Epiphone 335 and their semi hollows are all fantastic guitars. The ES-335 pro was my first hollow body before I got a Gibson ES-355. I learned so much from that epiphone and it played beautifully. Definitely more than a “beginner” guitar. They are solid, gig worthy guitars.
I love my epi dot studio, it's just sounds so much more open and clear compared to a full blown 335, I play heavy rock with mine and its a huge sounding weapon.
I bought this used just because it was cheaper than other semi hollows. Turned out to be surprisingly good. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan 59 and Jazz, this cost more than the guitar. The result was amazing. Way better guitars come and go over the years and I am still keeping my Dot Studio.
This was my second guitar when I was a kid. Someone fell on it and the neck snapped. It was repaired and then Gifted. I want this guitar again, even if its a budget guitar. Kudos, such a beautiful guitar.
Hey Bradlee - do you mind suggesting pickups for the upgrade? Seems like it could be a smart way to get into 335 land for less than a third the price. Thanks!
@@eastbaystreet1242 I've been extremely satisfied with my GuitarHeads Alnico supreme. They're PAF-ish and very reasonably priced. They can also be wired to have split coils.
I have that exact model and finish, great playing and versatile. Got mine (headstock was busted off) from a friend as payment for setting up and restoring his Kramer. I used Titebond and some sanding to blend it with a little red pencil and wow plays ilke a new guitar. Thanks for this demo!
I love my Epiphone Les Paul standard. I had a cherry red Epiphone SG too. They make great guitars. I don't care for the Epiphone bolt on neck guitars though. They make great $300-600 guitars.
I have that model of that guitar of course I have many high-end guitars as well. This Epiphone dot of mine Studio is a Great playing and great sounding guitar. My other guitar playing friends can't believe it when, I put it in their hands and the way it sounds. the kicker is, I bought mine used for $159 at Guitar Center. Did a fret level clean up the pots. Its a bargin.
Those are very pretty guitars. I am not fond of the neck shape however, I prefer the slimmer neck. It also is in serious need of a pickup upgrade. I don't know maybe my pickups are just duds
I have a dot studio where as the headstock has broken off twice in situations where I feel it really should not have, after tight bonding head stock back on for the second time, plays much better
Dig it...Guitars in all price rages and all levels of playing... Players beginner or Pro, Mild to Wild, for Lil Timmy or Joe Bonamassa..they got it at ALL at Norm's...and don't forget.. All major credit cards accepted...Norm's!
I have a 2016 Epihone dot studio and the corpus materiaI is mapIe ! Its figured, red cherrry, Iike a 2500 Eur Gibson, changed the tunders to Grover and its an awsome kickass guitar, since I had to seII my expensive Gibson ES 335 in 2014. Has unbeIievabIe sustain, too. Is not buiIt or in stock anymore. The phiIosophy has changed to "Inspired" , and Epiphone does not wiII to waste materiaI for bargain guitars anymore. Gruesse aus DeutschIand excuse for bad engIish.
I got one of these in a trade. This has a nice neck , I like the satin finish. The tone is exceptable. I assume this is the best $300.00 335 you can buy. So If you cant afford the Gibson then that is what epiphone is all about.
I have one of these...gave it to my brother...this video reminded me of why...tinny bridge tone, muddy, no definition middle and neck tones...weird looking headstock...yep...good riddance.
Worn Cherry has got to be on of my top 5 finishes ever
This segment is quickly becoming a close second-favorite on this channel. Great playing.

Was it Stacked Actors by Foo Fighters? Also one of my favourites!
You got it!
This definitely has to be one of the more affordable choices I’ve seen from this series! Nice playing :-)
Such a great guitar awesome sound!

LOVE my worn brown Dot Studio! Upgrade the pickups, and it's AWESOME for jazz, blues, rock, worship, funk, soul, gospel,....

Awesome! One of my favorite guitars is my 2012 cherry red Dot Studio. It’s a really great guitar. It’s sitting right next to me now, in fact!
I just got one for £150 and I love it, needs a re-string though
I've still got dot studio. It was my first electric. Super fun guitar.
I had one in brown. Wasn’t disappointed.
I got mine today it's a 2010 with a Sunburst finish

I've always wondered about this guitar. Great demo, thanks guy's

I own the 2008 Dot in satin black and it's still in the original box it came in.
It soynds impressive

Well played
Just bought a vintage sunburst Epiphone Dot from fleaBay with a case. I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Living vicariously through others ATM.
Nice playing...cool guitar!
Great video! I've had one of these guitars since 2010, and I recommend getting one. It's a very smooth playing guitar, great for slackers like me.
Agreed - nice playing.
Nice playing!!!
I have one of these in dolphin gray. Great, inexpensive guitar. Put locking tuners on it.
Yes I recently was able to snag a DG color, it instantly became my favorite guitar lol
😮😮😮
I can only see the 3-pickups Firebird in the background I'm really sorry
You didn’t listen and missed all the heavenly glory
I have a dot studio where as the headstock has broken off twice in situations where I feel it really should not have, after tight bonding head stock back on for the second time, plays much better
Holy shit. This is actually affordable.
Awesome episode of norms. Because alot of us can't afford the price of alot of the guitars featured on here.
So wait it’s an epiphone dot ....without the dots ???
Cool observation😅
My buddy calls it my Dot-less.

Well played and a good guitar at a good price. Somebody should snag it and wait for it to increase in value when you make it big!

Man i'm trying to find one but no one seems to be selling these in Belgium.. Found one on ebay from USA but it's 200+ for the shipment 😑
I have one i did the same thing put heavy strings it comes alive
I have this, wish my skills were as good as yours though!
i believe hes playing stacked actors
Sounds nice

How heavy is it ?
Endlich mal jemand, der auch unverzerrt kann! -- Mit Verzerrerr davor klingen doch alle Gitarren gleich.
Stacked actors
Nice choice . I'm a Sheraton man.You should give it to a kid.
tom delongeeeeeee 🤘🏻😂
He plays an ES-333 technically
Look out Lemmo. Soriano's in town..and the kid can play!
What’s the name of the Wes Montgomery song he played?
I'm hella late but Far Wes by Wes Montgomery
I used to have one of these, in worn walnut... Sold it to pay the bills, honestly I don’t miss it... the worn finish felt “off” to me.
The doors
Stacked Actors by Foo Fighters
very nice .. the body seems smaller than a 335 more like a 339 and the simplicity of one volume and one tone is a plus ..
IIRC these were $299 new? Why every single one I have seen is over that price used, is beyond me. There's one on reverb for $575, lmao!!!!!
One cost $199 when I bought it in 2007
Damn im 4th early gang
Second
Stacked actors?
I want a new guitar😔😔😔😔😔
What's the deal? WOP's can't find a job or consistent gigs? lol
Long Live Mark!
But does it cause cancer?
He will regret selling it.
Going to let the guitar do the talking, eh?
I have one of these...gave it to my brother...this video reminded me of why...tinny bridge tone, muddy, no definition middle and neck tones...weird looking headstock...yep...good riddance.
GUITAR CENTER SUCKS
Norms rare guitars only likes you if you're famous or rich. They all ignore you the whole time and just act disgusted when you make eye contact
Demo doesn't count unless you play some growling power chords...👮🙅♂️
Demo doesnt count if its not lemmo
Ghiman the guy I quickly click off the demo the second he engages the looper
No way clean one is the best
Shit
I had one of these, didn't like it, soulless thing
Fk I found that really boring
Epiphone just isnt good enough I would sell it also
I've got one. Horrible guitar. Many issues.
players in masks, im done
Lol good by kiss, slipknot, bucket head, gwar, pussyriot, the aquabats,
Byeeeeeee, buttwipe!
You will be with an attitude like that towards masks!
@@boss123400 this is merica... everybody has the right to be a dumb ass and one person can ruin your life
Richard went and got his panties in an bunch over a mask. LOL!
