Excellent playing and a beautiful sounding guitar. The best demo of this guitar that I've seen so far. You truly make it sing and show it's quality and capabilities. Going to buy one soon. What a wonderful guitar. Thanks for posting this.
I got one! Totally worth than the small sum it costs. It has some tone none of my other 13 guitars have and its bad ass. All thanks to this great review.
You play very soul full, that's cool Yo. I have the same one it's red. But I like your music type. Its something I can jam out to on the drums. Reminds me like old 50's or something
It sounds like it. I used to have a white Dot Studio and the stock pickups are actually very decent for Epiphone. They're Alnico magnets and they can deal with blues/jazzy stuff and equally deal with a good bit of crunch.
Great guitars for the money, I have one that I upgraded with a Stew-mac Golden Age in the neck and Seymour Duncan Detonator in the bridge w/coil tap on both pickups. It's killer now. They sound great stocked too, I just wanted a fatter sound.
I have one fitted with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90's, a top wrapped bridge, and locking tuners set up by the best tech in the area. Best money I've ever spent on a guitar.
If anyone as a dot with the covers, take them off! They add a ton of eddy currents to the tone. Really brightens them up a lot. Also consider changing out the hookup lead, as for some reason, Epiphone uses high capacitance wire that also adds a lot of mud. 20 mins and you got a great sounding instrument. :)
Wouldn't sell my worn brown for 10x price paid, seriously. Came with a few set up and qc issues (jack nut loose). Some like to change to higher output pkups, but I've found it looses a lot of character. I think the designers knew what they were doing - pkup output matched with body resonance, etc. also considering construction costs.
Very good playing, Lots going on in you. Bravo. I have an early " Tomato" dot studio. With a proper set-up, it plays really well. The ceramic pickups lend it the edge, bring the rock. The tuning stays in tune. I have other guitars as well, and, I keep my DS in the mix. It has Gibson scale, which I like. Baseball bat neck. Everything works as it should. I think that if I had this (cheap) guitar when I was 16, how lucky i would be!
i bought an epi dot for my son. it's cheap but great. i also bought an epi lp. the dot sounds a lot better, very open, it's a good guitar. and i own a jc-120. but you sound a ot better than i do. you're a great player. great review!
Nice demo, you've got the best sound that I've heard out of most of the demo's on this guitar. I have one that I've modified to get a warmer sound but the stock ones are very nice too. Actually I would like to get another one and keep it stocked.
AMAZING demo!! Way better than the 4 ive done! I have 2 DOT Studios and I love em. They're completely stock. Love your playing and your bit of Eric Johnson influence :) Excellent tone as well!
NICE PLAYING!!! THATS VERY GOOD GUITAR AND YOU ARE A VERY GOOD GUITARIST!!! MAYBE AFTER THIS BRILLIANT VIDEO... I WILL BUY EPIPHONE DOT STUDIO AT THE SAME LOVELY COLOUR AS YOU...
Came back to this review again after some time and it just is the business. Such great playing and a breadth of sounds. Instantly made want one and tomorrow migh be a NGD or a huge let down.
I had been thinking about a Dot..then I saw this vid. I found a used studio just like this. I like it a lot but it dosent sound like yours. Just fantastic playing.
I about to buy my first ever electric guitar... and I'm between a LP100 VS and Dot Studio CH,... help needed.. pros and cons... I like rock in general, but also this blues/jazz improvisation... thanks in advance...
Excellent playing, tasty tone, sir!!! What were you using for the lead tone, besides delay? Sounded amazing! Put some money down on a Dot Studio in worn cherry today, can't wait to go pick her up next week.
Bravo , j'adore votre jeux , et j'adore cette guitare, je recherche une demi caisse , car c'est ce qui manque dans ma collection de guitare , je trouve que les Epiphone DOT et autre ES semble de très bon rapport qualité /prix .... Thank's for the vidéos ! :)
Hi Brian. I have a question for you. Please tell me which pedals were engaged starting at 4:30? Sounds amazing. I'll buy those too. Doesn't sound like a solid state amp at all. I know you have the xotic ep booster. Do you recommend it for a JC-120 use? Would be really helpful if you could answer these questions. Thank you.
was gonna get an SG special but gonna get one of these now because i would rather spend the extra money on something which looks nicer and sounds better.
Hey, great guitar and great playing! I really like it! I have an Epiphone Dot 335, not the studio model. Your guitar sounds sweet. Have you ever tried the Dot 335? Are the pickups different? Can anyone let me know? Thanks.
I have one, the pickups sound like shit and it's buzzes like crazy. When I raise the action enough to get rid of the buzzing, it's too hard/uncomfortable to play.
Name brands need to hire you for demos. This should set the standard for youtube review demos.
very kind, thanks Lyle!
Great guitar
Great player
A big round of applause for the Roland jazz chorus!
Great demo.
The best demo video I've ever seen on UA-cam is this video right here.
the best epiphone dot studio demo, makes me value mine that much more,.. now if only i could just sound as good :)..
Excellent playing and a beautiful sounding guitar. The best demo of this guitar that I've seen so far. You truly make it sing and show it's quality and capabilities. Going to buy one soon. What a wonderful guitar. Thanks for posting this.
Absolutely unreal playing. Loved every second of it.
I think it's funny that it is a "Dot" studio...with no dots!! haha.
I posted my on Face Book Epiphone Lovers. They said opposite because mine has dot on the fretboard.
The dots are on side of the neck..
Such a good guitar for the price. One of the best things I have ever purchased!
I got one! Totally worth than the small sum it costs. It has some tone none of my other 13 guitars have and its bad ass. All thanks to this great review.
I have this guitar and I love it. Great blues and jazz guitar. Heavy on the bass end which is a nice change from my Stratocaster.
Great chops!! I love my Epiphone Dot Studio.
Excellent playing and demo! Makes me appreciate my black epi with cream binding😀.
i really like the way you play. keep it up brother
Your playing is really the feature here.
Also Jazz Chorus amp and this guitar seem a brilliant combo. Love the control knobs being as theses are.
Thanks David !
Sounds so great for that kinda price range! Looks better than the regular one too I think. The black hardware looks awesome
Cheers bud..nice sound and hats off to your skills.nice.
There toward the end, you were channeling Eric Johnson! Well done!
I just bought a red one yesterday after testing it out in the local music store. It was surprisingly good considered the low price.
Great playing, sir. You really get some sweet tones out of that Epi. Thank you.
You play very soul full, that's cool Yo. I have the same one it's red. But I like your music type. Its something I can jam out to on the drums. Reminds me like old 50's or something
Awesome sound and playing ! !!!!!!

I have one of these guitars and it is amazing.
Good review - thank you considering buying one.😊
man.. that’s amazing in every way possible, great !
Yah man! Great playing and all the relevant info.
Great guitars for the money, I have one that I upgraded with a Stew-mac Golden Age in the neck and Seymour Duncan Detonator in the bridge w/coil tap on both pickups. It's killer now. They sound great stocked too, I just wanted a fatter sound.
Made a mistake on my comment with the Duncan pickup. It's an Invader, not Detonator. Great demo!
Great playing and nice tones. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Jerry
@@sances2007 good demo mate
Great playing, great tones. Love my Dot Studio, but added decal dots.
Thanks for demo

Fantastic demo, thanks. Wish I could play half as good as you.
Great playing, you really helped in my decision to buy one. Thanks

I just picked one up second hand... this guitar is a steal.
Wow. Awesome chops buddy. I wish I could play my Dot half as well as you do.

Darn fine playing. Pickup up one of these in white tonight. Hope it sounds as good as this one.
That thing sounds amazing
Nice demo, you've got the best sound that I've heard out of most of the demo's on this guitar. I have one that I've modified to get a warmer sound but the stock ones are very nice too. Actually I would like to get another one and keep it stocked.
Good job on this demo. For both the Roland JC 120 & The Epiphone Dot.
Lovely playing ,lovely style,brilliant!!
Sounds great. Fun fact, the worn finish of this Dot studio looks way better than the gross finish of a Sheraton II that make it looks cheap.
AMAZING demo!! Way better than the 4 ive done! I have 2 DOT Studios and I love em. They're completely stock. Love your playing and your bit of Eric Johnson influence :) Excellent tone as well!

There ya go!! An awesome picker with an inexpensive guitar making it sound like $$$$$$!!
Fantastic playing man. You make that Dot sing.
She's a beauty.
Dude , thinking about buying one of these bad boys , great playing man! Thanks for this :-)
welp....this seals it. getting one soon.
Good sound
I had been thinking about a Dot..then I saw this vid. I found a used studio just like this. I like it a lot but it dosent sound like yours. Just fantastic playing.

I own one. good value for money. This thing rocks !!!!
Nice clean tone bro!!!
You look cold, dude, where are you?
This one looks and sounds like an Ibanez AS53 without dots and bindings.
Great playing! Killer tone.
Thank you mate!
Nice playing dude ! 😁
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great tone!!!!
I bought one of these bad boys , cheers for this example , can't play like that though!!
you sir, are awesome.
Sounds fantastic! Beautiful guitar.
Also, you are one great guitar player!
Are those the stock pickups?
Thanks ! I’m not certain if they were, I don’t think so
Killer chops. Very tasty. Thank you. Proves the point: In the proper hands, almost any decent guitar can be made to sing.
I also own one of these - really do dig it.
Rick Richbourg Got mine five days ago, haven't been able to put it down ever since. It's got a gloss cherry finish, and it howls beautifully.
fabulous!
I'll get it!
I knew I could hear the Tube Screamer in there somewhere 😄
Great playing!!!!
Very nice tone, witch amp are you using? Very nice guitar indeed.
I bought the same but in cherry red cause of your video and I didn’t regret it awsome guitar for the price
Great video!
You look really cold
blues machine baby
Hey this seems to have a pretty jazzy tone for 300$. Nice playing man.
muito bom!
parabens!
I love this guitar! My question is that how is it different to Epiphone Supernova, Casino, ES-335, ES-339?
salut, t'es trop fort!!! bon la gratte aussi...
Excellent playing, tasty tone, sir!!! What were you using for the lead tone, besides delay? Sounded amazing!
Put some money down on a Dot Studio in worn cherry today, can't wait to go pick her up next week.
I believe it was a ts808 and ts9 , both vintage
Bravo , j'adore votre jeux , et j'adore cette guitare, je recherche une demi caisse , car c'est ce qui manque dans ma collection de guitare , je trouve que les Epiphone DOT et autre ES semble de très bon rapport qualité /prix .... Thank's for the vidéos ! :)
(j'hésite encore avec les modèle AS 153 d'Ibanez) ^^
Merci, mon ami!
That guitar sounds really good....Or it's just your playing. Might have to get one.
Wow
Hi Brian.
I have a question for you.

Would be really helpful if you could answer these questions. Thank you.
Great tone and playing - did you replace the nut and bridge -it sounds great
was gonna get an SG special but gonna get one of these now because i would rather spend the extra money on something which looks nicer and sounds better.

Bert
idk about cherry gloss but i have a cherry dot studio aha
Lucky you ;-)
Rock on my friend !
Are they the original pick ups in it what year your dot studio
I forgot to ask, what color is that? Thanks..
Hey, great guitar and great playing! I really like it! I have an Epiphone Dot 335, not the studio model. Your guitar sounds sweet. Have you ever tried the Dot 335? Are the pickups different? Can anyone let me know? Thanks.
Angel Martinez I believe the 335 has different pickups, these are cheap open style epiphone humbuckers.
The 335 is higher end than the studio
I have one, the pickups sound like shit and it's buzzes like crazy. When I raise the action enough to get rid of the buzzing, it's too hard/uncomfortable to play.
What strings do you use? Great video man :)
10 gauge d’addario
