I only find two practical uses of the periscope zoom cameras i.e. clicking the image of moon or the images of birds. Yes it is a niche feature, but sure is interesting. 👍
Periscope zoom is useful in stadiums, where you are sitting in a distance but want to click picture of the player. Or let's say you are in the convocation ceremony and want to take a picture of the special moment. More practical when we are in the long gallery style classroom and want to take a snapshot of what professor is writing on the board.
According to my personal views , I love this zoom feature , currently I am using s20fe 5g and I widely use this zoom feature, like in moon photography, for clear view of far object, for flex also😜 Previously I had realme 6 pro , which was have 20x zoom....so I love telephoto lence camera setup 🙏🌚

It's very usefull in mountains and jungles for photography, especially in the Himalayas upto 40x hybrid zoom...you can clearly see and capture the mesmerising snowy picks, vivid wildlifes...though it would not be good as dslr but decent enough to capture the moment and post in social networking sites...egar to see 20x optical zoom in next samsung flagship...

Optical zoom is best for portrait photography and also helps in video recording of any concert from a long distance. I am using Samsung S21fe, it is very nice than many of the smartphone for the above mentioned things. Though it is below average for gamers.
I love bird photography.. but I am not a professional so looking for a mobile, instead of a camera .. please suggest a phone . My husband have Sony hx400v 50x zoom which does the work for some extend.. (reference)

Zooming is necessary. Proper zooming helps many to shoot pictures. Carrying lens with DSLR is a quite tedious job but one can easily carry a mobile.
