Thank you lorirocks and Paolo. This is my first video trip to Chur in this direction. In 2001 I travelled from St Moritz, changing at Chur for Zurich. It's interesting to see that the trackside snow has been so neatly cleared. Cheers to you both.🇦🇺
I have just rechecked this. I know why the dual gauge exists to Ems, but do you know why there is a dual gauge spur (blocked) on the left of Chur West station?
I heard some words in Romansh at the end? That's wonderful!!! I'm so in love of this channel, what a great way to watch such a beautiful country, with those views and sceneries and its railway infrastructure. Love, love, love from Colombia/Colombie/Kolumbien !
Perfection! Perfect route, perfect weather, perfect camera work, lovely villages....yeah..... perfect. One of your best ones yet! p.s> There sure is a lot of Railway infrastructure at Chur!
Thank you @lorirocks777 and Paolo for another super video. I noticed the wagons at many stations waiting for timber loads. Please, is there any chance of a cargo video featuring the collection of these loads?
Thanks a lot! The shunting operators from Ilanz collect them. Then a freight train start from Ilanz to Landquart. I filmed a freight train but not collecting this loads.
@@dellacapaolo thanks for getting back to me. I know many of your fans like the magnificent Graubünden scenery but I am sure some would like to learn more about shunting operations - a day in the life of a Geaf 2/2 crew?
ohh it's so beautiful this scenery so I want to go there there is snow, the house is beautiful and cold, filled with snowy land you can play. The mountains are beautiful and snowy. I miss this snowy place. I have never held snow land. I am from Indonesia.👍👍👍❄❄❄😀👐
Hi. It shows the driver where the electrical boundary is between a station and the mainline. So if the mainline power was off, the driver would have to lower the pantograph to avoid connecting the two.
Hey, your channel's videos are amazing, Swiss nature is remarkably perfect, I want to visit Switzerland so much :)) Do u have any plan to upload Voralpen express video, I couldn't find this route videos unfortunately
0:19:55 Is that another church high up on the mountain to the left for Paolo to explore? 0:21:14 "Beam me down, Scotty." 0:52:58 That's rather impressive how the river is completely turned back upon itself by the rock cliff right at the Chrummwag Tunnel's entrance. 0:55:29 Was that the locomotive's whistle blown by Paolo? Did I miss something along the right-of-way? Once again, thank you, Paolo and lorirocks, for the journey, it was most relaxing.
Lovely cab ride as always. Just something I noticed - the opposite train that crossed at Valendas-Sagogn, I've seen many videos on this section where the trains cross at the previous station Castrisch. Has the timetable been tweaked or was that train delayed?
Congratulations on your country's transportation organization. I live in Brazil and here public transport is not good. We suffer from this problem. I try to ride a bicycle, but when the distance is greater, we have to use the car.
Watching snowy fields and virtually traveling it feels like traveling between vanilla ice-cream 🍦. Temperature at present here is 37 degree Celsius. But this video feels minus ➖1 degree
Fantastic video. This must be the best job in the world. The scenery is really breathtaking. I have noticed the very fast acceleration when departing from stations, is the throttle set to the line speed and than the locomotive self accelerates to that speed? I know that on RHB locos the throttle also acts like a speed limiter.
@@dellacapaolo I tough the loco in the video was 4/4 II and that one seems to have its control wheel notches also related to the speed each notch can achieve, (20, 30 etc) but i might be wrong or making a confusion :). Also the train seems to be entering the stations pretty fast and braking strong. Where you trying to keep the tight timetable or that's how nimble these trains are, you can just go pretty fast on acceleration and braking with them. Thanks for the reply and absolutely amazing videos.
@@optmius99 yeah it was a Ge 4/4 II but they are still 37 years old. Our trains car accelerate and break really well. Yeah they have notches 1, 2, 3 , 4 related to the speed but they won't keep the speed. Going up you have to adjust it. And going down you do have to break electric or with air brakes too. For me it was just normal acceleration and deceleration.
@@dellacapaolo Great info tanks for sharing that. The Ge 4/4 II might be old but still looks like a great locomotive. On your own opinion what do you love to drive more, older GE locos like GE4/4 and the Crocodiles or newer EMU like Capricorn and Allegra? :)
@@optmius99 difficult question. I just love the possibility to drive all of them (I can't drive the crocodile). For the power is nice to have a Ge 4/4 III. For modern is nice to have a Capricorn. To actually drive old school a Ge 6/6 II or a Ge 4/4 I.

Sehr schönes Video. Danke an euch. Bei Schmalspur erscheint mir die Geschwindigkeit meist schneller als sie wirklich ist. Geht es anderen manchmal auch so ?
