Thanks mate :) ! And yeah, it's awesome how using your own voice can be a great sound effects tool, very fun too ^^ oh, I've just realized you have a cool devlog/game dev channel, need to check that out :D
@@Blackthornprod Yeah gonna have to try this out! I've been using a bit of Audacity myself, but haven't really made any sound effects in it. and cheers man haha!
SFXR is also a really good option, usually for retro games. It's a sound generator, so it can make sounds without having to record your voice. Sometimes, it works better, especially if the noise is, say, a simple impact sound. It's not perfect, but it's pretty cool too.
Thanks so much :) ! I hope to open up the merch store in 3/4 weeks :) ! Quite busy with my game project : The Dreadful Whispers and UA-cam. But the BTP store will open up soon enough :) !
I know this comment may be a little bit outdated, but I just need to write this comment... Wow! At first, I wanted to make sound effects for my game by simply playing the sounds of instruments and I absolutely didn't think to use audiacity to record my voice and edit it! Thank you! It makes me have more fun with it :D
Very helpful! At first I noticed there are free sound effects online, but I'm afraid to use any just in case of copyright.. I'm glad to see I can make my own for my games.

Thank u as always Noa :D Could someone give me an advice? I have done 2 courses on udemy (one on spanish 'cause i'm from Argentina) and the other one in english (the developer 2d from ben and rick) Now, it's better for me to keep doing courses or to start prototyping mini games? Thx for the help :) and keep it on (i'm gonna do your course too, but for now i'm doing courses between 25-35 hours) PD: in case it's better to keep with the courses, which one should i do now?
Thanks so much for the tutorial. I want to use Audacity for my game, but I'm worried that it may mess up my sound chip. Has that part of Audacity been fixed?
Hey! İ have a question. What if our microphone is not good enough and records a bit weird and we don't have money to buy a good one. Can we do something ?
how about sound mixer and the fact that you can play a limited number of sounds at once (10 to 12), i think this tutorials should focus on unity and the works around for sound in unity.
I'm looking to make some weapon sfx like gunshot, reload and such. But somewhere between 8 bit and real life sfx. So they sound a bit cartoony for a pixel art game. Any ideas Anyone?
Cool tutorial, it's really cool how many interesting sounds you can make using just your voice and Audacity!

I realized that I use the same technique! Well, good to know I`m not alone!
nice job.
Imagine using ` instead of ' lmao
Love it! You should be having all the effects made by you. It would give a neat vibe to your game. :)
"aaah!" does sound like a death sound!
the death of my ear drums...
Yeah! This is awesome because I use audacity but I'm still learning what it can do. Thanks for making this!
Bro ive seen lots of your videos and I started realizing your art style looks a lot like Little Inferno, which is a very nostalgic game to me.
