A set for hauling grain and also a set for hauling cattle. It was our go to truck. I saw it about 3 weeks ago hauling mulch from the local saw mill. Still going strong. Thanks for the video Mike.

Mike, you need to see if you can get a Farm truck tag for it. That would prevent you from paying the outrageous commercial insurance and tag prices. In North Carolina, forestry products are considered farm products and you can legally sell your products from the truck without a commercial tag. A huge difference in price for me in NC. When I sold my trucking business I kept 2 tractor-trailer trucks and I'm using them with a farm tag. You surely have enough land to qualify for a farm tag.
Most states also exclude farmers from the requirement of having a CDL, which now requires a 160 hour classroom portion to get the license. Dump truck insurance is very high due in part to a lot of the smaller companies running on a shoestring. Farm tags are the way to go. Only limitation is 150 miles from the farm and you can’t haul for anyone else. A win-win

Actually, That’s a really nice dump truck given its age. My thoughts are it’s old diesel fuel that’s sat around a while and the injectors are somewhat clogged probably the cylinders are carboned up just from lack of use. Walmart makes a cheap injector cleaner ($1.58) which you could put in a few bottles in the tank which should clean it out. The smoke can’t be from a bad ring/oil seal/valve because once it’s at temperature the unit stops smoking. The bouncing speedometer is due to a broken cable who knows is still in place from the transmission to the dashboard, easy fix. The few other things to be street legal, you might want to consider then you can take up 79 to 422 and back that should be enough to loosen everything up and clean out the engine. Just my thoughts. Hope these gave something to consider and were helpful…Tom
I like "Henry". because he's a Ford. Smoke is good name too.. Years back, we had a 74 Ford dump truck with a V8 and 2 speed axle. Ran forever but did use some oil. Ratty interior reminded me of it when I saw your new buy! Congrats. Ron.

It took me just 5 min . my uncle told me years later it took dad about 30 min to put it in that spot . thanks for the awesome memories . and good luck with your new blue lady . maybe call her Betsy , dad would have loved that .Betsy was a WW2 airplane that he flew out on the pacific.

LOL what a great video Love the blue Genie as you were coming up the hill.
Old blue is perfect Mike Love it.
Good morning Mike, Melissa, and family. I would call your new truck blue ox or my favorite
Papa Smurf
Loved it. Whencoming up the hill, the blue truck was preceded by the blue smoke.
A good ride for sure and a Ford 700, too. Great find, onward!
Hi Mike
Congratulations with your new-old dump truck she sure smokes a bit but that’s good to because that now makes it a combination dump truck and Mosquito fogger. lol I think you should name it OLD SMOKIE! Ron & Diane from Wis
🚚👍😆
Ok. Get those doors some OWTM magnetic decals. You've already got artwork!
Wow! Congratulations on the dump truck. There are many younger adults out working hard. We need to encourage and uplift them as they do their jobs. Thanks Mike for the great video.,
I have a 1977 f600 dump. The twin lift booms are super and can dump as much as you can put on the truck! Yes, trucks came with either 330 or 361 industrial motors. I have the 330 which is a bit under powered.
Ha! I be durn. The timing is something else. I just purchased myself a 1976 Ford 600 dump truck fir $4k Saturday and brought it home. It's Red and has the 330 gas V8 5 speed in it. Class motor of the 360 & 390's. I'll have to take some pics and email them to you. This just made my day! "Ole Red" is what I named her 👍👍👍👍!
"Old blue" fits you perfect! like the name fits the truck..
Awesome gem you got there. Will be very handy and won't wanna get rid of the ol girl. 😁👍
Congrats on the new to you dump truck!
“Old Smokey”
Love the dump truck . It’s got the same dash as the school bus I use to drive . I think that truck is my favorite of all your vehicles !!! Name , Dump One !!!
Won't have to worry about mosquitoes on the OWTM property anymore! Love it, looks great. Would go well with my 1961 Allis Chalmers D15. Take care,
When you drove Old Blue up the hill at your place, there was a cloud of exhaust smoke following you, that's when I thought about Linus in the Peanuts cartoon series. Linus or Old Blue would be good names for Your New/Old Truck. Like you always say, "Have a Day!" I enjoy your videos immensely! Tell Archie Happy Birthday !!! When we had hunting dogs we use to say, "Happy Boof Day!" So "Happy Boof Day Archie!"
reminds me of my dad... nice, new tractors and equipment, and an old pile dumptruck! haha
Halfway through watching. Heavy metal music. Nice touch.
Mike this truck is you. Great pick up. It is in really good shape. This truck will be so handy for you, a great match for your excavator. Have fun and be safe, farmer rod
Ol Blue! Haha! I don't know what I like more...the blue paint or the blue smoke. (it's the smoke!!) Nice find, Mike!
I had an old tandem axle chevy straight truck that we called OLD BLUE. Great name and will fit your old truck we.ll.
Just wanted to let ya know that my dad had that same year truck way back when I was a kid , learned to drive on that and an old 59 Studebaker 5 ton , so much fun when the clutch would go through the floor on ya . LOL the ford was named BETSY BLUE OR ON A BAD DAY DAD WOULD CALL HER BLUE BETS . what a great bunch of memory's that brought back . have to tell ya in order to go get my drivers licence my dad made me get that truck out of a very tight spot on a slope where it was parked between two huge trees . It took me just 5 min . my uncle told me years later it took dad about 30 min to put it in that spot . thanks for the awesome memories . and good luck with your new blue lady . maybe call her Betsy , dad would have loved that .Betsy was a WW2 airplane that he flew out on the pacific.
That’s one sweet truck! It even comes with a mosquito fogger! You need to trick it out with OWM decals on the doors!
3 K love the new dump truck great Buy
CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW DUMP TRUCK 😉
Hey guys, I think the perfect name for your truck would be " ole stan". A nice tribute on the anniversary of Stanley. All the best from Ireland 🇮🇪.
Great purchase. Trucks like that will never die. That steering wheel is huge. I'll be very interested in seeing how those tow trucks work. Hard working young man. That stove is massive and should be able to heat the whole building if need be. Good luck with your purchases. Stay safe.
As an apprentice I loved working on those. Although it sounds like an 1160, if it’s a 3208 even better. Turbo 3208 clears up the smoke.
Nice “Beater” truck! It’s aged well.
😀 I enjoy watching
From one Ford guy to another … awesome purchase! 😁👍🏻
"Old Blue" good name. She is a beauty !!
Ole Buckin' Billy Ray would LOVE that dump truck!!!
She's a smoker!....WEEEE!....GOOD OLD FORD TRUCK!....engine sounds good....Mike make sure you put a safety device for box...thanks 4 video be kind.
That's a cool old truck cant wait to see the ole boy put in some work
You should call it bluford kinda like buford
Nice truck! Reminds me of the mosquito foggier that used to drive around my hometown.
Now you can tail gate your rock! Blooper is the name I came up with!
BABY BLUE!!!!!!!!!
Give some love to the old girl and probably some day grandson will enjoy it 😉
