If the USA and here in Canada are forced to go EV (we also have stupid politicians here as well) the only winner will be China with cheap throw away cars. It will be the end of the auto industry at least here in North America.
I don't think you thought this out. EV mandates force US auto to compete with China. China is currently crushing US auto exports and US auto exports had their worst year since COVID because nobody wants ICE vehicles and US EVs are garbage in comparison with China. Global adoption of Chinese EVs is rising every year. Just go to Mexico to find Chinese EVs that will soon be coming here. The only countries that want ICE vehicles have ICE automakers or oil exports. EVERY country that doesn't have those are quickly moving to electric because it reduces their reliance on oil imports. US automakers finally woke up and figured this out. If they don't aggressively move to EVs they will go bankrupt. Republican misinformation and pandering to uneducated members of its base is killing US legacy auto. Nissan is the first to fail. 0% of electricity in the UK is generated from coal. Gas accounts for between 5% and 50%, depending on conditions. But even if it was all generated from coal or gas, concentrating those emissions into one place makes it easier to mitigate them. Plus, the CO2 emissions that EVs would be responsible for are far lower than ICE vehicles - and ICE vehicles emit other pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and particulates.

Why indeed? Fortunately, that is not what happens. The batteries are guaranteed for 8 years or more, so if you did need to replace it then you would have a claim under that guarantee. In practice, they are lasting much longer than that - probably longer in many cases than the car itself will last.

What? How do you come to that conclusion? Electric cars are about 95% efficient or more - ICE cars about 25 to 28% efficient. An electric car that is not moving is not using energy.
@@steveknight878 Yes the electric motor has a thermal efficiency of 90-95% I agree. But the problem is with the battery (self-discharge at the battery) and the thermal management system. The battery is only happy between 15C and 30C. This is an example in Arizona it gets really hot in summer then the thermal management system has to do work continually. This means that the battery will be empty soon when just parked there. The old Nissan Leafs did not have a thermal system and therefore the batteries did not last long. I have an older laptop and done the test myself it discharges at 2% in 8 hours what is 5% in a day, what is an equivalent of 1 1/2 tank of petrol a month. No Mather that electricity is much cheaper than petrol. this is wasting energy! And if you do not drive a lot, it is better to buy a small car like a Suzuki swift. And the older the batteries get the less happy they are. I actually think that the newer cars have more like a thermal efficiency of closer to 35% for Gas and more than 40% for Diesel. But 40% less efficient does not mean 40% dirtier. the old coal plants are actually 3 or 4 times more dirty than the new gas powerplants. The problem with Diesel is the Nox emissions otherwise it would be even more efficient.
You should look into how many ICE vehicles catch fire. Of the EVs that have caught fire, many were plugged in using homeowner installed equipment that didn't respect the amount of electricity that an EV pulls. It isn't like a clothes dryer that runs for an hour and might pull a full load. EVs charge at peak energy pull for hours. Not an install that a novice should handle. Hire a professional or risk burning your house down.
@trstrean i drove a vintage vw most of my adult life. Proper maintenance prevents these kind of fires. I still wouldn't park an ev in my garage of any type. Gasoline fire can be quickly extinguished. Lithium not so much.
@@marksample6230 stats show that gas vehicles catch fire more than 25-30% more frequently than EVs. While that is overall situations and not just in garages, the numbers are similar in terms of how more often gas vehicles catch fire in garages. Feel free to look it up. Given how often gas vehicles catch fire, one would assume you wouldn't store a gas vehicle either. While neither of us may have ever had a vehicle catch fire, it doesn't change how often it happens. Also, unlike gas, new technologies continue to reduce the potential of the issue and now most batteries include fire suppression technology. One of the Chinese brands have all but eliminated the possibility of ever having a battery catch fire. Between sodium and aluminum batteries, even lithium batteries might eventually be a thing of the past. They want EV's because they have stock in them, starting with GORE!
Attention!!!! Unfortunately, all petrol cars will soon be banned in the EU and the USA! In France there is a new law prohibiting combustion engine cars called SCHLABOUBVE and in Switzerland the HESCHLAVVO law! In the Scandinavian countries there will soon be a so-called SMORVERBIDEN law) for Germany there will probably be a federal exhaust gas ban ordinance BABVVO and TEBBVO from 2027. In California the CARB just banned all gas cars!!!
No, Worst case scenario, sales of gasoline only cars would be banned, not existing cars. Having said that it’s never going to happen.
no way under Trump and then Vance administrations would such a stupid thing happen in the USA. If California wants to drown in their own effluence that's fine, that state is circling the drain.
Long live the piston engine hoorah
The day the government drives the electric cars and trucks i mean congress, senate, house of representatives, atf, fbi, cia just maybe i would think of getting one
If I wanted an EV, I would get one.
Well this electric vehicle mandate being pushed upon us by these politicians doesn't affect me what's the weather I'm just ignoring them because I just cannot afford one and also to that these new electric vehicles have lots of mechanical bugs and issues until they're completely taken out and corrected maybe within 10 years I might think about buying one.
FJB!
Because they [EVs] are perfect controlling devices. You say or do something against the gov. they remotely shut your car off.
HE CAN NOT DO THAT.
NOBODY WILL BUY THAT💩 😂🤣😅
I would not buy one period
Only 15 more days!
He’s trying to make his legacy even worse.
Thank God the democrats lost ! So tired of being told what to buy, what to say, what to eat, take my guns, what appliances can be in my house, the list is endless
Not a good idea... battery at one point need to be replaced and they are very costy
I would bet the Government is the largest employer who buys EV's.
Get rid of DPF
let people repair their car
Make cars to last
Aftermarket parts suck really hard. Fix that.
Maybe Joe should take a look at dealers lots filled with unsold (“unwanted”) EV’s. All this will accomplish is bankrupt car builders and dealership closures.
Actually, it is mostly ICE cars that fill parking lots and are unsold.
@ as a percentage EV’s far outnumber unsold ICE vehicles but yes there’s plenty of those as well. The fact there are so many is another example of Biden’s failed policies.
The rental companies are trying to dump their EV fleets and Tesla sales declined for 2024, the charade is over.
@@RWZiggy And in China? And Norway? and several other countries? EV sales are up, petrol and Diesel are down.
MONEY!
I don’t care if EVs are $10k. Not a bit interested
Listen very carefully..
PEOPLE DO NOT WANT EV’S!!!!
Don’t understand that? Then read that sentence again, and keep reading it until you do understand it!
But that sentence is wrong.
@@steveknight878 The sentence is correct, most people, 82%, don't want EV. says AAA. Used to be 77% but that number is rising by the year as people see the lies
EV only a pile of BS
