Hi Max, Great video as usual. As a middle eastern man, I’m sure that all perfumes in category #1 despite of the names don’t contain any oud, but they are pleasant orientals For me the best oud centered fragrance is blue oud from the house of Arabian oud it is very musky, incense & leathery oud I hope you can try it and share your thoughts with us.
I have about 30 real Oud oils. The pure stuff. And so far, I haven't found an Oud fragrance, that does one of them justice. Unfortunately, you don't mention, which of these contain synthetic and which contain the real stuff. And you don't mention a whole category of Oud perfumes. I'm talking about artisanal Oud fragrances like the EO series by Ensar Oud and some others by this brand. They are not in another league, but in another universe.
Very solid list and couple that are on my sample list. Oud for Greatness is my favorite fragrance of all time and oud Wood, Tobacco Oud & Layton Exclusive are keepers too!
Great video as always Max! Though I’m surprised that you didn’t included Aoud Vanille by Mancera. I absolutely love it and my other fav Oud inspired frag would be Initio’s Oud for Greatness.
Great informative vid. Thanks. I had a recent M7 (clear bottle) and it lasted about 15 mins. Terrible performance. But I found a good replacement for it...Mancera's Sand Aoud. It's definitely not as sweet as M7, but it's in the same ball park (to me anyway). And it lasts!

Max you knocked the list out the park .There are a few I am going to have to try .Think there are a few you might consider looking at Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade and Roja Dove Aouds. Out of the whole line Musk Aoud is so regal and refined.
I wore jubilation 25 at a private wedding recently and I was with my wife at a table and this woman walked behind my chair a couple of times and I'd gone to get a drink at the bar and she came rite behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said what are you wearing for colone and told her and she was like That scent is so nice its literally fit for a king and I'd said well I collect a lot of fragrances and I love this but only in a formal occasion and she just was like OMG that's so nice"" true story😉and I'm no Brad Pitt I'm more arm Pitt but I smell nice though 🤣
The FdB Borneo is probably the only one with real oud in it. My best ouds are Russian Oud, Roja UAE, Roja Majestic Aoud, Sahraa Oud, Oud Noir Intense, Oud Luwak, Oud Maximus, EO1, Kemi Hayat. These can't be missed from any top 20 oud list of all time, IMO.
Royal Night is definitely up there in my list also, but my list of Cardamom scents not oud. I believe Max misspoke and meant to say Mysterious Night which does have oud however Royal Night does not.
Versace Oud Noir is one of the best wearable designer ouds. Also in those same ines is Boss Bottled Oud. It has the similar spicy and some apple on top which was way better than expected. On the other end Kalemat Black is really good. Less is more with all these.
Gucci intense oud was the one that got me into oud fragrances goes very well on my skin and last for ever on me my most complimented oud fragrance i own

yessss! I went to Dubai and purchased my first experience into the OUD world. They were called Black Leather, midnight oud, and another called musk noir. They were my favorite thing I brought back from UAE. I've since lost them in a house break in. $5k fragrance collection just gone by thieves. I did however find a replacement for one of them Dunhill Icon Absolu is very similar to the Musk Noir I want to say if not the midnight oud. Love oud!
D&C Mysterious Night is great if you haven't tried and it's easy to get on Ebay. Also has OUD and I love it. Not a big fan of "The One" not it's bad but because to close to the skin on me but Mysterious Night is more of a Beast.
Agreed - as im sure you know, The One Royal Night does not have oud in it. If anything, its smoother than the regular The One EDP since it takes out the tobacco note. Mysterious night is exactly as the name describes - i know i definitely enjoy it.

I own a full bottle of Fragrance Du Boi’s Pure Oud, it’s nuclear stuff. Do you know how different Pure Oud and Borneo Oud are ??? I also own all of their current Attars 😍 they are all so beautiful along with Oud Orange Intense. Oud is an amazing scent, great Video.
Great video. I don’t know when they will open up again due to Covid, but when you can, go to Arabian Oud in Times Square and ask to try Black Stone. It is an Oud oil blend. Very expensive. But 6ml will go a long way. It is a beautiful scent. You can see the notes on their website.
The only bottle that I own on your list is an original full size bottle of M7. I bought it in downtown Chicago the first year it came out. How funny. This fragrance will always have a special place in my heart for sure
I would love to pickup gucci intense oud, but is 176, I have gucci oud, and gucci guilty oud and I absolutely love both, intense is above my pay grade maybe someday
Great video. I always enjoy them. Any chance of a video that differentiates between real oud and synthetic oud fragrances though? I suspect the reason people don't want to do it is because they're concerned it may upset certain brands but with the price of real oud, it seems some companies just add synthetic oud to bump up the price and when your not an expert with hundreds of fragrances and extensive knowledge, it's easy to be fooled by the jargon used to advertise and sell things and not realize that you've spent a small fortune on something that actually contains no oud at all.
Love my ouds. Great list, solid list and I do like the tiers concept. AsQ is almost unheard of besises your comments. AsQ Bois de Bois is so good and works for layering. Is it wrong to want them all, ok, maybe most?
I love Layton but the Exclusif turned me off. There is a dark element (that takes away from the playfulness of the original) and maybe a bit animalic but I don't have a refined nose. Is it the oud that is ruining it for me??? Typically I like oud but I'm not familiar with all its many types.
Many didn't like Exclusif as they did the Original Layton, I can appreciate that... If you don't like it, that's all there is to it. No sense in trying to justify it. Just ''wear what truly moves you!'' 😉

I just tried the Extrait from MFK Oud Satin Mood I’m not that lost haha yeah it’s more feminine for my tastes too. I still like it though, exotic once you love it you just forget about that unisex nuisance. As for the scent it’s gorgeous and unique, my mom really liked it haha . Who knows ? Maybe I’ll get a bottle afterwards but I prefer to sample another one from this very niche house.

imo black afgano and laudano nero are a lot different besides they both are dark gothic scents. The slightly similarity i could accept is only on the neros opening

I know my fiance thinks it's stanky! Doesn't put her off much as amber though.

The old M7 is among the best of oud based fragrances.
Is a 2015 batch considered old enough to be a better m7 oud Absolu?

Oud is practically in everything now. Certainly with regards to niche fragrances. It's pretty common as sandalwood.
Safari Extreme is from Saudi Arabia and is made in Saudi. Dubai is in the UAE, another country. Great Review Max!! Love it ;)

There is so little oud in Royal Oud, it's a travesty using the name "Oud" in the title. It is a great fragrance though.

mpdcuk its readily available online from multiple sellers - but its definitely not an oud fragrance, regardless of how much i enjoy it.
imo black afgano and laudano nero are a lot different besides they both are dark gothic scents. The slightly similarity i could accept is only on the neros opening
