I think elemental focused lightning shiv is an amazing weapon for the captain because it scales very well despite no attack speed and fewer weapons. In general, I find it to be a very underrated weapon because it's basically a slingshot that scales with the number of ennemies it hits.
I get why people say he's the hardest but I thought he was extremely easy. All I did was use quarterstaffs and made sure to get as far as I could with as little weapons and bought xp gain items. I struggled significantly more with curious and diver.
Captain is a cakewalk if the +XP gain tag pops off as this run demonstrates, but most runs don't get nearly that lucky and being nerfed to half weapons or less to gain any levels is... tough.
The character is annoying because the enemies get double hp and damage. That’s much harder with less weapons. You not struggling doesn’t make the character easy. That’s just your RNG which is a very giant factor in this game.
@bighersh14 I have too, once I found two scars at wave 8 and thats it, had to give up at 10 despite retries because I was too far behind. Second was an easy win thanks to three early celery teas.
@@alphax4785 the first run I did I had one scar and only quarterstaffs that’s the only xp gain I had and I won very easily. The character just isn’t hard anymore. When he had 10% extra then yeah but not anymore.
For those having trouble with this strategy, hatchet continues to be extremely strong for weapon amount limited characters like this and one arm. It scales the best out of basically any weapon (100 + 15% AS) and attacks almost 3x faster than most of the other weapons. Just remember you need to grab the first good range and melee upgrades you see, because the starting damage and range of Hatchet plain sucks.
I was so confused when he mentioned that. 1. I don't remember you picking that item up 2. Why the hell would you have picked that up after taking Blood Donation so early on?!
Great one! Could you please use the ui++ mod so we can see stats even when you are in battle and better keep up with the run? Thank you for the non stop guides!
Thanks! I decided not to use the ui mods because I think it would be confusing for new players if my screen shows something different than theirs (you have no idea how many questions I get just about the highlighting circle under the character, which is a default option!)
I went Ghost axe, kept 2 with a flint for awhile until I felt my damage and attack speed were good enough before going to 4 and 2. Focused on luck to get those better stat upgrades. Worked out really well, crushed the wave 20 bosses but started to fall off quick in endless.
Also Gmo 3 Creature+Saver+Demon. Get Creature cursingGhost Sceptre cursed for fast health/currency build, Saver just cause you will have stupid money for damage, and Demon so you can just bank money for saver.
High level javelins already have a ton of piercing, and lose damage per pierce, so I don't think it's that useful - the 6th enemy you pierce to will take such a small amount of damage because it loses 25% every time. We had pumpkin in this run so it was maybe more viable, but still would need 6 enemies lined up in a row to give us any value
Given how powerful level ups are, and how many materials you had staring around wave 14, do you think it’s worth spending more on rolling for better level ups vs taking level two upgrades? Or because the level twos are the power of level fours already is it fine? (Didn’t finish the full video sorry if you cover this later!)
isn't the small fish excellent for this build? Since you always want to one tap enemies it should help enormously. Love watching your vids, always a pleasure
Genuinely no idea how you do it! I have run a lot of corporate training sessions but doing that every day and with children who aren't being paid to be there requires fortitude I just don't have :P

I used to be a trainer in my previous profession and I remember the ten hour days of just talking to new hires or groups in a new location- it is taxing, especially when you’re recovering from sickness! Feel better soon
Really, really, REALLY hate this character. just having a really rough mid-game, just end up getting overwhelmed with totally insufficient clearing power. *edit - I left this comment, then did a run, gave myself an extra weapon a little earlier and picked up a giant's belt half way through, throwing my crit potential through the roof. Basically made the enemy health increase moot, because my damage was scaling at a similar speed. Totally minced the bosses.
So what. Everyone else is a gangster at this game? Ive played this game for a long time and lose more often than win. I lose close to 90% of the time. Just a class guide is not helping enough. Can you make a video about how to move in this game?? I die so god damn much. I still cant beat the streamer....on any difficulty......i need some serious help. I think most characters are way too hard. Maybe just adjust the luck to most runs. I think it would make the game better
33:18 is Exoskeleton even good here? It's 218 materials for -5 hp regen, +5% speed, +3 armor.

I get You man i did shiv and he can clear everything pretty essy while also farming everything with the aoe

@alphax4785 i mean I guess but I've played him twice and both times had no issues at all.

Wow! What a run. Stunning stats by the end.
We got really lucky items in this one!

My guy really thought he had triangle of power lol
classic triangle blindness

I’m curious about your thoughts on eyepatch on a javelin build. It seems like it could be helpful.

28:35 Really inspiring
Hey, can you do a video like Dex did ?
Highest amount of bait with Fisherman you can buy until end of wave 20
Me again! Haven't done this one yet but im going to machine gun comment on loads to helo u out Ceph. Ur the best.

Captain+ multitasker would go insane
What are your thoughts on the icicle? I've come to really like it, though I don't play on Danger 5 as often these days.
Correction, I’d like to see a captain, mutant, multitasker play through. Surely that means a monstrous amount of double value levels!
Now I want to see Captain + one armed + whatever. Maybe mutant?
No empty slots
@JateGuitar oh. That's right. Excellent point. Maybe baby instead?
I would think the weapon limitation would be enough handicap without needing to also buff enemies
isn't the small fish excellent for this build? Since you always want to one tap enemies it should help enormously.
Love watching your vids, always a pleasure
Cursed Walrus and the Fishooks, live at The Abyss.
Weird ghost has killed me at the start of the wave even when I had stupid amounts of health regen (on mobile).
Can you please do a gmo run of engineer + cyborg + technomage? I think the end result will be pretty funny
Maybe you can combine kid captian and mutant i think this will be slow combo in the start and in the end crazy
Captain + multitasker + mutant
I don’t believe warhammer resets the medical turret because it says “offensive” turrets?
wave 8 crown was MASSIVE
Definitely!
The lack of early barnacle is really sad
Like to watch your videos but it hurts my head that you didnt lock one javelin to get a cursed one for guaranteed crits
finally beat it. Captain isn't the worse but he sure isnt fun!
Man your RNG is amazing, mine sucks lol. Played lucky the other night and never seen a cyberball untill wave 22 lol ( yes I play endless )
24:20 imagine being a teacher xD
Genuinely no idea how you do it! I have run a lot of corporate training sessions but doing that every day and with children who aren't being paid to be there requires fortitude I just don't have :P
Captain Jack Sparrow Ghost Captain Baby as a triple character would be interesting if Captain doubles Baby
What a fun. Feels like 200 luck in items
Didn't you skip triangle??
You bought the blood donation I think
classic triangle blindness
shouldn't eyepatch be really good? Extra piercing on critical hit sounds like a blessing

Danger 5. No movement. Bull + any two characters.

So like the best strategy is to do spirals around the enemies to kind of group them up before killing them
