@@waldowsxxghostxx8577 Haven’t had any seat tube cracking that I’ve seen. A couple top tubes on XL bikes with really tall guys and also a good amount of chain stays (under warranty), so watch the chain stay right where it curves into the bottom shell by the chain ring.
@@BikingRoots what are you saying about the chainstay I got a visual I have my chainstay protector wrapped up in lizard skin propylene with Velcro then zipped tied it so their or their following the linkage connects to the bb ? What should I look out for?
@@waldowsxxghostxx8577 If you follow your chainstay protector towards your crank you will get to a weld, then it indents inwards towards another weld. That section right there is where sometimes you may develop a crack. Just keep an eye on it. Most haven't had issues but we've done some warranties in the past. Hope it helps
Spec wise the 2023 is much better. I like the thinner frame, new geometry (for the 27.5) and the steeper seat tube. Which color do you like better? You can get the 2022 for a pretty good price right now if you can find one in your size.
Nice! Glad you like it. Yeah the grey and black looks pretty sweet. I haven’t had a chance to ride on the trail yet but yes I imagine they will be even more fun and playful but we’ll have to see.
Nice to see Marin updating the Rift Zone. I'd be more interested in Marin bikes if they had more options for buying bare frames, that way I can equip the bike my way. Of course I can say the same thing about other manufacturers as well.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah I have heard that complaint before and yes it would be nice. In the Rift Zone family, you have only 1 option and it’s a carbon 29er. Maybe some day
Thanks, sorry! I should have clarified that the 27.5 is the frame that got the biggest changes. It used to be 66.5 and the 29er changed to 65.5 a few years back. For 2023, the 29er got a steeper seat tube and a bit longer wheelbase, but the 27.5 got slacker and a steeper seat tube. Thanks
If you are a bigger guy or a very hard rider that jumps all the time, you may end up bending an axle. Thru axle is stiffer and easier to take on and off but they cost a bit more (for the wheel w/ a thru axle hub) so Marin doesn’t spec it on the base model
I know right?! Yeah Marin for whatever reason has always given the least expensive bikes cooler colors and also more color options than the more expensive bikes. I would think it would be the other way around but I guess that's me!
Thanks for the question. Yes the FS4 Norco has a few things that make it worth the extra $200 like a dropper post, rear thru axle w/ 148 boost spacing (the RZ 1 frame is boost compatible but has a less expensive non thru axle rear hub). And the FS4 comes with 4 piston brakes and better tires. The advantage the Rift Zone has is 27.5 wheel options which some people prefer especially small/shorter riders. You can get an XS rift zone 1 which is nice. The Rift Zone 2 is very expensive now though at $2400 so we feel we have the Rift Zone 1 as a great entry level option, the Norco Fluid FS4 as your in the middle option, and the RZ2 as your nicer option.
I know that’s been a complaint of mine for years with them. For whatever reason they like to give the lower end models the nice colors (and multiple options), then you go up in trim and get less options. Doesn’t make sense but I’m sure they have their reasons
I kinda prefer the orange/blue actually, which is weird, because I am a darker colour type of guy. I had the 2020 version of the rift zone one in the dark colour way, and loved it. Think when I get working again I will get the 2023 orange/blue
Thanks for the comment. Nice, yeah I’m liking that color as well (for some reason I tend to like the colorful stuff sometimes). Good luck and hope you can get one soon! Let us know if we can help
Who’s excited for the new Rift Zones?! I think Marin did a nice job on them and will be testing out on the trails soon
I love my 2022 Marin Rift Zone 1 29er. It was a pleasure doing business with you and look forward to more purchases.
Nice! Glad you are loving it! Thanks for your support
Great video. Do you have the weight as well?
sorry, I thought i had. Ok, I’ll weigh it tomorrow and post back. Thanks!
I ordered today the blue-orange.
I can't wait.
Oh congrats! My son has that color. Hope you have fun with it!
@@BikingRoots i will.
Thank you.
I think the orange looks cool but Black and Grey are my favorite colors so easy choice
thanks for the opinion. Yeah both look sweet but are different. Kind of sad to see the colors go for 2025 models, but that's how it goes with colors.
IMO Black & Charcoal for the win .
Nice, yeah it looks pretty good. Thanks!
Those paint jobs...the red and blue. Very eye catching. Great looking designs
Thanks yeah I think they look pretty nice and should appeal to a lot of people.
My son is out growing his Polygon D5 so I may have to come check that out. Nice ride.
Yeah that can happen! Yeah, come check it out. Would love to help!
Every video in my recommendations is a video about Marin bikes. This channel is still the best though.
Ha! Sorry man. Well, come on and buy one then and join the family!
I just ordered one and look forward to taking it through the paces.
Awesome! Congrats. Hope you like it and have fun
I have a Riftzone 3 27.5” and love the metallic charcoal gray and black
oh right on, congrats! Yeah, it looks pretty good, thanks

With your experience the 2022 or 2023 is better? Thank you so much

I like the changes BTW
Thanks! Yeah we do too!
I just ordered an orange/blue 27.5 model today. Happy fella here.
That's awesome! Congrats! Can't wait for you to get it and get to riding! Where are you located?
@@BikingRoots New England….Connecticut to be exact.
@@celticspirit1 Oh right on! Never been but sounds beautiful. Have fun
@@BikingRoots Thanks. Thank you for the vid as well. Cheers.
Orange and blue for me.
Nice, yeah I like it a lot too
Excellent quality/price bike. How much would it cost to put a dropper post? thank you
Dropper post prices vary but on average we do the dropper, a generic bearing lever, and install from anywhere. from $175- 240
This could be my next trail bike. I like the grey and black. Are they still fun and playful?

Is the back axel not too thin for heavy trails? Might have to upgrade to a through axel straight away
