Hey there! I invested in better lighting (which I'm still experimenting with) and tried something new with that little pedalboard. Do you think that this is helpful and should be continued? :)
This was illuminating...Its once you see a tool song properly played you realise you had been playing it with half of it missing... Now listening to the song will be like listening in High definition... You are a revealation sir... Hats off
Man these videos are seriously helping me fill in some of the blanks I've had with certain techniques and phrasings that Jones uses. Really impressive stuff, thanks so much!
Man these on screen tabs alongside the playing help so much. I've always been terrible at reading music by eye, now I can nail all those palm mutes PERFECTLY. I've got this song note perfect now. Thanks heaps man
Whenever I need to figure out the proper way to play a Tool song, you're the first place I go. You pick up on the little things and weird little tweaks Adam puts in between the lines and your tabs are easy to read. I've been playing Tool songs since the 90's (mostly from ear and generally poorly) and I've never really felt like my version of H sounded right. I'm sure no on ever really noticed, but it's always felt like I was missing something. You filled in some of the holes in the 2nd verse. I also love how you don't try to explain HOW to do it. Putting the pedals up on the video super useful. My flanger levels need to be a little different than what you've got up there, but it's a great place to start. Thanks for all the hard work.
. Literally every part of the song is perfect, bass, guitar, drums, vocals . You brought it in a truly amazing way. This song isn't underrated, it's the best Tool song for me. With Aenema being the best album ,Tool peaked when I peaked. Ergo, Tool is life, it follows the pattern of our life. You evolve, peak, evolve more, become more sophisticated but will never reach the level you once had.
Hey! I think that you are doing a fantastic job with the videos. I agree with everything I have seen for your tabs. You clearly have great ears and really pay attention to the details. I made several adjustments to the way I play H. now because I have seen your videos, and it absolutely flows and stays together with much more energy. Thanks for being a beast!!
Damn dude, i thought axeofcreation lesson was great but that was like album quailty. Really good and i like the professional presentation of the tab bar
@MaxNiessl ohhh for sure! You both are great! Room for both of you for sure! Just saying, your content is good too brother! Makes me want to get back into playing
So good man, one of my top 3 TooL songs and you nailed it! I can play bits and pieces but I’d say it’s the most technical song Adam played in the earlier years, well that I’ve attempted to learn anyways. Keep up the good work
amazing as always, and just in time! i've almost climbed 7empest, so i needed something new to get crazy at.... thank you! hoping for aenema or ticks & leeches next or..... th salival version of pushit
This video is so helpful, thank you! I'm a beginner player and learning this song through is my current "ultimate" goal (while learning other simpler songs on the side). I love it so much.
Really appreciate the vids. I have been using the wrong dely time since the early 2000’s. I see now. I was always playing this at 317ms. Its great to have such a resource at hand to learn new things. Cheers man!
Those bends after the solo. 👁..gets me every time. Adam sound is awesome and you come so close. Great cover! I've seen different types to play the second verse so was very amusing to check your version. Also I have a suggestion. Would be nice to see more Mastodon on the channel. Something from 2017 EP Cold Dark Plase since there're little/or no covers from it. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your support, Jared! I'm perfectly happy with everything as it is. Getting 6k views for an almost 25 year old song within roughly a day is insane on its own :D
Love your covers, watch them all even in school, learned invincible by them, thanks for your videos, hi from Russia, srry for my ENG, if there is mistake)

For suggestions, I would love to see a video for Ænima, The Pot, Undertow, Lateralus, or Sober. I know its a lot but hopefully it helps narrow your next choice down a little bit XD
Awesome cover! You have his tone nailed down! I’ve learned Pneuma, 7empest, and Invincible from your videos. Looking forward to learning this song. Would appreciate Wings for Marie and 10,000 days cover. Love the work you’re putting in!!
I think at around 5:07 (during the kickass breakdown that I can never seem to get right), it looks and sounds like you're repeating the fast slide from the 10-12 back to the 12-14 before the tab shows it come up in the next measure. (Edit: looks like maybe there should be a ghost note 10-12 or something in the measure 129 tab).
Id like to thank you for this cover with tabs since i've been asking for it a couple of times and it finally is here! Its one of my favs by Tool so i took some time to find out how to play it and the "vicarious" lick at the beginning i think may be played differently by Adam, i feel like all the notes are picked, but maybe im playing notes from the delay too but it just sounds too good not to try it. So what is different is that i play higher open D instead of low open D, 7th fret higher D instead of your X, then i pick 5 on G before the 5h7p5 and after that u notated just 7th fret on D but i also play 5th fret G string after it. Its like just a half of the lick explained, sorry for taking your time if u red that and you dont care, but if u wanna try it i would love to hear an opinion :) And if u wanna try it my way i can also tell you how i think the second part of the lick may be played :) Stay healthy, and have a nice day!
Hey Feno, I always care! :) It's actually funny, because I was wondering how to notate it. On the record I'm very sure that Adam doesn't play the the G string afterwards, it's just the remnant of the delay. Live though he plays it on some bars. There are not many live videos unfortunately :/ The X that I inserted is actually on the 7th fret, you can only see that in Guitar Pro, though. It's very tempting to play the G string and if it wasn't for an accurate cover I play it like you do anyway :) Thanks for your comment 🤘
Good job! I think H is one of the few songs that Adam uses the neck pickup for most of the song. I think he may use his equalizer pedal to make the neck almost sound like the bridge. 🤘
@@TheN8w I can’t speak for how Cameron does it. I’ve tried using both pickups and it is easier to use only the neck. It’s more difficult to try to blend the pickups together than it is to use an eq that Adam uses frequently for his effects. Thanks.
Pet it gently.. :)
Haha username checks out! Purrfect 🐈
Max Niessl Thank u Sir! Beast of a cover by the way! -t-

Hey there! I invested in better lighting (which I'm still experimenting with) and tried something new with that little pedalboard. Do you think that this is helpful and should be continued? :)
The lighting is great and the pedalboard would help a lot with figuring out what to use. Thanks!
I love the added pedalboard!
Looks good!
Max Niessl yes, the detail with the effects is excellent. That really helps!
I love !
Not gonna lie... a few of these riffs look and sound like vicarious
Between H., vicarious and descending they’re all played in the same box
An underrated TOOL song. Incredible cover again.

Ok I like the updates you’re going with
What's coming through is alive
What's holding up is a mirror
But what's singing songs is a snake, it is
Looking to turn my piss to wine
They're both totally void of hate
And killing me just the same
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again
Considerately
Venomous voice, tempts me
And drains me, bleeds me
Leaves me cracked and empty
Drags me down like some sweet gravity
The snake behind me hisses
What my damage could have been
My blood before me begs me
Open up my heart again
And I feel this coming over like a storm again, now
And I feel this coming over like a storm again, now
I am too connected to you
To slip away, to fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
Considerately killing me
Considerately killing me
Considerately killing me
Without the skin, here beneath the storm
Under these tears, now
The walls came down
Once the snake is drowned and
As I look in his eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of those times
I could have cried then
I should have cried then
As the walls come down and
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
And will die
It's all right
I don't mind
I don't mind
I don't mind
I am too connected to you
To slip away and fade away
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me
And considerately killing me
Considerately killing me, yeah
Considerately killing me
