I can't believe spent about 45 minutes looking for an answer to if gypsum plaster is warm like gypsum board (because of watching Kirk's plastering videos), later in the day watch this and BAM, there is the answer: gypsum plaster is cool to the touch.
Just bet the home I grew up in had gypsum plaster, no horsehair, bright white, and smooth. Built in 1942, with wire lathe rather than wood.

Howdy, my friend no doubt, it had a structo-lite base coat and a lime finish. As Lime finishes are bright white.💃

Thanks Kirk for satisfying a curiosity.
Only once a deep hole was made, my sister hadn't changed out of her soccer cleats and her and dad started playing rough and she accidently back kicked the wall. How come know expanded diamond wire mesh. All can say is the base coat was sandy.
Phoenix area got rain yesterday evening and this morning, today be a good day for plaster or stucco. ;)

Can you use the gypsum board in the bathroom with veneer plaster or the green board with veneer plaster?

Hello Jenny, yes you can use lime plaster on any sheetrock, just apply Quikrete bonding agent on first, A bottle cost ten bucks at any HD or lowes store, In fact, you can buy this bonding agent at almost all hardware store. Remember the word Veneer. only means a thin coat, you are applying a lime plaster.🥂

Kirk, do you think a plaster of paris and sand mix would be a good substitute for a veneer base coat? Some of these supplies are hard to find in Minnesota.

I wouldn't. Plaster of paris sets fast and is meant for things like casting molds

@@micuzzu I looked it up on the material data sheet. It literally is just plaster of paris and sand. There is a little bit of clay in the mix too.

Evening Juan Medina, I don't understand your question. what is vinil?
Are you referring to veneer plaster? If so why not?
