Hey you need to add 1/4 round under your cabinet to help hold down the flooring and I would also add a trim board to the bottom to make it look more finished good job guys
1000% agree.
Came here to say this. Looks great!!!
You need to have a more finished look to the cabinets. You are getting great suggestions.
Absolutely this
Your toe kick board will help also
Josh..rent a big floor sander from Lowe’s/HDepot and do it yourself. We did many floors in our house when we built it! It’s easy & VERY CHEAP!! We did everything ourselves, or we couldn’t have the house we wanted. My hubby is an electrician and learned plumbing by working on low income rental houses starting when he was 14 yrs old. He learned drywall, masonry, painting, etc too. We had a Co. brick our home (22,000 bricks..😳) and we did the rest. It’s a huge house!! What kind of countertops did you get for your kitchen? They look very nice you guys!! 🤗 Great vids and a great job on your flip. I’m super proud of you both!! 😁
Those get dust everywhere and it becomes a huge task cleaning the walls and ceilings after you’re done.
Dissolve Cascade dishwasher powder in warm water and soak the Vera Bradley bag for a few hours or overnight. That is how we get all of our stains out.
I can't believe how confident Hayley is these days. You show em girl 😊❤
For the piece against the cabinet, you need to add a kick plate to the bottom of the cabinets and that will hold the flooring down. If a kick plate is not thick enough, add a quarter round trim piece.😊 The kick plate hides the ugly transitions of the cabinets. Gives a great finished look.
3:02 dude was so confused in the background hahaha
I come to the comments just to see if anyone else was talking about that guy just standing there staring. I was cracking up. 😂
little lag :D
2:47 under armour hoodie guy is creepin haha the lady next to him even noticed him staring.
Between him and the lady beside him.yep 😂 looking at what he buys for sure❤❤❤
Bins by day - hot tubs by night; nuff said...
Best comment hands down!
Josh... never glue or nail down that style floor. It's called a floating floor and will "float" or move with expansion and contraction. If you permanently fasten it down, you will get buckling in the floor. The same will happen if you did not leave space around the perimeter for expansion.
Yes I’m aware. But I’ve also seen people deal with small filler pieces by adhering them to the floor.
Hey Josh, usually you install a kick plate (trim) at bottom on cabinets. It’s usually made of pressed wood. Once that is in your flooring would be held down by it, usually don’t use adhesive because that type of flooring moves a bit
Use the same flooring and do a toe kick under the cabinet, protects it and looks good and will hold your flappy bendy piece down.
The cabinets have an unfinished kick plate. So you're going to need to put baseboard down there anyways, so do not glue it because it is a floating floor made to expand and contract. and in areas where you don't want baseboard, use quarter round
Absolutely no glue or nails. Quarter round is how it would be done professionally. You never want to nail or glue a floating floor it will pucker and heave if you do.
I love how much Haley has grown and progressed in finding good items to sell. Love you both
Forgive me if I spelled her name wrong lol
@@austinguerrero8754 :) Yes, you did. It should read Hayley. Don't feel to bad because you aren't the first to have done so. Regardless of how her name is spelled, she always has that cute smile in the next video. A misspelled name doesn't seem to keep her from getting so excited over some great find. THANK YOU Hayley for being you. Please don't ever change. We all love you!

Flip house is so beautiful! You’ve upgraded everything to make it gorgeous but not over the top. If i remember right it’s going to be a rental. As a lifelong renter i can confidently say it would be an amazing place to live. Well done!😊
The kitchen is looking really nice - it's going to be lovely once finished 🥰
Put a kick plate at the bottom of the cabinets and then a piece of quarter round molding and it will keep the floor down and also have a finished look.
For the flooring under the cabinets. Try quarter round.
Quarter round will hold that piece down and allow your flooring to expand and contract. Nail the quarter round to the toe board under the cabinet not the flooring.
The guy staring at you and then the lady looking at him while you're showing the vitamix was priceless.
You can refinish your floors, just rent a drum sander and start with a heavy grit work your way down! It’s really not hard and it’s very rewarding
Here at the canton, Ohio goodwill outlet they started a best bins program where they charge three dollars a turn to get into a roped area to be the first to look at the items…there are 10 turns a day…only the top 12 get into the area while the rest are out of luck…it’s a pilot program and we are the first to implement it and it’s coming everyone’s way…goodwill looking to profit from resellers who do this for a living…the anger is incredible…
So, Goodwill is making an extra $30.00 a day from this fee? It seems to me that they will lose much more than $30.00/day in sales by alienating many customers who then may not come to shop at all.
"shoes are back on the menu boys"
orcish roars :DD
Hi Josh and Hayley, you can EASILY refinish hardwood floors yourself. Seriously, if you can run a lawnmower you can run a floor sander. I had zero experience, rented one from Home Depot, followed the directions they gave me, and did it myself. Then we put a couple of clear coats of lacquer on using a sponge mop. It was amazing how beautiful the floors were under decades of wear and tear. We even repaired a hole by taking a couple of boards out and toenailing new boards back in.
Loving how the kitchen is looking! Hayley has done a great paint job, loving the green!
I’m not sure I would refinish the wooden floors for a rental!
Pretty sure we are just going to sell it
@@HairyTornado and buy/flip another? 😁
You can see the gaps where the cabinets meet and the unfinished wood as well. Just a 1/4 round alone won’t cover that. Pick up some flat, plain trim boards and run it along the face to cover that and the gaps to hold your flooring down.
Hi Josh. Great video. Sorry you won't being doing UA-cam anymore... (April fools) 🤔😆😉
The house looks great 😊. Good finds at the bins, good job Hayley on the WhatNot show. God bless stay safe until the next video 💓 😍
For the floor you can buy a wooden floor cleaner and the high glass finish product from Lowe's or home Depot.
Skip finishing the hardwoods. If it’s going to be a rental, run the LVP thru out. May be more expensive initially but will hold up better in a long run. Plus the uniformity looks better.
Disagree! Hardwood is much more durable than vinyl in my experience.
Watch some videos on refinishing hardwood. Rent the machine from Lowe’s and do it yourself. Y’all can do it!
Great finds at the bins on this video Josh & Hayley! I'll have to wait to see your Whatnot for some of those items. I also love the color of the cabinets and the countertop is great - even some green flecks in there. what I don't understand is how (at this writing) over 3,300 people have watched this and only 550 have taken the time to click the like button. Come on people, takes a fraction of a second to do that!!!
Yes, to the quarter round to hold that piece of flooring down. HEY JOSH, about refinishing the hardwood floors. We rehabbed a house that had its original hardwood floors. We had them refinished and they turned out great. The issue was, we had it done last and the dust from the sanding was all over everything including the walls. I had to dust everything and used a Swiffer Duster dry to do all of the walls.
YES! thats the issue with just renting a sander from home depot. The company we're talking to apparently has "dustless" sanders that would significantly cut down on any dust produced by the process. Another reason we are leaning towards using them.
@@HairyTornado A suggestion from my experience: drape plastic sheeting over cabinets beforehand, dustless or not. Saves a lot of effort in clean up.
Love, Love your videos that’s my hobby these days 😂
Hey Josh/Hayley just wanted to say i’m a huge fan of the channel and everything you guys do. Thanks for the awesome content and keep up the good work!
You can put a piece of quarter round or shoe molding on the toe kick under your cabinets to hold the last piece of flooring down...nail it to the toe kick not to the floor so your floor still floats...
Hello Josh, as for the flooring, here is my suggestion. Glue down that flooring piece and the use a base board along the cabinets and that will help it stay positioned correctly.
You have a much better bins than I do. Maybe I just go at bad times, I usually go around noon-2pm on random days here and there. Most of the time I leave with a handful of stuff at most. I am a little particular with what I want. Mostly electronics and video game stuff if I’m lucky.
The house is looking great!
Wow, kitchen looks beautiful, love the sparkles in the countertop! Good job on painting Hayley👍💕💕
Hayley and Josh!!! Thanks for taking us along ! I appreciate you both so much! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Backsplash behind to stove - easy clean for grease splatter when frying.
The house is looking awesome, great job!
Glue the flooring edge then add a strip of trim on top against the footing of the cabinet.
Love ❤ your color choice on the cabinets!
Love this channel! Can’t get enough.
Love the green cabinets!
Thank you for putting your next three whatnot shows. I usually watch your videos a few days late and miss your shows every time. I already missing 4/2 & 4/3 show but I will definitely catch today’s show.
Like the progress at the flip house. Looking good. At your house, straighten up your garage. Put up hooks, hangers, shelves. Get it off the floor.
The hard work you guys put in is really commendable. Love your videos and seeing how the house is coming along. Great job 💯👍
Once you install a toe kick under the cabinets, it will hold that piece of wood in place. Putting some glue on the back of it right before will help😊
I would add a toe kick cover in the same color as the cabinets. It would look more finished. Then caulk around the bottom for a moisture barrier.
Loved this video so much!! Lots of content and information. House is rounding the corner. Beautiful.
My husband has been doing flooring for over 30 years. Says…Starting at one end of that board working your way down the board. Take a small pry bar push down and pry the cut piece into and towards the existing floor. Click in and push it down. You should feel it click into place. Once it’s clicked it will stay in place. Then add your toe kick. You don’t have to add 1/4 round.
You guys are doing a great job on the house.
Hey brotha. Love you guys and your doing an awesome job. I wish I lived close to you because if I did I would help you free of charge. I use to build custom cabinets and I love working with wood. I would put a 2 1/2 - 3" baseboard mold down, all around the flooring in all the rooms.
Wow! Very impressive job on the kitchen! Love the green! 🌞
1/4 round for the base will work. Love the color of the cabinets and countertop. Excellent video!
Love your choices in the kitchen! Love your channel. I always learn something new. Time to sign up for Whatnot, since I have my eye on that Vera Bradley teacher tote😉
I love the color you guys chose for the cabinets.
Kitchen looks awesome, you guys did a great job
Congrats Dean the handyman. Josh we have quarter round around the bottom of our cabinets to hold the floor in place. Great job on the kitchen it looks awesome 🤩
Thanks guys and the house is starting to look like a house now great job 👍🇦🇺🦘
Kitchen looks great. Thanks for the update!
Put a a piece of Quarter inch trim on it and use little brad nails to nail it in place. It will add a little nice piece of trim and hold that part of the floor down.
Hi kids. I've been with you guys since the start of house flip. It looks super duper amazing. The floor refinishing cost seems a little high but I'm in Ohio so that could be the reason. Anyway congrats
The kitchen looks AMAZING guys!!!!!!!!!! I love it!
Great video josh and Hayley , some really good finds and the kitchen is coming along nicely 😊😊xx❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏠🏠🏠
How exciting to see all of this ALMOST finished!
Another interesting & fun video. Thanks.
The two of you are so lovely. Has anyone ever asked you for a somewhat biographical segment? It would be nice to hear where you came from, and your goals.
The kick plate for the cabinet should hold it in place when you install it. That looks like a floating floor so you probably don’t want to nail or glue it.
Someone also mentioned shoe molding or quarter round as an option as well.
Cabinets and countertops look fantastic the colors are very complementary of one another.
You know I will be waiting for the Kavu. LOL. Great haul!
Just paid a plumber to install faucet, garbage disposal & dishwasher - he charged us $650. It sounded steep, but we were happy to get it done and over with.
We had ours done today. Dishwasher, faucet, garbage disposal, and he finished off the shower drain in the main bathroom for $400. Best money I’ve spent all month. And he went to the store and bought everything he needed, saving me a trip,
@@HairyTornado Wow! We didn’t bat eye an eyelash because the first plumber we talked to didn’t bother showing up. I’m excited that y’all are fixin’ to cross that finish line. We’re cheering you on. 👏
The face plate/ baseboard on bottoms of the front of cabinets will hold down flooring. Floors are supposed to float, so don't nail down
Wow this has been a long road with this house glad to see the progress and it looks amazing 🇦🇺👍
Looks awesome!!
The kitchen looks GREAT!!!
A peace of quarter round molding under the cabinet to hold the floor down that is what I would do.
You can use some clear silicone in spots to adhere those end pieces in place.
Get some quarter round, paint it to match cabinets and nailgun it in.
the house is coming right along.... looks great
I have that flashlight from Costco and it's amazing!
I don’t read any other comments so sorry if it’s a duplicate. I wouldn’t put a garbage disposal in, especially as a rental. When my husband was getting ready to rent his old house out in NC he was actually told to remove the one he had. Just an extra expense and less of a headache 🙂
Wait I am confused- don't all kitchen sinks need a garbage disposal in case food goes down the drain?
Oh!!!! I have the exact same countertops (mine are quartz). But they have the same little sparkle. I have mine matched with white and navy blue cabinets; love the look with the green as well! You guys have done a TON of work on that house. Can't wait to see it fully finished! Tell Dean, he needs to create some franchises! I'm sure a TON of people would happily hire him!
He’s got more work than he can handle! That’s what happens when you show up on time, do good work and charge fair prices.
Loved seeing your What not auctions on here. In Australia, need more as live doesn’t work.
We got that exact same countertop for our new kitchen, it looks awesome :D
Hey Josh, you need some kind of baseboard/kickplate to cover the bottom of the cabinets. That will hold that end piece of flooring down.
1st comment! Like and Subscribe! -- Seriously, this couple is a great team.
Another excellent video.
usually you use the kickboard at the base of the cabinets over that board to seal it down or a piece of trim
Thanks for your time and video😊
Kitchen is looking great. House is really coming together. 😊
Love the video. HOPE YOU HAD A WONDETFUL EASTER😎👊🙏PEACE AND GOD BLRSS.
You guys have done great on the flip house ❤ beautiful kitchen
The house is starting to look amazing
Also you need to correct the direction of the fridge doors so they open towards the stove and sink 😅
A warm hairdryer will straighten the butterfly’s wings on that bag Hayley found.
Put a corner round along the edge of the floor or liquid nail. 😊
Awesome job guys
Congrats on the house! And Costco pizza for the win!
You did a great job 😊
