Great video. And, you did it without a motorized desk -- kudos! I like your butcher block top. I want one of those also but can't find it at Lowe's or Home Depot. ... working with your Father on the shelf is the greatest. Showing his seasoned hands working on the wood is the best part of the B-roll for me. You see, I'm 63 now and I still have the first set of tool sockets my Father gave me as a young teen working on my first car, 1966 Mustang. My dad has transitioned now, so enjoy these times together. God bless and stay safe. Peace.
Your Dad has some really great tools and the piece of Walnut is beautiful. I bet he was happy to be involved in your project! Great build and setup. Kudos!
Thanks for posting this! I've been eyeing that butcher block, but seeing how European Walnut looks next to the American Black Walnut in your video helped me make a decision.
While watching this video I immediately look over to my blank buckland blue wall to my left and envisioned something similar. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the setup dude. Also for anyone like me who sat here listening to that piece of music at 9:00 thinking it reminded me of something, it's Yeah yeah yeah's Sacrilege.
I did a desk build recently with a walnut veneered plywood and used the same Arm R Seal Satin. Turned out great! But I didn't realize until after I started that it takes about 24 hours to dry, but the final coat takes 30 DAYS to fully cure. As long as you're not putting anything heavy on the top, it's fine, but it can deform the finish if it's too heavy.
I am obsessed with that desk shelf. I want one just like it so bad but I don't know any one who knows how to do that. It's beautiful and much nicer than that popular/expensive one all the other UA-camrs are always plugging in their videos. Great job with this!
Building a desk and will attempt to replicate his desk shelf. He linked the base material and will take a trip to Lowes and see what I can come up with.
I know this video is over a year old, but I still love the style and look of your setup, here. I have watched the latest one, but I still like this minimalist style. I just bought the wood to make my new desk. I also just bought the MX Keys and the MX Master 3S. Before that, I upgraded my monitor (from dual 24" to a single curved ultrawide 32"). I have the monitor mounted on the wall, but I still need to run the cables in the wall. I'll wait on that until I get the new desk built since it will be out of the way and I can get to that wall much easier. I'm also mounting my USB hub and a couple other things to the underside of the desk, similar to what you did. The desk I'm building will have cable management built into it, too. I hate seeing cables, so I made sure to add that to the design.
Very cool. I love thsi big piece of wood on the wall... and that you used the possibility to build your custom-made desk shelf. All in all (for me) VERY cool looking.
Love the whole wood + metal industrial look you went for with the table and shelves. The royal blue paint on the walls with the white trim is really nice too.
Thanks for posting the links to everything, those Ikea Alex drawers were the final piece I was looking for to finish my new 6ft desk build. Really appreciate it man.
Hi Lee! What's the name of the furniture that you show at the minute 2:26? I was searching it for a while since I saw it in another video from a youtuber, where did you buy it and how is it called? It will really helps, thank you and great video!
It's IKEA FJÄLLBO TV unit. I also saw it in a video a couple years ago and had to get it. I think Austin Evans has a few too. I love the piece. Here's a link to it: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/fjaellbo-tv-unit-black-90339290/
Great Video 👏 Too close to sceens, wider desk would be my preference but if your happy, cool. Think folks undervalue desk width = more real estate is better for eye strain & space to store stuff.
high density Leds are the only way to truly avoid hot spots as I understand it. Look into it, they are a huge improvement, especially if one is sensitive to hot spots.
I personally still really like it. I'm not someone that knows a ton about what makes a desk chair perfect though, so I'm sure there are other great options out there as well. My only complaint has been that where you rest your arms, they aren't locked in place. I believe it's like that because your arms are constantly moving around. But it would be nice if the chair has a feature to lock them
Only thing i would say is to move your SD card reader back a few inches to prevent snapping your SD cards! Accidents happen! Great video love the setup.
Your best bet may be to either check to see if you have any local lumber suppliers or check eBay. I think big chains also have options, like Home Depot, but they are way too pricy in my opinion
This video was done so professionally and then I see you only have 92 subscribers? That is crazy! Your channel is going to grow so much. Definitely going to take some ideas from your desk setup!
Looks awesome! I built my desk from the same Butcher block last year. I also bought some govee lights but never installed them cause I'm lazy. The diffused channel is a great idea. I might do that on mine now
I've gotten that question a lot, but I'm pretty comfortable sitting at it. That said, I've been considering testing out a standing desk legs to see what's the best height for how I work
so cool! Pro tip, I have a similar set up (W/ Ikea Alex drawers) and I drilled into the back of the bottom drawer on each side and use that for all my power and cable management :)
nice to see someone who isn't just trying to market and sell really expensive cheap shit to you through a whole video you build everything like I do awesome dude!
Thank you so much you gave me a lot of ideas for my setup but i think u left out the double sided tape from cable management im jus saying that because i was trying to find it for me.
Let's take a moment to appreciate awesome Dads. Dad is always clutch in these kinds of situations.

That wood on the wall with the rgb lighting! Amazing

The One and Only Lee. Note the time and date. This is the beginning of a great UA-cam channel.
My favourite part of this actually is the huge wooden slab on the wall! Just sick!
Super slick setup! I'm about to change up my studio and this vid was fun to help build inspiration!
The transformation beetween before and after is crazy very good job
A sick desk is a sign of a clean mind.
What amazes me watchjng these videos is how you guys keep everything spotless clean. How you stop dust build up clean 3 times a day 😅😅😅
Lol don’t the camera fool you. I just came back from a 10 day trip and saw the back of my tv. Not pretty 😂
Thanks for posting this! I've been eyeing that butcher block, but seeing how European Walnut looks next to the American Black Walnut in your video helped me make a decision.
the first 10 seconds was just pure flex for the young kids who dream of a setup like this.....
While watching this video I immediately look over to my blank buckland blue wall to my left and envisioned something similar. Thanks for the inspiration!
I legit just built one so similar. No IKEA by me so just got some nice legs. Also made my desk shelf. I the legs for that are just what I had in Mind!
That all looks awesome. Your dad's workshop looked pretty bloody awesome too!

huge, insane respect for hand made solutions, man.
I like the thought and execution of the walnut shelf, top notch. Setup looks great!
Awesome setup man ! Clearly love it 🔥
I can’t believe this is exactly what I’ve been looking for
That man old setup is my new upgrade in 2021

The entire video was great, the transitions were so clean and I found your voice so calming. You earned a sub.
love seeing small creators on my reccomended. you're gonna grow huge, I'm calling it
This is unreal! Just throw some lighting on the shelves behind you for your talking head shots and its mucho perfecto 👌
Loved the length of desk and how easy it was to make.
That piece of wood on the wall is grand
So u actually built your desk!!! pretty neat!
Just finished building my desk set up! The process of sanding and painting my desk was so therapeutic!
Dude the best freaking set up ever... thanks you...
Very cool. I love thsi big piece of wood on the wall... and that you used the possibility to build your custom-made desk shelf. All in all (for me) VERY cool looking.
Brilliant Setup
Brilliant Video ( very comforting to eyes )
Good job mate..
Hi mate, IMO that much effort and time invested in DIY project deserves a 'Custom Mechanical Keyboard' man :)
Love the whole wood + metal industrial look you went for with the table and shelves. The royal blue paint on the walls with the white trim is really nice too.
what is that wood thing on the wall at 0:09? is that a sound proof thing? If so, what is it called and where can i get one?
OFF THE SCALE !!!!! Chapeaux sir
Outstanding job man!!! And thanks for all the link's!!!!!
I LOVE that custom desk shelf! Great craftsmanship!
Thanks for posting the links to everything, those Ikea Alex drawers were the final piece I was looking for to finish my new 6ft desk build. Really appreciate it man.
I’d love to see or hear more about the shelves you have in there. Goes really well with the desk and i need some room Decor to spice up my setup!
Thank you! I should’ve mentioned it at some point. It was a set I got off Amazon a couple years ago: amzn.to/3tWTTip
Literally building your own setup 🔥🔥
You’re an artist and you have a talent for design. Great job!
Bro, your production quality is insane.. Good stuff!

Brilliantly done

@@LeeLechner Thanks man. Yea it's nice piece!
How do you like your chair? I heard mixed feeling on plastic feel. I love the design also need one that doesn’t numb my leg from back surgery

Man, you just started and your videos are already looking great! I cannot wait see your next video :)
Nicely done. I love your setup and gear. The live wood mantle on your wall is brilliant and really brought it all home.
Solid. I’m gonna dupe this and also add a rear view mirror in case I need to quickly X any tabs
Great video! What are the dimensions for the desk shelf?
This is the most satisfying video I’ve ever seen!
the wooden wall decor idea was genius :D
Awesome video Lee! i like the pipe shelves and desk.
Only thing i would say is to move your SD card reader back a few inches to prevent snapping your SD cards! Accidents happen! Great video love the setup.
Solid point!
This is a dope setup Lee! Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm doing a setup like what you have with some changes, that shelf is awesome. You have an idea where I can find a piece of walnut like that?
Your best bet may be to either check to see if you have any local lumber suppliers or check eBay. I think big chains also have options, like Home Depot, but they are way too pricy in my opinion
this is one of the best set up I ever seen
This video gave me a ton of ideas.
Superb! I’m looking at doing my home office up soon and this is inspirational!
Hell of a video man! Can't wait to see more of your stuff
I could copy this over to my set up and love it. Might have been cool to leave the live edge of walnut on your monitor stand.
Very impressive! That decoration tough you did with the wood was 👌
Smart move with the custom desk shelf. Great desk set up and thank you for sharing!
What a kick-ass office man!
This video was done so professionally and then I see you only have 92 subscribers? That is crazy! Your channel is going to grow so much. Definitely going to take some ideas from your desk setup!

Great video man. It’s very well put together. Keep up the great work!
Such an awesome video! You earned yourself another subscriber! Love the setup.
Desk and setup look great. Question, is it not a bit short at 27.5" for those Alex drawers to sit under?
I've gotten that question a lot, but I'm pretty comfortable sitting at it. That said, I've been considering testing out a standing desk legs to see what's the best height for how I work
This video is insane, congrats bro, u get a new sub
Sick setup and excellent video; well done. I can see your channel exploding. Keep bringing such quality and helpful videos.
This setup is clean as hell

What kind / size wood was used for the top part of the desk? Maybe I'm not locating it in the drop down.
The desk's top is 8ft Walnut Butcher Block (I got it from Home Depot)
