Do you know how the FDNY uses their alarm system? Like is every fire there an instant 1st alarm or ? - Great catches tho!!

For the most part yes FDNY when they get box alarms they immediately go to a 1st from my knowledge I could be wrong tho

First it starts out as a 10-75 which is the most common type of fire. Then it goes to all hands, they can even add an extra engine+truck or whatever is needed. Then it goes to 2nd, 3rd, so on and so forth. Sometimes it can be a 2nd alarm on arrival, etc.

Starts off with an assignment of 3 engines, 2 trucks, 1 BC. A 10-75 is a working fire. All-Hands is essentially an enhanced working fire assignment that isn’t yet a full 2nd alarm that calls one additional engine and one additional truck above the total 10-75 assignment of 4 engines and 3 trucks.
