- Piers Morgan is joined by a panel consisting of Conservative writer Esther Krakue, Vanity Fair Royal editor Katie Nicholl and playwright and author Bonnie Greer to discuss the Rwanda policy after the first flight was approved by the judge in the High Court. Piers and Esther get into a heated debate on whether it is ethical to turn migrants away from Britain. Esther thinks that as a refugee or asylum seeker, you should go to the first safe country and shouldn't be allowed to choose. Bonnie counters this by saying that English is the universal language of the world so it makes sense for people to want to go to a place where they already understand the language. She also brings up that we should look after the country's capacity to an extent, but most people in the UK descend from immigrants who have helped make this country so 'great'.

People can’t just arrive in a country on a boat illegally putting themselves at risk and their children. They need to be deterred otherwise they will continue to risk their lives. Not sure what the answer is but something needs to be done.

Bonnie Greer claims Britain is exporting its immigration problem to another country (Rwanda) but ignores France is exporting their problem to British shores. Her justification for allowing immigrants to cross the channel is that they speak English, and they won’t be able to do business in France because they don’t speak French. How does she know how many of them speak English? And if they don’t, based on her argument they have no reason to leave France and come to England. Besides many immigrants who come to England learn to speak English, so why can’t they learn to speak French? Bonnie claims how enterprising they must be because they made it across the channel, so much so she’d consider interviewing them for a job, well I wouldn’t describe someone as enterprising if they’re not prepared to make the effort to learn French. Bonnie also claims the British are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants, but why is this relevant? You can’t have open borders if your infrastructure can’t cope, if it costs too much, poverty is increasing and there's a housing shortage and there’s only so much land you can build on. Why is this ignored by those that want open borders?
Well glf9r regular people a human life is worth more than a little bit more space. If you're basing it morally you have no stance as the UK was one of the worst oppressors in history. If you're basing it lawfully your correct that it's right in the law but in the eyes of morality that's a terrible thing to say.
I would go so far as to say how far back do we go? If youre talking lawfully it should be whenbthe countrie was established. So do we do One generation, two? or just the recent illegals? Cause that would be an unfair judgement on present but not on past.. Do we go back 3 generations or 4? Most English people or just people and yourself included are illegal immigrants .

I think this is a wonderful point, they have safety and security in France. When we talk about their desperation, that ultimately means a fight for survival and freedom, however they risk their lives coming to the UK for our welfare system and benefits. It's unfair to those who have come here legally and pay taxes as every other British Citizen does, in order to fund the 5.6 million a day we're spending on illegal immigrant housing.
The French aren't forcefully putting immigrants on boats and planes, unlike the British.
What about OTHER COUNTRIES !!!! Why can’t they go to Saudi Arabia, or the UAE, or Bahrain …. Or Kuwait …. Why do they have to come to Europe

If they are wrong for asking for the help we are also wrong for not helping. Lawfully its correct morally yes we're wrong. Speaking as a Canadian with many illegals that I know. I think the difference is that illegal immigrants have specifically chosen the UK due to our welfare and benefits system as well as free healthcare. They could have stopped at either safer neighbouring countries or even France for safety. Instead they choose to endanger themselves as well as their children by arriving in this country in small dinghies.

Esther is right, there is not an infinite amount of space, and there are multiple other country’s they could go to. Our government is too soft, and immigrants know if they come here (over countries like France) they will get a ton of benefits. It’s all a giant mess and the whole bordering system in Europe needs redoing in my opinion.

My spouse's grandmother has been trying to get to the US legally for the past 16 years, but because she is missing one document (her divorce papers) she has been denied over and over again. Prince Charles should be allowed to say what he wants to say. It’s ridiculous that the monarchy is something where even a king can’t speak out about his own country’s issues. It should be one of the jobs of the monarchy to stay informed and have understanding of these issues and address them when needed. We are a nation of compassionate people, who have been accused repeatedly of being both racist and bigoted by people who have come here from countries that are known for their intolerance towards women, other ethnic minorities, homosexuals, and religious freedom. It is supposed to be wrong to even express concern. Are we expected to just allow a constant and continuous flow of immigration, both economic and humanitarian.

I think you can't talk about the strain on the system blamed on immigration without mentioning the several billions suddenly available to send to Ukraine and Israel...where a fraction of the money would support positive changes needed in society for years.
