This video was originally intended to come out months ago after the April fools video, and even before my announcement video, but things got complicated. I was moving to a new school, made new friends, and got a whole load of new responsibilities (plus hollow knight) and my channel just sort of became a wasteland for a few months. But I’m so glad that I finally finished this, because I can now focus on other projects I have in mind for this channel, I have a whole lot of hollow knight animatics queued up, and I’ll be releasing them over the course of November, so you have that to look forward to. Also, I know that there are probably a lot of historical mistakes in this video, and if there are, please tell me, because I’m interested to learn more about this lunatic. Also, if art styles change during the video, that’s because I was working on this on and off for the past 6 months, and over those past 6 months my art style has changed, as well as the brush size. So glad to be back on UA-cam. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for 3k.

I love the fact that he got so many diseases and injuries, but the one thing that killed him, was himself. It was only when his own willpower was broken, that he danced with the grim reaper.

Y'know, this animation really helps one to understand just how many injuries this man got during his life.
Like we use "Rasputin" as an allegory for people who keep surviving despite life-threathening injuries, and yet here's Hemmingway collecting physical trauma like they're pokemon!
Also that wide-smiling Randy at the end has to be one of the most adorable things you've ever drawn.

Look up micheal malloy, hes called the irish rasputin or the durable for a reason
Since if i remember right he drank enough alcohal to kill someone without dying, had the alcohal switched for antifreeze and had it do nothing, switched to turpentine again he was fine, switched to horse liniment fine, tried mixing in rat poison and still nothing happened
Tried mixing in some wood alchohal with his regular alchohal again nothing
Next was raw oysters dipped in wood alchohal and you geussed it nothing happened
They made a sandwich with spoiled sardines, poison and carpet tacks and he swallowed it like nothing
Since nothing they fed him killed him they decieded to try freezing him to death, when he passed out in the bar they took him to a park poured 5 gallons of water on his bare chest and left him in a snowbank, he was rescued by the police and was fine
They then tried running him over with a car going 45 miles/72km an hour, was in the hospital for 3 weeks with some broken bones
He was finally killed by hooking him up to a coal gas jet
All this was to collect on 3 life ensurence policies taken out on him, and how he needed to die to collect was natural causes and im sure you can tell his death was anything but a natural cause

For those of you who want to recite this: You’re welcome.
Born in Chicago in 1899, son of a physician and a musician, reasonably uneventful childhood, decided to study Journalism.
Enlisted with the Red Cross during World War I, got BLOWN up in Milan and spent 6 months in hospital with severe shrapnel wounds in both legs. Fell in love with a nurse, they decided to get married. He came home to prepare, she stayed there and ditched him for an Italian soldier, which initiated a life long pattern of him rejecting women before they had a chance to reject him.
Got a job as a foreign correspondent, fell in love with his roommates' sister, married her and moved to Paris. They hung out with Gertrude Stein. They kicked it with Pablo Picasso. He started writing in earnest, no pun intended.
Moved to Toronto, had a kid, moved back to Paris, published a couple of books. Cheated on his wife, got divorced, married the other woman. Converted to Catholicism...
Cut his head open after pulling on a cord thinking he was flushing a toilet and instead ripped a skylight from the roof and smashed it onto HIS FACE!
Moved to Kansas City, had another kid, his dad committed suicide, he shot a lot of bears for some reason. Had a car accident, had another kid, went to Africa to kill some wild animals and got dysentery karma!
Published another book, moved to Cuba, SHOT HIMSELF IN THE LEG WHILST AIMING AT A SHARK! Cheated on his wife, got divorced, married the other woman.
Published "For Whom the Bell Tolls," sold half a million copies in a couple of months and got nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Cheated on his wife, got divorced, married the other woman.
Became the self appointed leader of a band of village Militia outside of Paris and was subsequently brought up on charges for contravening the Geneva Convention, and GOT AWAY WITH IT LIKE A FUCKING CHAMPION!
Got pneumonia, moved back to Cuba and spent most of his spare time on his boat _tracking Nazi U-boats with a machine gun and a pile of hand grenades I AM NOT MAKING THIS SHIT UP!_
Had a few more car accidents, three more concussions, got CLAWED WHILE PLAYING WITH A LION...
Got depressed, drank. Got fat, published a couple more books, went back to Africa to shoot some more wild animals, and barely survived two separate plane crashes in the space of 24 hours, winding up with a fractured skull, internal bleeding, cracked spine, ruptured liver, first degree burns, and a paralyzed sphincter muscle karma!
Won a Nobel Prize, had a file opened on him by J. Edgar Hoover, left a bunch of shit in a safe in Cuba and moved to Idaho, paranoid that the feds were following him which they were BECAUSE HE SPENT MOST OF THE 1940S WORKING FOR THE KGB, AGAIN _NOT MAKING THIS SHIT UP!_
Suffered from hepatitis, nephritis, hypertension, hemochromatosis, anemia and impotence, karma.
Got committed, received way too much electroconvulsive therapy and came out all fucked up, started hinting at suicide so immediately got recommitted, received another couple of months worth of electroconvulsive therapy, got released, put both barrels of his favorite 12-gauge shotgun into his mouth and BLEW HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF! _WHAT A GUY!_

YEEEEES this is what I subbed for!
Okay, imma rewatch this and note down all the little things I like
0:01 The orchestral intro is really fitting for this long-awaited masterpiece.
0:17 I've never seen an animatic with the subtitles being part of the drawing. They have so much character, too!
0:21 Love that you've even done your own resaerch on Hemingway's life XD
0:24 If you wanna be famous, become a gamer. If you're bad at games, opt for journalism
0:27 The "BLOWN UP" bit is so funny to me
0:39 The "ditched him" text looks like a monster in a horror movie
0:40 Morgan will get his revenge...
0:45 Morgan just scribbling and playing Tic-tac-toe on his self-guide to dating
0:47 You included all the details about Matt's life!
0:52 Her T-shirt literally says "I'm the sister of a guy whose roomate will become famous one day... maybe"
0:58 Omg the K in kicking is kicking a ball. Genious
1:11 Ernest is looking real snazzy in those clothes
1:12 Because I love looking into small details :)
1:26 YT thinks "aliven't" would be a better word
    1:28 Poor bears :(
1:40 This entire scene is golden XD. The shark eating salt (as they do in the mint-blue water). The bullet being reflected with a mirror. The leg bone being in a very... scary position for a bone.
2:02 He just looks so proud of what he's accomplished
2:06 Is the judge an angry puppet with a hammer sticking out at the end ofhis arm? If so, brilliant
2:19 Hemingway is gone now. Bandana-Hemingway is here.
2:27 Love the timing, the words being inside the cars. Just love it
2:29 Oh look, Randy's here! XD
2:20 The cast on his arm could have been signed either by his mother, or by a friend who does too many "yo mama" jokes
2:46 Goodness, the guy hasn't even put out the flames yet!
2:52 I now know what a Sphincter muscle is. Thanks
2:59 Those files were very funny
3:10 Noone ever asks "How is life", or "How is anything?"
3:21 Okay, I actually feel really bad for him now
3:35 It's finally over.... Or is it? **Vsauce music plays**
3:37 I love the little "fwing" near the book. It wasn't necessary, nor was going to be seen by many, but you put it there anyway. I LOOOVE these little details!
3:39 No, thank YOU for this! This is the best part of my evening :D

Had a file opened by Hoover? So a man who was terrible to women in his life was investigated by a man who liked wearing women's clothes. I can't tell if that's appropriate, irony or appropriate irony.
