I found the trick with the router is to cut in stages. I made the mistake of trying to cut the full depth in all at once and found that the battery powered trim router just couldn’t cope. So I started in stages routing a little at a time. Each time making the cut deeper until finally I got through to the final depth desired.
such a sweet idea with the magnetic doors for pat's magnets display!!! love the colour for the eket but i might be biased since i literally painted my hallway in a very similar if not the same tone lol the shelves are gonna be like a little sun above pat's head 🌞(too bad we didn't get to see his reaction ;c) i liked the format of this video a lot! it's nice to see you talk, makes it a bit more connecting/engaging in a way :)

i LOVE magnetic paint. i once used it on my bedroom door to pin up my concert ticket stubs and flyers. i 100% plan to steal that edging idea for the drawers to make some faux slatted wall accents 😁

Really nice makeover! But I would highly advise to sand and prime your ikea furniture before painting to make sure your paint sticks and doesn't get ruined easily :)

I really like the yellow color on the wall cabinets. I don’t want to ruin the fun, but shouldn’t you sand down the surface with sandpaper and use some adhesion primer to make the paint stick properly? Is it still holding up? Inspiring video, great job! I quess what i write above dont matter. What matters is doing something special for your loved ones. Thats whats matter in the end.

thank you! I had to cut 30mm in total so I did 10mm each time, but I think that was still way too much 😵💫 Have to be more patient next time

A lot of paints in Germany are made for laminate furniture (because of how common it is) so minimal to no sanding required 🤗

Not chalk paint but we do have that too! This type of paint is called called "Lack" 🤔

It was about 150€ for 200x80cm (so hard to find a desktop that's >60cm wide here!), which I think was worth every cent!!!
