We live in Western Pa. and Have around 100 Acres of Land, About 1/2 is ours the rest is my moms, We have 4 kids and two grandchildren, 3 Golden Retrievers and one Cat. We enjoy working on our property and making improvements. We sell firewood and soon will be selling hardwood lumber.

Really late commenting, saw your post on my TV. It figures, Melissa and Eva had a bit of my luck w the kayak. Don't give up, try again. My kids love kayaking in lake Hickory, Lake Norman and all up and down the Catawba River. My boys do a lot of fishing from their kayaks. Just make sure you get a kayak w a shaped bottom, not flat. This was a very sweet video, I loved it. Ya'lls channel is just getting better and better, incredible! I understand it will be a while, but I can't wait to see the property ready enough to bring Hunter down. Levi's family can drive their new Jeep down now, how great is this! lm ready, let's go! Mike, you and Melissa could just put a still image of daughter, Eva, on the screen and let it run for 15 minutes. She has the most radiant smile! I recall during my days as a middle school Principal when one of the 7th grade students had this amazing smile. I told her that, when she dropped by the office and left a smile for me, it was like the sunrise on a cloudy day! So, many were the days that sweet girl would just stick her head through the office door just "to leave a smile for Dr. A!" Man, that was great. I still stay in touch with her and she has retained that sunny smile and disposition. So, your subscribers and viewers all love to catch the occasional glimpse of Eva.
Frankly, all your children are refreshing to us. I'd say y'all have mastered this parenting thing!

Deep Creek Lake used to be one of Maryland's best kept secrets. It has become a very popular vacation spot. Wait until October when the Autum Glory Festival starts in Oakland. Between 50-60,000 people visit Garrett County that week. Really a great time there in the fall. Lots going on in the area.
In the orthopedic clinic we do a lot of injections. Vaso-vagal episodes occur occasionally after someone gets a shot. Seeing the area around the new property is a good bit of footage to create more variety. 👍🏻

I always enjoy you guys videos and this one was no exception. It was nice because I liked y’all chatting about how things are going while sitting at the picnic table. There you both were on one side of the table and all of us on the other side taking it all in. No excavator no tractor no skid sheer just you two guys chatting about going to the movie and enjoying life. Made me feel good for y’all. Nice video!

Another great video. A lesson learned on a real Hot mid summer day I was standing in truck tire rim fixing a flat tire. I swung a long handled spoon hammer to break the bead. And missed hitting myself in the shin as hard as I could swing! Over I went. thought I was going to pass out! Always stand on tire when breaking the bead. Congratulations Levi and Kate on the new Jeep!

Deep Creek is wonderful. Used to go out there when we were at Canoe U years and years ago. And the Gladiator is wonderful. Picked mine up a month ago, and now I just keep looking at all the stuff I want to do with it (bumper, winch, tires) so we can take it out to Moab and Flaming Gorge next year. Gonna be running it naked for the first time today, gorgeous weather in NOVA.

It’s about time you guys smelled the roses and enjoyed life. Can’t think of a couple who deserves it more.
My 30-day western adventure is winding down. We have come east as far as central Kansas. The family I am hauling has their family to visit with several times a day for the next week as we make our way back to Ohio.
Deep Creek is one of my favorite vacation places to go. Being from Pa myself it is not a long trip to get there either. My parents have an old ski boat (Glastron) we fixed up and taking it out on the water is one of the most relaxing things to do. Just so peaceful and calm.
Just found your channel, love all the things you guys are involved with. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Troy from Carefree AZ.
Two more great places to check out in Garrett County around Deep Creek Lake is New Germany State Park, hiking, cabin rentals, camping, swinging, boating etc...and Herrington State Manor Park
Congratulations on being able to take a break. I enjoy watching your videos especially when they have to do with things other than "working" all the time. Vasovagal syncope.. . Yep it happens. Many triggers, intense sharp pain being one.
My wife fainted after a candelabra fell from a mantle to the back of her hand. No damage but instantaneous pain, followed in 30 seconds with a faint episode. Fortunately, it was recognized quickly and I was able to guide her to a supine position.
I've seen it happen to hefty fellows on the job after a thumb strike with a hammer.
Eva will be fine. Sorry for the experience.
On the other hand, cherish time with offspring... she's about ready to fledge the nest.

Mellissa, Mike you both seem too be great parents. Hunter is very fortunate to have you both. It is very apparent that your world revolves around him. No one can say other wise! You MUST take time for yourself. I can not even imagine being in your shoes. My wife just retire with the school district as a special education teacher. She was heart broken for 30+ years seeing parents what did not give half the love as you do. I have been following you channel a few years. Would love to see you in Alaska some day. Yes, Hunter is very welcome anytime. I have a cabin (2,700 sq. ft.) 2 hours North of Anchorage, you are always welcome at anytime. This is river 225 feet of river front.
Me and my family used to vacation at Deep Creek lake , about 50 years ago, you could rent a house on the lake for less than 500 a week. I had a boat and we could dock it right at the house.

Eva, Mellisa and Mike. Eva what you experienced is know as vasovagal syncope. Due to a sharp pain blood pressure drops and an adequate blood supply does not reach the brain. Basically, one faints. I’m glad you recovered fine! It is nothing serious! I like lakes and rivers far more than oceans! Bring on the snow!
Eva could/should model. Looks like a great place to hideout for a few days. Glad yall made it through the kayak issue.

Really enjoyed the video of your mini-vacation got concerned about the Kayak accident with Eva though. Hitting nerves like that can be very devastating sometimes. You want to report that to Eva's doctor to see if there can be a problem. The property snapshots looked great and the lakes are fantastic. Deer stopped and looked towards the woods, " A Bear " you are in deep kimchi. Deer stops for crows, hawks. racoons even house cats, or just any noise. If you have a bear start tracking, it routes.

Sounds like you pass through Morgantown one your way to Terra Alta. Couple of places to eat are Mountain State Brewing Co and Oliverio's. Both are side by side on the Wharf with outdoor seating over looking the Mon River and just minutes off exit 1 of I68
One Of My Sister's Used ToLive At Deep Creek Lake and she and Her husband Operated Raileys Cottages that used be right at the bridge on Rt.219 i used to scuba dive in the lake i found boat motor lot of old Bottles that was Back in 1970s

I love Deep Creek !! Garrett County / Preston County is a beautiful area. Make sure that you are there for the Autumn Glory Festival in October (as long as the weather cooperates). Pick up corn when it is in season - some of the best in the country in my opinion. (I recommend Klotz Corn Shack on MD42 between Friendsville and McHenry). Keep the videos coming, please.

I was so happy to get a gas station near by that finally sells Non Ethanol here in Westmoreland County Pa.. Then the prices went crazy. Oh well just happy to have it for some of my stuff that sits for a period of times.

Happy for you guys and your new escape. Our youngest daughter has spina bifida and is limited to a wheelchair. So I totally get where your coming from. The special needs of our daughter vs Hunters are a bit different but we totally get the dependence of their needs that sometimes limits your activities. We also are very lucky that our oldest daughter is around and can help out. Looking forward to all your new West VA adventures!

Father’s Day did a family canoe trip with my grandson and myself in a canoe. We traveled maybe 15 feet and rolled the canoe into the river. Fun times!
