Even though Al acts like he really doesn’t care about Peg, he won’t anyone else disrespect her or make a pass at her and that shows in his own way that he still loves her and he has her back no matter what!
Especially when he asks her if it’ll make her happy if he admits he’s jealous. He was going to go on arguing that he wasn’t but thought it best to just stop and make her happy

She's an independent woman free to express herself any way she chooses with however many partners she wants... the morning after when the light of day shines on everything and the booze wears off may change her perception though.

Al's and Peg's relationship is the only relationship I've ever been jealous of, to have a man but at the same time not really having a man. I've been single for 20years and loved every second of it but seeing Al and Peg always felt like something I could enjoy having, someone who'd come home every day but I could continue to sit in the sofa and watch tv or do whatever I want without feeling I'd have to interact with the guy! But knowing he IS there and WILL come home every day anyway!
Get you a trucker. They're never really home...you maybe have them hone for a weekend once a month and the rest if the month you can do whatever you wish 😆 unless you choose to go out on the road with them.
There's someone for everyone...no need to stay alone except for 27 days out of the month 😆

I know it's an artistic flourish to show common ground between the binary/non-binary, but the other guy's wife has a high paying job
