I kinda wish they went all out and made doll versions of everyone (Tails, Amy, Knux, etc.), but that was a neat little touch nonetheless. Attacking Sonic with teeny mecha-Knuckles doesn't quite send the same message as exploding hug-dolls resembling Sonic's female stalker. Tails dolls would be just as sadistic but not quite as funny :)

This boss is actually a combination of the Scrambled Egg Boss and the final boss from Sonic and Knuckles\Sonic 3 and Knuckles, if you don't count the secret boss for getting all the emeralds as the final boss
There's 1 reference I don't think anyone has bothered mentioning, the final boss of Titanic Monarch (the normal one), it's missile attack has 4 target symbols which are directly taken from SegaSonic the arcade game when the level map screen shows up, the same target symbol is used to display the next level!

So with Fang The Sniper, Bean the Dynamite, and Bark the Polar Bear I think this means that Sonic Mania takes place in the spin off time line. This means that after Sonic Generations, Young Robotnik made new traps for Sonic, these being the Game Gear and Spin off games. This means all those wierd games that never seemed to fit like Sonic labyrinth, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic the Fighters are all part of their own time line. Remember how weird it was seeing Sally and co in Spinball? Thats because they are the friends Sonic makes within the Game gear related time line.
I liked the video. Really shows that they've put a lot of effort in making a good history game. But you did overlook that Silver Sonic (the little one you fight in the second phase of Metal Sonic) is also a boss. Specificly from the Sonic 2 game for the master system. In any case, overlooks be overlooks. Really solid work done!
I've never played this game for 3 years ago but in 13:44 their boss are different in first release. Maybe because this boss is really hard to take on so dev want to easy things in later updates.
I know it's a year late, but I haven't seen anyone mention it. The Spider Boss in Flying Battery Act 2 is a reference to the Egg Tarantula from the Sonic Archie Comics Issue #200. The issue is notable for being Eggman's Last Stand before snapping and going ballistic. The Mania devs really pulled from all of Sonic's history for this game.

For oil ocean you included the original plus lava reef as the origin....but for stardust speedway you only included the origin from CD, even though the big firefly's attack is based on phase 2 of death egg zone's act 1 boss
Hey, the flyng battery zone act 1 boss is actually wing fortress zone, Sonic 2 boss and chemical plant act 1 boss is actually Sonic CD Tidal Tempest boss
Fun fact: The metal Sonic kai chase on Stardust Speedway is also based off the death egg robo fight in Sonic 3 where he chases you after you destroyed the fingers at his robot ,while he does that, he shoots beams at you using the master emerald(except where he uses fire nostril)
It's something I only realised playing S3&K recently that the version of Uber Catakiller you fight from the plane is essentially based on Marble Garden Act 2. The attack pattern very similar with the dipping in and out of the background too..
The Uber Caterkiller didn't really "copy". One is like Sandworm (S&K (sans up and down 3d-ish emerge move)) And the other is based on Bead Worm Boss. Which predates years ago.
@@traktor420 you're right I am. I can't remember the colour of player two on that game but the character design is virtually the shame. Especially the way the head and neck look

i still love the fact that they realized metal sonic's second phase sucked initially and they changed it to not only make it better but also add another Chaotix reference with the giant metal sonic
Hydrocity act 1 boss in sonic mania be like: UNO REVERSE
3:28 this origin also partially has an origin which is part of the Metropolis Zone act 3 boss in Sonic 2
For oil ocean you included the original plus lava reef as the origin....but for stardust speedway you only included the origin from CD, even though the big firefly's attack is based on phase 2 of death egg zone's act 1 boss
The easter eggs in Sonic Mania make the game even better.
Why is the game marked as Mario Maker 2?
I honestly don't know why or how
i have no fucking idea why and how
E dang i didnt expect to reply almost the exact same ad you i didnt even see your reply
Hey, the flyng battery zone act 1 boss is actually wing fortress zone, Sonic 2 boss and chemical plant act 1 boss is actually Sonic CD Tidal Tempest boss
And sonic 3 ice cap boss 4 chemical plant and 3 flying batterie 4 boss some bosses are a mix of past bosses:/
🤦♂️
Liar
@@bernarda1247 It's true
The big octus boss should also represent the badnik named octus
You can just walk under Death Egg Robot's legs.
*YOU CAN JUST WALK UNDER THE LEGS* !!!
And here I was thinking you'd get hurt or crushed for trying!
Fun fact: The metal Sonic kai chase on Stardust Speedway is also based off the death egg robo fight in Sonic 3 where he chases you after you destroyed the fingers at his robot ,while he does that, he shoots beams at you using the master emerald(except where he uses fire nostril)
U mix heat arms and egg man submarine and what have u got big octus
Wow u hearted my comments thank you soo much
The Big Octopus is an Oil Ocean enemy. It is just a pink octopus and Eggman uses a giant version of it on the boss battle.
The patterns and attacks of the metal sonic phase 3 boss are from the death egg robot battle in sonic & knuckles phase 2
The only one I didn't know was the catakiller one
The Knuckles version of Uber Caterkiller is shown in this video. That's the one you're taking about. Right?
Sonic cd is my favorite game, the bosses are amazing.

✝️OH NO✝️
It's something I only realised playing S3&K recently that the version of Uber Catakiller you fight from the plane is essentially based on Marble Garden Act 2. The attack pattern very similar with the dipping in and out of the background too..

*Aw would you look at that? Eggman (Or maybe Robotnik works better in this case) even placed Sonic’s controls at his correct height!*
Eggman: Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Sonic Mania is a great game but the 2 caterkiller fights are copied from mario. #1 is from Yoshi's island DS and #2 is from NSMBU
What’s The Name of The Bosses
The Uber Caterkiller didn't really "copy".
One is like Sandworm (S&K (sans up and down 3d-ish emerge move))
And the other is based on Bead Worm Boss. Which predates years ago.
The spikes and rocks falling from the drillerdroid are probably a reference to mystic cave zone in sonic the hedgehog 2
How original sega
Sonic mania wasn’t made by sega…
(I think)
@@ReverseCone-du3rcYeah it was made by Sonic fans
It wasn't made by sega
It’s called “Sonic Mania” for a reason bro
Yeah no sonic team worked on it, one of the main developers had remastered sonic 1,2 and cd in 2011 I remember
Bean the dynamite is actually from a much older game for the Master System called Dynamite Dux
No he’s not, he’s the sonic of a character firm that, but he never appeared
@@traktor420 Google it
@@jujut5221 you’re confusing bean with the blue duck character
@@traktor420 you're right I am. I can't remember the colour of player two on that game but the character design is virtually the shame. Especially the way the head and neck look
@@jujut5221 That's Bin.
I like how all bosses that dont have origins are skipped, to me they're annoying to beat.
I refuse to believe the fact people go into the Death Egg Robot fight fearless and beat it in literally a whole minute.
No first
JB Awesome Videos achal nearly 10 people came at the same time sooooooooooo
I don't know if it's been said already, but the boss in Oil Ocean Act 1 is similar in design to Mushroom Hill Act 1' boss in Sonic & Knuckles, while Metallic Madness Act 2's boss' mini eggmen may come from Metropolis Zone's boss in 2.
Ayo I thought this was ALL bosses origins, not MOST bosses origins!
I just find it funny that some of the older final bosses get reduced to just a normal boss
