Hi LoriRocks,Wonderful ride, very informative very enjoyable, yes beautiful scenery as well. Looks very cold there when you recorded it. I'm in the U.S.A(southwestern) desert. I'm texting this on 8/29/24 as we are nearing 110 degrees yes it is our summer season. Don't know when you recorded this ,but it seemed the higher in elevation the more snow there is. Here we are still running our air conditioner to stay cool. Ultimately I loved it all and look forward to other cab rides.
For someone who likes nature and the mountains in particular, this is like a meditation. Only the tunnels are so narrow that they inspire a slightly claustrophobic feeling.
Guten Tag.
It doesn't get any better than that you're not only driving the train but you're seeing the beautiful vacation destinations that you possibly can't afford! Love all her videos! 😁😀🚂🚋🚞🚎🎆
We were over there riding the RHB for a week. We were in an organized tour, but they have day and weekly passes that I think were reasonable prices. At the time, the Swiss Franc and US dollar were close to on par. Food at coop was reasonable as well. It was worth every penny to travel on that wonderful railroad. Summer was beautiful, too!
What is the clunking sound in the cab? It's as though there's a heavy door opening and closing every so often? Switzerland is beautiful. It's been many years since I last had the pleasure of holidaying there.
@lorirocks777 thank you! Of course, my husband then asks, "A pedal? What sort of pedal?!" We have 'virtually' travelled on many train routes across the world, but Switzerland is the Tops which one would expect. ❤️
@@annawinters4346 Trains in Europe have a pedal you need to press and occasionally release so the system knows you are there. If you don't do anything, the emergency brakes are applied. Yes, Switzerland is a great place for railway enthusiasts!
Sorry you had so much trouble with overheating camera on this one. Ironic really given the snowy scenes it was capturing! Nevertehless this is a lovely cab ride! The segment immediately leaving Chur is perfect - so much railway to see against such a lovely mountainous backdrop! One small point: On arriving at St Mortiz (timecode 01:47.30) the chevrons/arrows pointing to the Tirano route are - I think - the wrong way round, they should point to the left I believe?
644 Savognin is my favourite RhB locomotive - I remember riding behind it when it had the blue Radio Grischa livery ("Unerhört? Unerhört!) and I have the Bemo model of it!
Another very enjoyable video. Lots of additional detail, with Map! Superb bit of weather manipulation at Filisur (59m.) - I had to re-look at that bit a few times. Many Thanks.
Dam I like this video. It is about my 4t time watching it. I am an old fart 74 my dad worked for the Union Pacific. Spent summers with grand parents where trains ran all the time. It brings back a lot of memories. THANK YOU for the trip to Switzerland.
3:29 This is referred to in Australia as Dual-Gauge line. On the left are(Outer) Standard-Gauge: 4ft 11.5inch, and (Inner) Narrow-Gauge(3ft 10inch). One Metre is roughly equal to 3ft 10 inches. Generally, in Victoria, the dual gauge would combine the Standard Gauge with the Irish Broad Gauge(to be sure, to be sure, to be sure LOL) which is 5ft 3 inches.
Und wieder ein wunderschönes Vides aus der Küche von lorirocks777 und Paolo - tolle Fahrt und saubere Übergänge bei den Kameraproblemen - herzlichen Dank!
I remember doing this trip 25 years ago on my way to Pontresina when there was a Club Med village. It was such a nice trip and scu a see sight. I had family in Switzerland near Léman lake.
4:45 You really can see the massive difference between the two gauges with the left-hand rails between the Standard Gauge(outer rail) and the Narrow Gauge(inner rail). If you saw the Victorian dual-gauge tracks, the gap between the inner and outer rails(Standard and Broad Gauges) is much narrower.
You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop, the Twilight Zone! " All aboard"! The night train is the only means of travel in and out of the twilight zone. It is not so much a place as it is a time. For every passenger the experience is different. Tonight many will feel the need to sleep but before they do....the Night Train may have something special instore for it's passengers! "Excuse me....Mr. Conductor"? "What stop is up next"? " The town is called 'Anywheresville' mam". "What kind of name is that for a town..... I've never heard of it"! "It's everything and anything for everyone mam". " What do you mean by that"?! ....." Mam....if you get off at Anywheresville you can just make a wish upon stepping off the Night Train and it will be so". In this episode everyone on this train wants to just 😴 But imagine if you will, a place where you can grow up again. A place where you can change your life as you know it. Anything is now possible if you step off! But be warned..... there's no coming back. So if sleep is all you need then I suggest you close your eyes and by pass the next stop. This stop is a place that also exists in your dreams....or a Night Train going anywhere....in the twilight zone.

Great video, but I have a question: on my TV, the quality constantly changes from nice and crisp, to what looks like 240p res. Like I'm talking every 6 seconds it goes from high res to low res for a second or so then back to high res. Is anyone else having this issue? I only seem to get this problem with cab view videos.
