtf did he just do to eggman? I thought he died or was teleported but he's still there during the boss fight
The only theory left is he teleported robotnic away from him to keep him from stealing the phantom ruby
0:16 I think Turn Down for What will start soon.
I think the final boss music rivals Doomsday zones.
"The Ruby must not go into the wrong hands!"
I just got done making a piano cover of this theme. This is pretty awesome! :D
3.00 This part
Man this music is incredible
I see what you did here with that Piemations reference.
Ayyy someone noticed xD
PINGAS MAN snoPING AS usual I see
What's the reference?
Look at the desc. 2nd line. Thank me later.
In the true ending sonic doesn't die instead he gets teleported to sonic forces
So did eggman's robot go against him or something?
It a battle royal
From what's occurring, and yes a battle royal. They're all after the same gem, so that's why you keep seeing the gem being switched between eggman and the machine leader.
sigmaul fire (cough cough) Heavy King (cough) (cough)
I mean hey, besides infinite....Mostly because his name is catchy, I sort of forgot his name.
sigmaul fire oh ok
Well someone beat this game pretty fast
More InBetweenGamer Goodness?! TODAY IS A GREAT DAY!
3:58 sho sho in Forces
That final boss theme sound familiar to anyone???
The AUSTINATION yep
Fist bump remix ;)
TOGETHER WE CAN SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE CAN DO
Oh my god the final boss theme is so good.
What is that special stone is Dr Eggman is holding?
it looks different than one of the seven Chaos Emeralds
Alex The Lightning dragon i think its a time stone
It's known as the Phantom Ruby via the manual.
the phantom ruby...what´s manual says more about the story of this game?
Giao Plays Basically a new power signal is discovered by eggman on angel island and he sends the hard boiled heavies to collect it. The Phantom Ruby corrupts them but still somewhat listens to Eggman except for one, the one you see on this video. They are called Heavy King, Heavy Gunner, Heavy Shinobi, Heavy Magician and Heavy Runner.
Mr Mad Mothy it's not Heavy Runner it's Heavy Rider FYI
This is a pretty cool final boss its a 1v1v1 even tought eggman and the robot dont really attack each other on the gameplay
I can't tell if Eggman and the final boss are working together or if it betrayed him and they're just both fighting sonic at once
Roosterrock The Heavy king betrayed Eggman and it turned in to an FFA fight between Sonic, Heavy King, And Eggman for the Ruby
3:53 Eggman nevers Wins in Every Sonic Games
Y bowser nunca gana en los juegos de Mario
To be Continued in Sonic Forces ;)
That is one cool invention Eggman build.
I like how when you're fighting the final boss the time is glitch out showing you're stuck between time and then sonic forces happened.
*The Music is so Cool!*
So thats how classic sonic ended up in forces
Encountered a glitch in my playthrough where if you beat robotnik before the yellow robot, nothing happens, they both are gone and you cant do anything but run out of rings.
So that is why the ruby and classic sonic is in forces
And that's why classic Sonic is in Sonic Forces.
That might be intentional, as its supposed to make players that played Mania before playing Forces think, "What have I done?!"
I found this thing to be the absolute worst, shittiest, time wasting, frustrating last boss in a sonic game ever. a better use of my time would be pouring bleach in my eyes, and masturbating with barbwire.
Anyone notice the Heavy King looks like the Shake King from Wario Land Shake It?
Video games needs more triple threath bosses like this :O
When you defeat the final boss as super sonic: the game: OH! HAH! *YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OVER?* Just like that, you get the phantom ruby? THAT *EASY?* That’s funny. Welcome to the true final boss. *teleports*
When you defeat true final boss: game: alright yeah you got me I got nothing else here’s the phantom ruby have a nice day sir
After the end of superstars I came here to see how much better this finale is...
1:30 Boss proceeds to fart before the fight just to save time
The timer is freaking out. THIS IS NOT A ZONE.
I don't like this secret final boss, there's no easy pattern to determine how and when to hit them(especially the Phantom King), it's pure trial and error, and I couldn't beat them.
Hey InBetweenGamer I have a question did a fan make your profile pic or did you make it? cause it's great!
I commissioned an artist called Thanachote-nick to draw it for me :) thanachote-nick.deviantart.com/
InbetweenGamer Thx for the info
I love this game but the lives system should have stopped being a thing in games when consoles were invented
ya know...I grew up playing the original sonic games and also grew up hating the newer ones. but this game is really good.
4:10 sound of the star of kirby easter egg?
Playing on the 3DS *InBetweenGamer uploads another video* [Turns 3ds off]
And this is how classic sonic made it into sonic forces
First time I saw this ending, I said "OH SHIT, DID-.. DID HE DIE?" But I realized that it was gonna continue in forces. Lmao
TheLoneBountyHunter This game is the continue of 3&K
Didn't mind the fight but just felt there should of been more to it, like having to also dodge lightning caused by the Ruby or something, or have the background change to different stage backgrounds to show that it's screwing up time, the game timer going berserk was a nice touch though
4:17 *But it's the Little Planet, right?*
