This video didn't make me hate my current desk it just made me hate corsair for charging $1800 for what I could buy as individual parts for $700 and have more ability to customise than this desk.
Separate monitor arms would have been cool for actual creator desks so the monitors could swung out and away from the middle so that you have a work station to do work at.
They do have a single monitor arm extension but their website is absolutely dire, so there's one picture and it's completely impossible to tell how you use it. It looks like it connects to their dual monitor arm clamp, and err... that is not for sale, but shows up in their accessories and if you buy the dual monitor arms, you have filled it up. Very strange design. More importantly to me, their monitor arms may not be as good as my existing ones or ones I'd want. So what I really want is to be able to mount my own monitor arm on their rail. Otherwise the whole back section is essentially useless - if I have to mount the monitor arm to the desk, I might as well attach an external pegboard. Atm the Secretlab Magnus looks better for my own use case (though this certainly has different options which might be better for others).
@@jonevansauthor Tech Source also did a build and the monitor arm could BARELY support his 45" OLED LG Ultragear (which is the same monitor I have). If the rail allowed support from other, more sturdy arms, then I think it' be worth it. But as it is, you're not putting anything bigger a 32" monitor on that thing and its an immediate No from me and likely plenty of others. Not to mention, for what it is, it seems grossly overpriced compared to custom built IKEA options, or even other pre-builts like the Secretlabs Magnus like you mentioned.
@@DefendedPlains One thing to note is that the Magnus supports LESS weight for each monitor arm. I personally think both options from Corsair or Secret Lab don't have enough customizability built in for who their target audience is.
@@DefendedPlains yeah that confirms these monitor arms are just plain bad. My LG Dualup's arm is really good and while I wouldn't mind lifting the mount off the desk, being able to support the monitor I have is pretty important. If I'm buying third party, I want that arm to last my more than one monitor and be able to handle different weights.
That's a pretty steep price for an adjustable height desk. The design is nice, but you can spend less or the same and get more elsewhere. I mean, last year I bought a 90 in. by 60 in. L desk and it came to 1400CAD with taxes if memory serves. Still, neat features, so credit where it's due!
My 60x24" Flexispot E7 Pro was $450. It's not quite as large, but for less than half the cost of their fixed version I don't see why anyone would go the Corsair route.
I'd agree, I picked up the Secretlab Magnus Pro they mentioned at the end a month or so ago and that (with a monitor arm, desk pad and the PC tower mount) was $400 less than the basic adjustable Corsair version without the pegboards.
Thats a STEEP brand tax. But I do really like the fact that the desk is made with cable management in mind. And the rail system would really come in handy with my current attempts to mount a camera.

I wish I could build stuff with Sarah.
Sarah and Dennis are the duo I never knew I needed.
I’m ok with my desk though
At least watch the video first lol
@@premprakash2297You can tell at a glance that’s one of those expensive tech stuff, like those motorized lift desks. It’s pretty nice, if you have $1800 lying around 🤷♂️
I had a desk this wide before. I would totally want the desk feet to be closer together (so if the desk is 180, feet should be 140 or less apart).
A) looks better
B) can hang something under the desk outside the frame (even a PC)
Hello Dennis & Sarah
I watched this from beginning to end just because it was Dennis and Sarah!
*THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!*
I paid about $100 for my desk. It’s 100% stainless steel and will likely be around for the rest of my life. 😎
Came for the tech review. Stayed for the host chemistry and banter. I think these 2 are my favorite LMG Co-Hosts.
I built my own desk for less than $200 and its super heavy duty and looks better
people pay for convenience.
