Helpful tip: When you want clean and straight edges use masking tape as you do, paint on top of the tape with the color there is below the tape (white). When it is dry you can paint with the new color and just paint on the tape it self. When you have painted the last time remove the tape while it is still wet. Then you will have a very clean edge 😊 I have done that multiple times and I also frame my wall, to remove some of the imperfections of the wall/house
This is the real pro tip here! This is how professionals do it and it gives you razor sharp edges. The downside is, you have to paint all of the walls to get consistent base color (white for example)
@@kurtlamprecht93 🤣🤣🤣 yes they do. I don’t believe pros. can do a perfectly line all the way over a wall or from floor to ceiling. I agree they don’t use tape when painting around doors or ceilings, but there they also have a line to follow. If you have texture on a wall it is even harder to paint a perfect straight line 😊
@@NqrgaardI've never seen a painter use tape, it doesn't have to be perfect, You'd never notice unless you're looking for it. Also another tip is to not just roll small areas like they did. You go up and down full length of the wall, keep a wet edge then go back and feather the paint.
I've been waiting for family to come to my apartment and redo my living room. It would be such a dream to have a set up just like this. But when you're on a limited income it makes it extremely hard to get components like this for a desk. Great Job. Really love it.
Very interesting. I'm one of those who think that reforming workspaces has to do not only with a matter of practicality or efficiency, but also with productivity, inspiration, personality, and even encouragement. For people with less experience, this can be quite difficult, but it's always advisable to start with the furniture. The chair and desk are key. Last year, I bought a new, super ergonomic HON chair, and two months ago my wife added a Barcelona Designs Protractor Desk to our small home office. We still have things to change, but we are on the right path. Nice makeover! ;)
The New York poster (which is actually not a poster, as it's printed on a metal + wood surface) is beautiful. I went with an identical one after having done a makeover of my own office/gaming room 😊
Pro-tip. When filling holes, never leave it above the surface of the wall. Use a filling blade (not filling knife). They are flat pieces of metal with no handle. Dampen area with damp rag. Scrape material in hole from multiple directions going outwards towards edges. Don't aim to get perfect at all - ensure you scrape all excess off. Its ok that still some of hole there. When dry, gently sand a couple of times to take surface debris off. Repeat process. Repeat about 3-4 times. It will then be completely invisible.
I've watched a handful of our videos recently, and I just had to pause during the intro of his one to write this comment. Your videos are superb. Your quality of office makeovers is unmatched, as well as the video quality and editing itself. You have my subscription. I'm not the kind of person to go out and buy all of the latest tech, but I absolutely search high and low for the best product offerings to keep for a while. The recommendations I have been given through your videos alone have helped me so much already in getting my home office set up in a totally reimagined way. Keep up the quality work, my friend!
As someone who knows a lot of painters. Lots of paint on the rollers. 😊 paint the masking tape with the other wall colour. Then you don’t have to repaint and you get crisp lines between two colours.
Just one thing you should note, you drilled into a main vapour barrier wall make sure you are careful not to puncture it as it can cause a lot of issues later on down the road
Not sure if it's more expensive, but there are round continuous light panels that are flat. The softbox is quite deep, so it'll take up a lot of space up there in the corner.
After having watched a few of your makeover videos, I can't stop laughing at how you put softboxes in every single one of them. Makes his bedroom look like he holds photo shoots in there 😂
Here is a tip for those that read. Cut before you roll. Translation: Get a 3in angled brush and paint the edges where corners meet, where ceiling meets wall, where outlets are, where windows meet wall. Paint out about 5 inches. Then when you are done cutting, go in with the roller to do the wall and blend over the last few inches of brush lines. 2nd... dont be lazy. Unscrew hardware and outlet covers on the wall before painting. And while one did pop up eventually in the video, get an extension pole for your cage. Its silly to paint by holding the cage unless you literally dont have the space behind you to use a pole. Also try to use a roller with a 1/2 nap in most cases and up and down in one direction with long rolls. Painting shouldnt look like you are trying to clean a really dirty spot on the wall with a rag. Thank you.
Andres Vidoza ,your are the reason I started to try and set up my office space from scratch, have 2 boys and adopted a little girl, so like any real man I gave up my dreams and transformed my office into her new bedroom so she can grow up and have hers, one day ill get there , watching these videos are a great help and guide , keep doing what you do.... 🦾

@@andresvidoza question, I have a 98 inch ikea counter top and wanted suggestions from you regarding lifting legs, like what brand it better and which one is right to stabilize a 98 inch top
The overall video was good, but it seems like every other setup on UA-cam. Karlby countertop, Alex drawers, Logitech peripherals, and Grovemade stuff. It would be great to do a consult with the client and really figure out what they like and personalize everything to them. I believe Armando does this in his setup makeovers.
A2+ speakers can actually have two audio sources at one time playing through. I use them plugged into my Mac Studio and a Custom PC. You can independently control the audio mix via each machine independently and use the A2+ as the master. Worked out perfectly.
OMG the video was such a blast. You are my favourite UA-camr and this is "one of my favourite video" appreciate the great effort you put into this video and make it a bit funny too. Hope to see More of these videos soon enough 😊

Great video man! I actually just graduated from coding dojo last week lol been Watching your videos for a long time now so crazy to see they sponsored a video!
Very clean and well done! I recommend people stop using or buying desks/desk tops with a depth under 30 inches. I can hardly believe how close people sit to their (often quite large) monitors.
I use the full size MX Keys as there is a lot of fast typing and muscle memory used when coding so a irregular keyboard layout is not recommended. I used to use a Razor Huntsman and found the mechanical keys made me perform a lot of typos due to the extra key travel distance, the scissor switches have been a lot better. The MX range also isnt great for its function key placement, these are used a lot in programming and having these dual function or cramped is also not ideal but manageable.
For my setup from a couple years ago I went with a Rode PodCaster Pro mic on a Rode boom paired with an M-Audio interface (which has a nice hi res ADC and an extra input for plugging in another mic or audio source); I used a 43” 4K LG has my main screen (which has 4 HDMI, can power my laptop thru USB-C and can do PiP and split screen all 4 inputs simultaneously); mounted everything on arms, including the laptop and the audio interface too. Now thinking I might swap out the interface for an SSL 2+ instead and/or looking at things like the Roland Bridgecast or Yamaha AG08; also looking at how I might be able to add a LoupeDeck CT to make more things convenient (I have a lot of music gear too so a lot of these things serve double duty ;-)
at the end you can see that you raised the desk and now your arms arent aligned ergonomically with the desk. Just put the desk right onto the Alex drawers
I hope he keeps it clean 😭
