One thing I really appreciate is how the show treats Vex's desire not to have a relationship with Percy as different from Vax's desire not to have a relationship with Kiki. They're very similar, but the difference between "We can't do this because I'm afraid I'll end up getting hurt" and "We can't do this because I'm afraid you'll end up getting hurt" is incredibly important and it's rare for a piece of fiction to not just do both but treat both as different.
I also know it was mostly character decisions probably driven by the camaraderie of the actors, but the fact that Percy and Vax are both respectful about getting rejected gets me too.
2:20 the meaning is that, as a half-elf she will live a lot longer than most people. Plus, once she's a 'master' druid she'll live 10x as long. Keyleth will live for 1000s of years, far more than anyone she loves
To add to this, Keyleth goes over it when Vax visits her room and she confirms to him that her Aramente responsibilities will last centuries, longer than the rest of VM will live.
Half elves don't actually get a huge life expectancy like thier full elf parent, it's actually much closer to thier human parent's... elves live several hundred years, but half elves only get around 150... but even with that "shorter" time once a druid reaches 14th level they gain an ability called timeless body which slows every 1 year of aging into 10, extending that 150 to 1500... Keyleth achieving her aramente is mechanically just timeless body which any druid can achieve (if they make it to 14, which is kind of high bc most campaigns end with the player characters around level 11 or 12 so it doesn't get used as a story point often)

I just finished episode 5. It was so damn good, it felt like a finale episode. Probably the most bad ass episode since The Kill Box. This show just keeps getting better and better and better. This season is so fire!

When Percy was rehearsing his lines for approaching Vex, did you catch the label on the bottle? It's clearer in the table game version, but it was here in the episode as well. It was a bottle labeled "Courage"! 🙂 As to your questions at the end, remember that Thordak sent out that bounty on Vox Machina and they'd get Raishon's share of the empire. Given Dola's jealousy, she quickly and gladly took up that offer. She must have had some method of communicating with Vorugal and Thordak, but it works well enough.

Like your editor pointed out, Dohla is a Dragonborn, a red one. Dragonborn are believed to be related to dragons so they also come in the same colors as dragons. Grog is a Goliath which is also distantly related to Giants like Dragonborn are related to Dragons. You saw a zombie giant in the first season when they went to Whitestone.

In other words, even in a best case scenario, Keyleth's future is destined to include lifetimes spent with all of her friends dead. And she knows it. It's part of why she gets so upset with Vax, I think. He's like, "oh, we can't be together because I'm going to die and then that will hurt you," but Keyleth knows that's inevitable anyway and is just trying to live in the present and find happiness while she can. But Vax is too wrapped up in his own self-angst over it all to recognize that he's not actually saving her from anything, he's just robbing her of that chance to be happy before the inevitable.
I've been waiting so long for that scene when Percy went to Vex' room, it's such a great scene from the campaign. My Perc'ahlia heart is very happy. And yes, Allura looked very sexy, you should say it. This episode sure was spicy, my bi self was like 😳🥵.

Half-Elves (Keyleth, Vax'ildan, Vex'ahlia) can live to be roughly 180 years. Assuming Keyleth is alread 20 years old, that means that she'll likely live to be at least 1600 years before she dies of old age (Or up to 1800 years, if you don't count from where she is now.) That means that she'll out live everyone, even Scanlan and Pike who can live to be 500 years. And that means that even in the best case scenario, Keyleth will lose her friends one by one even if they win the day.

A high ranking, red Dragonborn, spellcaster who favors fire, who resents Allura and Kima's relationship, who went back to Draconia when they didn't get what they wanted out of traveling with their adventuring party, and then was killed by Vorugal. Even the clothing design is similar. That's beyond coincidence. Even if the CR cast didn't write it, they had to have approved it - knowing that critters would automatically make the connection
They’re really starting to play with continuity from the original now. The reason they went to Dis in the original was to kill a demon who was hunting them. In DnD lore, demons killed in the regular world are sent back to Hell. They’re only permanently dead when killed in the Hell realm. Knowing where things are going. I’m having a hard time seeing how they end this first campaign completely without at least two more seasons.
I'm reasonably sure that's the plan. They likely hadn't been aiming to wrap the whole campaign by the end of this season, just the Chroma Conclave arc.
Yes and no. In the original game, the Plate of the Dawnmartyr was in the City of Brass, a city on the Elemental Plane of Fire. The City of Brass is trademarked by Wizards of the Coast, so LoVM can't use it. But since the City of Brass has a high population of fiends anyway, it makes sense to simply change the location to Hell itself. What I find interesting is that DnD lore makes a distinction between Devils and Demons, with Devils coming from Hell and Demons coming from the Abyss (Hotis was a devil, hence why they went to Hell to kill him). But the cartoon is using "devil" and "demon" interchangeably, meaning that the cartoon isn't just breaking from the continuity of the streamed game, but the established lore of the streamed game as well.

A high ranking, red Dragonborn, spellcaster who favors fire, who resents Allura and Kima's relationship, who went back to Draconia when they didn't get what they wanted out of traveling with their adventuring party, and then was killed by Vorugal. Even the clothing design is similar. That's beyond coincidence. Even if the CR cast didn't write it, they had to have approved it - knowing that critters would automatically make the connection
They’re really starting to play with continuity from the original now. The reason they went to Dis in the original was to kill a demon who was hunting them. In DnD lore, demons killed in the regular world are sent back to Hell. They’re only permanently dead when killed in the Hell realm.
Knowing where things are going. I’m having a hard time seeing how they end this first campaign completely without at least two more seasons.
I'm reasonably sure that's the plan. They likely hadn't been aiming to wrap the whole campaign by the end of this season, just the Chroma Conclave arc.

In the original game, the Plate of the Dawnmartyr was in the City of Brass, a city on the Elemental Plane of Fire. The City of Brass is trademarked by Wizards of the Coast, so LoVM can't use it. But since the City of Brass has a high population of fiends anyway, it makes sense to simply change the location to Hell itself.
What I find interesting is that DnD lore makes a distinction between Devils and Demons, with Devils coming from Hell and Demons coming from the Abyss (Hotis was a devil, hence why they went to Hell to kill him). But the cartoon is using "devil" and "demon" interchangeably, meaning that the cartoon isn't just breaking from the continuity of the streamed game, but the established lore of the streamed game as well.
