I just spent months looking for one, Just found a 04 Tundra with zero body or frame rust. Has a few dings and dents, but all repairable. Just got done taking the cheap 2" lift out of it that the guy had on it when i bought it. Also got a hell of a deal! $4900. I would choose this truck over a brand new 2023
How many miles on her? Those engines last forever.
244k Just breaking her in, Runs like a top super smooth same with the transmission. My 03 Tundra has 290k and still runs amazing too, frame is just gotten to bad for a sticker.@@TheShowtime85
I bought a 2006 SR5 Double Cab with 123,000 miles. It's a cream puff, looks like it's never been sat in and no accidents. Not a speck of rust anywhere.
Ive got an 02 with 700k and it still melts the tires off
700k, whaaat
Original transmission?
@@Adam-wt5id yes
Still got my 2003 4.7 V8 with only 125k miles. Love it.
These trucks will run forever you have a keeper 💪
Nice Trundra! + nice informative video! One thing(might be an age thing 🙃). Just a little slow down with over expression and arm movement. Keep up the good work!
Thanks boss! I’ll definitely try to slow down the hand movement. As a mechanic, we do things with our hands and we explain certain things with expressive hand movement 😂 it’s an issue we know. Thanks for checking out the video!
I have an 05 tundra limited. 230 thousand miles. I agree check front end suspension. I spent 5 k on repairs ball joints n control arms and rack and pinion. I crossed that road do i repair or let it go. Im happy i spent the money. Engine purrs like a champ.
Nice truck
I thought I had the exhaust manifold leak on my 05 tundra. Checked the spark plugs and one was hand loose. Replaced all plugs no more ticking sound from exhaust.
I’ve got that motor in my 01 Land Cruiser. Trying to find one of them tundras now and sell the cruiser. I need a truck bad.
My ‘00 has got the manifold leak, probably so for a while. Is that something that should be taken care of asap or could it wait ?
I have an 05 tundra, toyota recommends 100k mile for timing belt. My best friends 2001 TRD 4x4 tundra has 460k miles. Nothing has been replaced except the radiator, waterpump, timing belt. Just recently rear diff went bad.
Very informative video but there is one thing you forgot to mention about the first gen Tundra. The frame on the first gen had major rust problems. It was bad enough that Toyota had a frame recall on certain years.
I have a 2005 Toyota tundra. No noticeable rust from what I can tell! But how would you find out more about the frame recall on these trucks?? Just interested would like to know, nice video thank you.
Toyota calls the 2UZ a non-interference, but there’s no promises, all it takes is a little kiss from the cylinder to mess things up
1 Tip for your future videos is quit looking at yourself in the camera lol. Look in the camera. Nice Tundra
Oh and if your turn the key on and look at the dash there is totally and transmission temp light.
Yes I was referring to a trans temp gauge. Not a light 👍
Omg! It actually has a fuel Guage! Dang! ! That's Sick!
I have a 2006 TRD OFF Road extended cab with 186,000 miles we did have to replace the rear diff because it leaked continuously.
Yeah, each individual person has their different experiences. This owner hasn’t had any issues with his dif or transfer case after 210K miles.
T-belt job is pretty straightforward.
How so ?
Just did one took about a day and 500$ in all parts associated
Got a 2002 4.7 with 113K miles
Same here mine has 112k limited
Going to look at a 2003 tundra today with 144k on it. What’s my max I should pay for?
8k-9k
@@ZacTrautman checked it out I could still my hand thru the frame.. tomorrow I’m looking at a 2001 tundra with 134k on it frame been replaced for 4800
@@RonStar502 Did you get your truck?
@@iamkalewillis I did get the 2001 tundra with 150k miles on it. Frame is in kinda good kinda bad shape
@@iamkalewillis I paid 4k for it
Those wheels man why you gotta do that to a truck like that...
I got an 05 with the stock 17s and guess what they will fit 16s which is what I GOT great off road runs so smooth.
It isn't my truck. It's a friend's truck! Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like mine @ 300k
I have the same truck What size wheels & tire you running
I’m not the owner of the vehicle, I was simply checking out his vehicle and giving him an analysis of the health state the vehicle is in. So yeah. It appears he has a leveling kit installed, and some aftermarket rims with a small increase in wheel size. Don’t know the dimensions though.
